In the beginning MyUnique Thrift was a descent store with great prices, but In the last two years the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. The staff and management do not care if the merchandise is dirty, broken or has missing parts. The product is placed on the shelf "as is" - the workers throw or drop the merchandise on the shelf. One can hear and see how the merchandise is handled in the sorting room and the lack of care the workers have for the products. I have personally witnessed workers break merchandise while stocking the shelves - granted it is a thrift store but a consumer does not want to spend ? on a broken product - no matter the dollar amount. Lastly, the basement area is a hang out for homeless people. People are sitting in chairs and sleeping in the basement area, and taking their kids to basement to play with the merchandise. The basement has become a shelter and a preschool. Damn shame.

This store is unethical and took money from my bank account, that I never have been to this store and did not buy anything online from them. I tried to talk to them about it and they hung up the phone on me. BTW I live 2800 miles from here. Never been to New Jersey!

The store always targets black women, which is funny because there are a lot of minorities working there. What if the tables were turned? Isn't that odd? I confronted the worker, who followed me downstairs to watch me pay. She looked so stupid!

I am a regular at most unique store and I always have a pleasant time when I go. Except for the one in 188 Main StPaterson, NJ 07505. I arrived at this location exactly 9:55am on July 17, Monday morning. As I'm walking in the store was all ready open by the time I got there. I went with my sister and she happened to have an emergency and had to use the bathroom. I'm at the second floor and the First Lady I see I ask her if she can open the door the bathroom sign clearly says to ask someone to open it for you in which I did. The lady continues to tell me that I have to wait until the lady comes into work to open the door. That she has no key. I'm like how is that possible? She didn't even bother to help me and continued to have her conversation on her headphones. I went downstairs to see at the main floor to see if someone can help me out. The lady that was working on the main floor was light skin but definitely Spanish. I asked her nicely if someone can please open the door my sister has an emergency and she continues to tell me the lady should be up there and I proceeded and told her I just came from asking someone up there. Is there anyway someone can just open it while this is going on it's all ready 10 am. They're getting upset because they said it's not even 10 yet. If it's not 10 am yet why on earth would they open to the doors to the costumers if they're not ready to be open? She went on her walkie talkie and spoke to someone but the whole time giving me an attitude. The whole time I spoke to this employee was super uncomfortable she did not care to resolve. She literally was trying to brush me off and continue what she was doing so I went upstairs again because she angrily told me someone is up there go. Like ok that's no way to treat someone. I went upstairs and it turns out the lady that has to open the door is finally there. There was also another lady right next to her waiting for the bathroom door to be opened. This old lady that is in charge of opening the bathrooms proceeds to tell me oh you two are the girls waiting for the bathroom. I told her yes, someone told I had to wait for you to clock in to open the bathroom. How is it possible for only one person to open the door? She then in Spanish tells, "ustedes son las desesperadas" with a smirk on her face. She literally told me And my sister that we are the annoyingly impatient girls. She told me this in front of the woman waiting for the bathroom and she looked at me startled because how can she say that to a costumer. I ignored her for the moment because my sister needed the bathroom. We went ahead came out and I did approach this lady again. I asked her for her name and for the other employees name that called me that because that is disrespectful. I come here all the time and these woman are always with an attitude. When I asked her name and the other ladies name she said oh for what. I told her I will be making a complaint because u shouldn't treat anyone like this and say something like this to someone. That it was an insult. Especially when some one has an emergency. She told me she wouldn't give me her name because I shouldn't be doing that. She started mentioning god and religious content. I told her you didn't care to embarrass me and my sister in front of people with your insult. I asked her for her name once again and she refused to give it to me while adding up not to make a complaint that I'll get her in trouble that I shouldn't do that . That god is more powerful. I am writing this because this is an ongoing issue. It was beyond uncomfortable being there afterwards but I had already drove 30 min to get here. I wasn't going to let them ruin my day. But it was indeed uncomfortable being there after the altercation because I would see them around talking about the situation if not starring me down with full of rage.I hope someone goes into the footage and fire these woman. I won't be shopping at this location again.

Shoppers today may not believe this, but the building housing MyUnique Thrift Paterson is ACTUALLY 120 YEARS OLD! It's original purpose was as one of the first department stores in the history of downtown Paterson. It was originally known as Quackenbush and built to replace the original store which burned down in the Great Paterson Fire of 1902. Quackenbush took up six floors of the current building with each floor covering a different type of product. Walk to the middle of the current store, and you'll see a double spiral staircase. THAT IS THE ORIGINAL STAIRCASE. An architectural marvel. Although it has been refurbished several times, it has still held up over the decades. Today's store, while lacking the charm of the original, still pays homage to the spirit of Quackenbush. MyUnique Thrift Paterson has the standard of a true store of this kind. Good products at good prices. The service can be a bit impersonal but it's a different clientele these days.

Totally overpriced, compared to the other thrift stores in the area. And not a great selection at all. I expected way more for being 2 floors!

I tried asking an employee for help. No one spoke English. No bathroom either. Otherwise, it was a good experience, but I ended up not buying anything. This store isn't like most MyUnique Thrifts in that it was huge and confusing.

Prices are off the roof! Cheaper to buy from places like Marshall's or tj max. Even with their discounted colors the prices are ridiculous. This is beyond sad. People in this community need a for affordable things. Atleast afortable clothing.
