I wish I could give it a zero if I could! I ended up cancelling my reservation all together. I'm a teacher an as you know we don't get paid a lot at all, but our passion is to help our students. Therefore, I booked my reservation through a site which helps me to find the lowest rates possible at a teacher's salary. Anyway, my reservation ended up coming through Orbitz. Normally, I would rent from Enterprise which I have not had any issues renting from to date. But somehow, I inadvertently chose a deal from this Rent-A-Wreck and I will NEVER make that mistake again!!! When we got there, it was an upcharge for EVERYTHING! Adding a driver was $10/day (enterprise no extra charge), Just wanting collision insurance added because apparently you can't have just liability on your policy was $17/day (enterprise is $14/day and you have collision and liability coverage). And side note they charge a $350 hold fee (enterprise $250). Anyway, we were going to pay because we needed to drive out of state for a funeral. Then the owner/manager gets on the phone and says (I guess listening to our conversation on one of the cameras in the office) to charge me per mile, right after I just finished confirming with the customer service oriented gentleman behind the counter, that I selected an unlimited mileage vehicle! Since I could hear her clearly, I rebutted that I purchased unlimited mileage from Orbitz! So then she said well I'm going to check with them. Well, since I don't trust folks, I called Orbitz right there while in the lobby and the customer service guy said I was correct and agreed to call the store himself and let them know. Well 2.5 hours later I'm waiting for a refund and no car! It's funny because if I hadn't looked at the reviews while I was there I would have never thought to have confirmed about the agreement on the mileage. So, thank you for all of your reviews!!! They are super helpful in preventing from making a major mistake like I almost did.

I've used Rent-A-Wreck Parsippany quite a few times over the years. Most recently I rented a cargo van 3 times in the last month. I've been quite happy with them. The vans were not wrecks at all. One was older, two were brand new, all were roadworthy. Rosalie helped me with all of them. She is friendly, efficient, knows her stuff. She was careful to document any dents before I left the lot, and she took the time to help figure out the right mileage quota, and familiarize me with the particulars of the controls and dashboard of each vehicle. She made the process easy.

She was so kind and quick and efficient . I had taken the Volkswagen and had ZERO PROBLEMS. As a 22 year old renter you're always worried about being scammed , DONT . Don't get your car fixed here. Had my car a week. They charged me $125 to change things that didn't fix it. Then asked if I want to pay more to fix the problem which wasn't the problem. Guy down the street took 1 day to tell me it was the distributor.

Rented from these folks in June, no spare tire, car was filthy, not full of fuel. When we returned the vehicle early they charged the full amount. This past week, they fraudulently charged my card $112. Stay away from these folks and rent somewhere else.

Beware! Do not rent from this place... They are supposed to be an "Authorized Cruise America Dealer for RVs"..... Do yourself a favor, call the Kenvil location and save yourself time & aggravation by speaking with Marty. The people at the Lake Hiawatha Rent-a-Wreck are rude & unhelpful.... they should not be in business or aloud to represent "Cruise America." They do not even deserve 1 star... everything about this place is terrible!

Take a picture of your gas gauge when you rent anything here. I filled up the tank exactly where they gave it to me but to my surprise they charged me an additional $38. When I called and questioned it they said they gave to me with 7/8 tank and I returned with 6/8. That is complete BS! They are completely gouging people there. Beware!

DONT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. Extremely Rude staff who would blatantly lie about your reservation and would simply not do anything to help!Car that was rented out to me had all sorts of problems and had to cut my trip short due to ineffective brakes. When I pointed out the issues to staff, they didnt want to acknowledge it and told me i am doing this to get money back which didnt make sense as they charge per day and i told them they can charge me for days i rented the car.Unlimited miles are not really unlimited miles. They would come up with phantom interpretation of the contract and said its only 150 miles per day and they increased my daily rate if i needed more mileage.I booked a 7 seater SUV and confirmed a day before with them that I would indeed be given a 7 seater car. When i went to pick up my rental, lady at front desk simply refused to give me the car and said my reservation is for 5 Seater car and she cant do anything about it. I had to show them my reservation with the class "SFAR" from THEIR OWN WEBSITE for the lady to finally admit she was wrong and lying. They told me i have to go to Dover to pick up my car and when i went there i had to wait 3 hours to get my car which was not washed or properly maintained.Rent a wreck and Priceless share cars and are same company and would recommend not to use these companies for your rental needs.

Don't go out of your way to try to intimidate your employees. Allow them to learn and give them the tools proper tool they need. Treat them with respect and a little bit of dignity

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY! TECHNICIAN RENTED A VEHICLE, SHORTLY AFTER THE POWER STEERING WAS MESSED UP, WE CALLED TO INFORM THEM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE, THEY SAID THEY WOULD, THEN SAID ITS $250 FEE IF YOU DON'T BRING IT BACK- SPOKE WITH MANAGER FROM RENT A WRECK WHO ALREADY HAD A BAD ATTITUDE ABOUT THE SITUATION, COMPLETELY DID NOT HELP, SAID HE WAS DONG ME A FAVOR BY TALKING INSTEAD OF MY TECHNICIAN WHO RENTED THE VEHICLE- PUTTING THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT A RENTABLE VEHICLE, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ATTITUDE IS NOT WORTH THE TIME! THE MANAGER LITERALLY TOLD US TO PUT POWER STEERING FLUID IN THE VEHICLE AND THEY WILL REIMBURSE US $5 FOR IT- IMAGINE THAT, WHAT IS NEXT, WE DO OIL CHANGES AS WELL?!?! WORST EXPERIENCE AND COULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE- THE BLINKER DID NOT WORK, INTERIOR TRIM PIECES FALLING AND POWER STEERING ISSUES, NOW I KNOW WHY THEY CALL IT RENT A WRECK

Gerard (I’m sorry if I’m getting his name wrong) is amazing!!!! We were in a bind and needed a car fast. He made it happen with ease. He was so warm, welcoming, and informative. He is the reason we will be using this company moving forward!

What a nightmare of a place! I had an issue renting from enterprise because they did not tell me I would need a major credit card for an out of state rental. I got ahold of this place and all went fine,at first. I told them I was a travel nurse there on a contract to work with covid patients and I would be driving the car back to Ohio (my home) twice during the rental period. I had the damage waiver which added $20/day to the already high cost of the car (an old Kia Sorrento with 100,000 miles on it, that didn't feel safe enough to be driving on rt 80 anyways). They took a deposit...my total was over $800 for 10 days. The day I drove back to Ohio, a deer ran into the front driver's side of the car, causing a little body damage. When I took the car on the highway, however, it shook horribly going over 40 mph. I called to see what they wanted me to do. At first they demanded I bring the car back, and I told them I did not feel safe driving it. After several more demands I flat out told them no. I told them I would drive the car to a local mechanic which they agreed to. They have since told me the mechanic said there's nothing wrong and it's fine to drive back (the mechanic is a relative and this is a lie) . They harassed me for weeks, leaving me messages about me driving one of their employees to Ohio with me so that THEY could drive the car back...they've not contacted the shop again about making the proper repairs, and I had to have me debit card replaced because they tried multiple times to pull random amounts of money out of my account. $266, $500, $50, $500)...that was aside from the unauthorized charges from eBay that started showing up on my account the day they made a FRONT AND BACK COPY OF MY DEBIT CARD. I paid for the insurance on this car for a reason. It is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to pay for the damage to this car including getting it back to the rental shop. I started off trying to be nice, and told them once they had it fixed, I would drive it back and have someone follow me, BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO EVEN FIX IT! THEY JUST EXPECT ME TO DRIVE A WRECKED CAR 70 MPH FOR 5 HOURS ON RT 80 WITH MY FINGERS CROSSED! My life is not worth your $2,000 beater that I rented from you. And I was there TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY. you should be beyond ashamed of yourselves.
