This is a review of the company as a whole- not this specific location. I tried selling one of their mutual funds I’ve held in my Roth IRA account for years. They assured me it would go through at the close of the market today. It’s 8:40pm and still showing open order. What’s the problem? Update: sale did go through at the very end of the evening trading session and showed on my account the next afternoon.

Challenging to get any assistance as a walk in customer.

Coasting on the Schwab name. Everyone working there is very busy not helping walk in customers. Trying to open an account and deposit a check, and they direct you to a “kiosk” which is basically a desktop computer. If you have any issues they point you to an 800 number where after waiting on hold, someone in Denver can try to help you. Customer Service is dead.

I opened an account with Schwab before the pandemic, because I thought the no-fee for international atm's was a great perk. Everything was fine with the account for a few years, then I got a letter saying my account would be closed due to inactivity if I did not contact them. So I did, and the gentlemen on the phone said he would mark my account so that it would not be closed. Sure enough, my account balance (around $600) was moved into unclaimed property without any additional notice from the bank. I'm now going through the process to reclaim my funds.

Very disappointed with customer service at this office. I am a senior citizen and not computer proficient,so I expected that someone would provide assistance and guidance to complete forms necessary to set up an account. Forget that idea! I got MUCH more information and assistance at my local H&R Block office! Unless you are computer savvy, find yourself a different financial institution.

Good Luck getting to speak with someone at this local branch. This is the worst service I have ever seen in my life. Shocking that this level of service is provided from a company like Charles Schwab. Don't waste your time and aggravation - GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Good Luck trying to get to speak to a live local person. I have wasted far too much time trying to get a person on the phone who can handle our business's 401k's. Good Luck, no one is EVER around to answer a phone or live to call you back or email you back. All I want to do is give Charles Schwab our money and I can't even get them to take our money. Pathetic from a well known company such as Charles Schwab. I recommend going anywhere else. Don't waste your time and get aggravated these guys are chumps, getting this kind of service makes me want to open my own investment company that is totally focused on customer experience and customer relations. Schwab is so bad.... 10-12-18 EDIT: I want to update this post and let everyone know that Schwab's client advocacy team stepped in to help me get what I needed done. Also I was finally able to get ahold of Jeff Wogel and he was a big help. The Schwab team was kind and gracious after getting to speak with them. I have since changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. They are a good team, you just have to get the opportunity to speak with someone who can resolve your problem.

If they have such bad services, what is the point to people to keep its funds in a bank? I just read that someone went to that bank to open an account and was advised to go to the computer and do it itself. Horrible services then

I stop by the branch in Paramus to get information on opening a new account. The receptionist directs me to a computer so I can open it myself. I tell her I would like to talk to someone first to get information. She sighs and says she will try to find someone who has a few minutes! Why does Schwab bother to have branches and personnel if they just want to be a self-service operation.

Go to Charles schwab to cash a bond and put into my accunt ...they don't do that you have to go to a bank and cash the bond. Okay i'll go cash the bond and come back and put it into my account...Nope.. Go to another bank to cash the bond then come back and they say they can't accept cash to put into my account. Never heard of a bank not accepting a bond or cash to put into my own Charles Schwab account.

Charles Schwab , a Broker Dealer, has a great office in Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey at 155 NJ Rt 17 where I have had accounts now for decades. The current Brach Manager is a wonderful caring woman and mother. This location has been consolidated to now on this relocation as well Paramus had two major locations . Now one and now moved again in a.d. 2017 too. Paramus Branch 155 Route 17 South Bergen County Paramus, NJ 07652-9999 (201) 967-3600 US TOLL Free 888-245-6864 Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Only still OPEN Monday through Friday It is a better Broker/Dealer . But alas in Parmus you can not be open on Sunday with Bergen County, the only one of twenty one, BLUE LAWS. which in Paramus are enforced. I think the only problem with this Branch is they never send even Birthday nor Holiday Cards as our other B/D's do.. Not even a New Jersey BBQ Party either..
