“Can't say enough about this old school mom & pop hardware store. It's been around since the invention of Dirt! Family owned and you know that you can go there for that particular thing and if you also need some guidance on the task you're undertaking as well, these guys know their trades and will happily, patiently explain how to go about the task at hand. Sure, I could hoof it over to Home Depot and possibly save a few shekels, but to walk out of this store having been fed a helping of old school customer service, the kind that is so rare these days, you may have forgotten what it is! And it strikes me, "oh yeah, there still are a few stores run like this. Whew!" That's worth more than the few shekels extra you may have paid here, bc that kind of feeling that all is well in a lil pocket of the neighborhood is basically priceless! It's no wonder it's been in business all of these years, they treat the customer right!!”

My program works at Ace Hardware on Tuesday's to clean the grills, sweep the floors, fix the shelves, and restock the shelves. I called ahead to tell them what I needed in my own words I told them and they guided me throughout the whole process, I needed some lumber and didn’t know the measure of the lumber at all, one of gentleman at front took his time to show me the lumber I needed to make sure if that’s the lumber I needed for my project! “The young lady who works there is very knowledgeable. I had called two different plumbers two times in the past 4 months and paid a total of $450 to unclog my kitchen sink. They did nothing. Just ripped me off and didn't address the issue. Before calling another plumber, I stopped by this store and the lady recommended a liquid to pour in the drain. I've never seen the sink work better in my stay of 10 months in the current apartment. She deserves recommendation.”

“As a lifelong resident of Jersey City, I only first visited Tsigonia a few days ago in search of purchasing Benjamin Moore paint. I called the day before I visited to make sure they were going to be open and what their hours were and spoke to the nicest man on the phone. I had the pleasure of meeting Stanley upon my first trip to the store and it was such an amazing experience. He's so pleasant, helpful, genuine, and knowledgeable. It really took me back in time to experience such true customer service. He made such an impression on me. Stanley walked me through everything I needed, even mentioning things I didn't consider, giving me options to choose from, saying 'we want to make sure we have this right'. In this day and age, where are you going to find someone who actually cares about the color and finish of how you're deciding to paint your home? To me, that caliber of character speaks volumes in the day and age where you're likely to be flagging down someone for help in a store because they aren't around or are glued to a device. Anyway, I ordered the first batch of what I needed from him, and some samples to try. I made my mind up over the week, and called in the rest of my order because I would be arriving for pick up close to their closing time and wanted to be respectful of operational hours. Stanley was so precise, patient, and thorough with my order, 6 different colors and a variety of finishes within them - all to a T. My order was ready and accurate, all waiting to be paid for by the time I arrived. This man is truly such a role model for customer service, for this business, and the human race. Stanley, you are an angel.”

I called ABP and got exactly what I needed, at a good price, with helpful service, and had it delivered within 48 hours. It was a tricky delivery -- down a narrow side alley -- and one of the owners came himself on the truck and drove the forklift. Thanks!”

“Had to get some keys copied which the big box stores didn't have in stock for weeks. Schlage Type C (commercial lock which is not common). The person behind the counter, possibly the owner, was really friendly and made 6 copies in no time. Keys worked perfectly and edges were beveled so no sharp edges, which is not always the case with HomeDepot or Lowe's. Price was about the same, $2 dollars or so. Good deal. While I was waiting, took a look around and surprised to see the variety of their inventory. They don't have everything but if you know construction, it's a good selection of just what you need in a limited space.”
