I’ve been coming here for 5 years, but I wouldn’t say I get my hair done often. I usually just come for trims and straight perms. I do recommend perms, they last for a year or two for me. As of recently I haven’t been satisfied with the hair cuts. Last time they cut too much volume and length. The time after that I went in for a perm and he asked if I wanted a trim. I told him I didn’t want to, but towards the end of the perm he insisted on trimming. I understand why he wanted to and it was ok, but I didn’t want that initially. Also I asked before my perm if the coupon applies and the hostess confirmed, but I was told after that it’s more because of the length. Again I understand, but would’ve been nice if they told me beforehand. I go into the salon knowing what I want, but sometimes I feel like I’m persuaded into what the hair dresser wants. Very nice staff and I do recommend new people to come here, but I don’t think it’s for me anymore.

So my husband always got his haircut at Shilla Barber and I was so happy that they opened up a Soomusal right next to it! Now whenever my husband gets his haircut, I get my haircut right next door by Yoo Jin and she's absolutely amazing. I'm not really good at maintaining my hair but she knows and makes sure I get a haircut that's easy to maintain and perfect for my face shape. Ladies, if you need a haircut, I'd definitely recommend coming here for Yoo Jin. ?

My family and I love Sumusal hair salon! We have been loyal customers for many months, and the workers here are all so friendly. The salon is also very clean, organized, and located in a great place. Would definitely recommend!

Sumusal is a nice and clean hair salon. They are respectful and organized, they make you feel welcomed when you walk in. They would call your stylist on the microphone/intercom if they are in the break room, I thought that’s cute!
I have been following Yoojin for my haircuts, coloring and styling! I would show her photos of what I want and she would usually cut it pretty close and sometimes better to fit my face shape. She had also styled/braided my hair for my special events! I would recommend her for coloring too. She can do good subtle ombré and when your virgin hair grows out it wouldn’t look bad at all.

I went to get my long hair permed. However, director Kim recommended a cut and perm that suited my hair condition without damaging it. She explained well the correct shampoo method depending on the condition of my scalp. Above all, the most satisfying point is that even people like me who cannot go to the hair salon often will be able to care their hair easily and grow it beautifully.
I am satisfied with my hair. Thank you.

Kim did an amazing job with my digital perm! We got through it much faster than most of my other experiences getting perms. She looked at my inspo pics, we agreed on a style and she was completely open to requests to make slight changes to the cut at the end. As someone who has minimal understanding of Korean, there was one staff member who spoke fluent English to help, but it wasn’t impossible to mime/infer through conversations with everyone else. There was an overall friendly atmosphere. Would come again!

After a botched perm (photo below is 3 months after a digital perm), I came here for the first time and the owner Kim recommended a setting perm to tame the frizz and restore more natural waves. She was sincere and clearly knowledgeable. I’m grateful that she was attentive at every step.
The before and after speaks for itself - I am so pleased with the result and service!!

Definitely not recommend this place for haircut. I specifically asked to cut my hair by 2 inch but literally my hair is gone by 4-5 inches and weird layering. Do not look for Michelle.
