Find a better hospital, the vets are great, the rest of the staff are entirely incompetent, unless it’s an absolute emergency save yourself the trouble! You have been warned and you’re welcome

My wife had to take our 15 year old cat to them from another vet because his cray showed something in his back the staff was amazing and took the time to explains hat they found and were very thorough. They were so compassionate and helped through the unfortunate outcome that had to be made. Would highly recommend them in the future if an emergency is ever needed. They sent a bill as I expected and to be honest it wasn’t crazy like I have heard from emergency vets before.

I have been to Oradell Animal Hospital with many of my pets over the years for emergencies....back to when they were actually in Oradell (!) and have always been very pleased with the care.Events this past early Sunday morning prompted me to write a formal review. My 11 year old cat was diagnosed with lymphoma in Oct by my regular vet. I was told last week she likely only had a week to live. She was down to only 4 pounds. While I made plans for my recently launched children to come home this past Tuesday to say goodbye, I found Sandy already passed in my room at 12:30 am. Sunday (in the middle of a holiday weekend!)I am so grateful to Oradell Animal Hospital that I could bring my sweet kitty there in the middle of the night! They took me right in and let me spend time with her in a private room and helped me make all of the arrangements to have her privately cremated. They were all so compassionate, gave me all the time I needed....and they charged me nothing!I cannot thank them enough for their kind compassion in the middle of grief. They will always be my go to .

My family and I visited Oradell Animal Hospital under very unfortunate circumstances. My beloved ferret Luna was diagnosed with tumors in her abdomen by our local vet and her condition was worsening. We were seeking emergency care for her around 4am, and our local emergency vet turned us away in a time of great need. We found Oradell online, called the facility and they said they would help us as soon as we arrived. We were very emotional and distressed due to the circumstances, but the Oradell team was nothing but kind and accommodating to us from the moment we walked through the doors. Dr. Ruvolo was the vet caring for Luna, he was patient, informative, and supportive throughout the whole procedure. This was one of the toughest moments of my life, but Dr. Ruvolo and the rest of the staff we encountered were comforting, and welcoming. They treated us like we had been going there for veterinary care for years. I am so appreciative of Oradell for taking care of my baby after we had already been rejected. The circumstances in which we visited Oradell were extremely sorrowful, but I could not ask for a better experience during such a sad situation.

Unfortunately my fur baby (Buster) was first taken here on 1/2/24 due to throwing up and loose stool. Blood work revealed pancreatisis, but Dr B taught it might be due to his throwing up and loose stool. He was given meds and sent home. His condition got worst and was taken back on 1/7/24, where another Dr said he was severely dehydrated and confirmed he had pancreatitis, gastritis and moderate anemia and needed to be hospitalized for 1-2 days. My husband left him and the following day 1/8/24, another Dr spoke to my husband and said Buster was doing well, he ate and asked if he was a finicky eater and recommended he might do better at home. He was discharged later that day with meds again. That day when my husband carried him into our home, I took him and feed him his favorite chicken. He ate it all as he usually did. The following day, he refused to eat and drink water. My husband had to feed him water with a sippy cup and also tried to hand feed him. Every time, there was an another issue with Buster, my husband would call you for advice. On 1/11/24, the last call to you, the receptionist said to my husband was he expecting a miracle. This person is very inhumane and doesn’t deserve to work with the fur babies. Meanwhile, he was told to call when needed. This time, the call was about black stool. Dr told him to bring him in. I told my husband do not take him there as not much has been done for Buster. So, my husband took him to his vet. He was in agony and pain - he barked three times. When my husband carried him to go to vet, Buster’s tongue came out. Another indication he was dying. We were never told how severe his condition was in order to avoid all the pain and agony he well through. He was misdiagnosed on his first visit and we trusted you!!! Never will forgot the imagine of our fur baby in agony and we tried our best to help him He was the best fur baby in the world!!!Madeline Q

We have taken three of our babies to Oradel ER, when they needed emergency care. We have NEVER had a bad experience with the staff of Oradel. They have alway been caring, compassionate and showed the utmost empathy to our babies and our family. Most recently Dr. Megan Julian received our Clark (12 yr old German Shepherd) who, without showing any symptoms, unexpectedly refused to eat and was unable to get up off the floor. Dr. Julian compassionately let us know that he was not well and had severe internal inflammation and internal bleeding. While providing a list of options on next steps to treat our baby, Dr. Julian also informed us that it would be a prolonged process for him to endure, to determined "if" there was anything that would help him. We knew what we had to do even before Dr. Julian made this statement; However, this was by far the most honest, heart felt statement I have ever heard from a vet. Usually we hear this after all the procedures are sold to desperate, heart broken parents who are willing to try "anything". Dr. Julian is definitely in the right profession. We thank you for all you do. These are some of our babies, who are playing together peacefully over the rainbow ...thanks to Oradel. (and we still have more)

Sadly we lost our 16 year-old Chihuahua, Chip, yesterday due to heart disease. I have to express our gratitude to the wonderful doctors and staff at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. The professionalism, expertise, and compassion they gave us was outstanding. Their triage protocol and Dr James Su initial intake and time he spent with us was greatly appreciated. We cannot express enough gratitude to Dr Cortes for her extreme efforts to save Chip and her support and compassion to the end.

I cannot thank the veterinarians and staff at Oradell enough for saving Molly, our 10 year old Aussie mix, who almost died of acute liver failure from poisoning. Dr. Zerrenner, Dr. Lucy and the Oradell team recognized the danger and gave her state of the art treatment which resulted in a complete recovery. Yes it's expensive as you'll see in other reviews, we are lucky to have pet insurance that helped cover the bills - but worth it to have truly outstanding emergency/critical care and internal medicine vets taking care of our poor sick girl. Dr. Zerrenner stayed way past her shift to make sure Molly was stable and called me and texted with updates. It's not a miracle Molly survived, it's the result of quick diagnosis and the right treatment. All the staff were so compassionate and understanding, and treated her as if she were their own dog. Highly recommend if your pet is seriously ill. THANK YOU!!!!

There was a major mistake in my pet's medical record that would have been caught earlier if more attention was put into client communication. A "Your pet's diagnostics does not indicate XYZ concern" would have allowed me to procure the diagnostic report that strongly indicated XYZ concern which is why I was referred to Oradell in the first place. They confused a diagnostic report from several weeks ago with a diagnostic report from that day.I am not trying to be inflammatory and overall I am grateful that my pet has access to Oradell. I just hope improvements can be made in the future.---Update: Unfortunately, their response to my concerns was a long run-on paragraph filled with hearsay. I have the medical record in front of me and at the end of the day that's the most concrete evidence about what occurred. My ultimate request to focus on improving client-communication practices was ignored and instead it seems like the team at Oradell is more invested arguing about what transpired. Again, I make that request, I don't doubt the medical abilities of this hospital but consistent lack of communication makes me weary.

My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at my local vet. They recommended that I go to Oradell for a consultation on a radioactive iodine treatment.. This is a one time treatment that eliminates the need for daily medicine. I met with Dr. Shah at Oradell and decided to go ahead with the I 131 treatment. My cat was admitted to the hospital on Monday and released on Friday. The treatment was completed at the estimated cost. My cat came home looking well cared for and I received daily updates. Happy that I chose to go ahead with the treatment and very happy with the care that my cat received from Dr. Shah and her staff.

Dr. KB Brown was exceptional, thorough & extraordinarily compassionate. Dr. Brown came up with fantastic solutions to help alleviate our Beagle Mix Thurmans heart issues and we can't thank Dr. Brown enough. Top shelf service and tremendous bedside manner.Side note also - Dr. Joseph DeSanto at Oradell is a true Lifesaver and his dedication and love for his craft & the animals is like nothing I've ever seen. Dr. DeSanto is a wonderful doctor.

2 years ago my first dog Tom was referred to an ER for diagnosis from my limited primary vet/animal hospital, though they did all of the testing.I brought test results to Oradell. My first meeting there with any doctor, I do not remember her name - she was so INSENSITIVE and hurtful the way that she spoke with us. She basically asked me questions at first, just typing into her computer, never gave eye contact... she was a robot. She basically went on to talk about his Cancer, he has fluid and can't breathe, he'll be gone in a couple of weeks, if not days ... Cancer was not what I was expecting. But it was the way she spoke of it, as if we knew what it was before she said it. We went there for a diagnosis. My dog Jerry had an emergency 1+ month ago and again, horrible experience w/Dr Su. Urinary blockage w/Stone (That Oradell didn't even see). After xray and a whole day of sitting in the crate with a catheder, Dr Su recommended Jerry get admitted JUST to do an ultrasound the next morning. We brought Jerry home and he was not blocked for 10 days, then we ended up bringing him to Eclipse Emergency Room). All that was done at Oradell was bloodwork (not complete - just to check kidney level), Catheder and an Xray.I paid $1,800 for this at Oradell. If we followed Dr Su's advise admitting Jerry just to do an ultrasound the next morning, our bill would be "between $4k and $5k".... And then surgery, on top of the diagnostic testing (up to 5k) would be "between 8k and 12k" WHAT?!(Surgery at Eclipse Emergency Room INCLUDING hospital stay, Xray etc etc was $4700!!!! Total.).The docs at Eclipse were amazing w/ my Jerry.. they most importantly comforted him as he was so nervous, they surprisingly worked with us and our budget, and were just compassionate and patient answering my many questions. At Oradell, I paid more than double and got zero compassion.

My three dogs were patients at at the Paramus location. I drove 45 minutes each way to bring them there because of the amazing loving atmosphere from the front desk to the pharmacy on the way out and everyone in between. I can’t say enough about Dr Koenig, he saved my Pepper’s life last year when the vet she had failed to acknowledge her symptoms. They are all gone now, I am going to have my daughter start taking her dog to see Dr Koenig and any future pet I adopt will be seen at Oradell for all their medical needs. To recap: Top of the line veterinary medicine and kind and caring team of doctors and staff.

Had to put my baby down because this hospital wouldn’t work with me. His platelets and red blood cells were really low and he needed a blood transfusion. They wouldn’t let me put some down and then do weekly payments. As the lady said laughing “yeah that’s what they all say and never pay”Mind you when I went dr Kim quoted me 12-15k for a transfusion. I took him to VEG who didn’t have whole blood and referred me to oradell. The Dr at VEG called oradell for a quote for whole blood and they said for a 24 hr infusion between 6-8k. So the price drastically changed yet still they wouldn’t work with me.This place is horrible, they claim they’re in the business to help animals but that’s incorrect if you don’t have thousands of dollars up front your pet will die.RIP goku, gone way too soon ?
