The vet is skilled, but they are ALL about the Benjamins. Unlike most vet offices, they don't answer animal questions over the phone for free. They are comfortable putting critical information about your animal behind a paywall instead of having human decency and answering a question for the benefit and well-being of the animal. Too bad they're the only Avian vet in the area.

It was a nice place. The Doctor was very helpful.
And I would go back there again. I like going to a place where people are knowledgeable

I seriously wish there were better words in the English language to describe how amazing this place is! ? I needed an Avian vet that specializes in exotic birds and provides hormone shots cuz my cockatiel's egg laying was getting out of control. Plus it would probably kill her one day so I needed to see someone quick. I didn't know of any particular vets but I actually accidentally called the wrong place after searching Google and they recommended Companies Animal Hospital. It takes me about a half hour to drive here but the route is traffic free, scenic and quite nice actually! ? They also accept my Care Credit card which is a huge help when having big vet bills at one time. Also, they always explained everything so that I understand completely and fully explained my entire bill to me. Dr. Turnbull is my "savior" cuz she understood how stressed I was about my bird's situation and went above and beyond her call of duty by giving me her complete attention and listened to everything I that I needed her know. She's virtually ALWAYS available too by being able to text the office phone number and someone ALWAYS gets back to you immediately. That was extremely comforting to me. My little Remy is a patient for life now and I truly recommend Companion to anyone who needs an honest, professional, and just all around amazing veterinarian and staff! Also, please remember that not all vets care for exotic pets like birds, snakes, hamsters, etc. (yes birds are considered exotic)! ?????????⬛
You'll be in such great hands at Companion Animal Hospital & Avian/Exotic Clinic. ??♥️??

Dr Turnball made me feel comfortable and seen. Sometimes there’s this cold “vet knows best” vibe that feels off-putting, but this isn’t the case with her. We openly discussed results and options for my two ferrets, at different life stages, in a way that it was easy for me as an owner to understand. If you’re searching for an easily accessible, friendly/welcoming and knowledgeable veterinarian consider requesting Dr. Stephanie. She’s a great addition to this clinic’s team.

Stephanie is an outstanding vet who goes above and beyond in her care for animals. My dog Riley is always treated with the utmost professionalism and kindness. Stephanie's expertise and compassion shine through in every visit, and it's clear she truly cares about her patients. Whether it's a routine check-up or a more complex issue, I can always trust Stephanie to provide top-notch care. If you're looking for a vet who is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely loves animals, Stephanie is the one to see. Highly recommended!

I took my Leopard gecko here to help with stuck shed and an overall wellness checkup as he came from a neglected situation. My first concern was when I came in and saw a reptile enclosure on reptile carpet with barely any enrichment and only 2 hides. I brushed it off because I figured maybe there is a reason for this.
Dr Turnbull was very nice, and had great bedside manner, what I am upset about is the lack of updated education on husbandry the vet had and the information they were providing me. When asked about my substrate I said I had a play-sand + arid substrate mixture. The vet proceeded to tell me she recommends reptile carpet because it’s easy to clean and has good grip, also, that if he’s eating live insects in his enclosure he may eat the plays and. This was strike one. Reptile carpet harbors a ton of bacteria, is known to rip out reptile nails, and on top of that you should never be providing live feeders in a non controlled environment. Your reptile should be hunting in a separate container or being tong fed.
While they were helping my gecko remove stuck shed, I was provided with flyers on proper leopard gecko care and husbandry. The flyer said 10-20gals long is appropriate For 1-2 juvenile to adult leopard geckos. This is absolutely NOT true. First off leopard geckos are solitary animals. They do not share territories, they are known to preform cannibalism and hurt each other. Updated husbandry states a 20gal is the MINIMUM for a juvenile leopard gecko and 40 is the minimum for a SINGLE adult. The thought of keeping 1 leopard gecko in a 10gallon tank is absurd and frankly animal abuse. They also state leopard geckos are nocturnal, they are crepuscular and active during the morning and evening.
My boy did have pinworm and they helped with administering the first dose, but I will not be going back for the second, I will be finding a different vet to take care of my boy.
Again the vet was very nice, but I recommend educating yourself on proper updated husbandry for reptiles.

Unorganized, very slow service. They gave me an update and said they'll be back shortly. They showed up over an hour later. This happened 4 times. Also very expensive.
