We had the Holiday Tea here last Sunday. I was a bit disappointed. No brewed tea- hot water and tea bags with a very limited selection of teas ( I had Lipton decaf). Food was good; somewhat disappointed in the desserts. But what really got me was the 20% service fee, which included a 15% tip for the wait staff and 5% for linens, glassware, etc. Never heard of that before. But the real kicker is they added the total service fee into the subtotal, and then they calculated the sales tax. So we paid tax on the tip. I complained about this to the manager but she was busy and said she would have their accounting department get back to me. Ridiculous. If the food had been excellent and the tea delicious, I might have overlooked it. But they weren't so I didn't. The venue is very pretty and certainly worth a walk through; skip the tea.

I have been to this hotel many times years ago with my family, and always had great experience. I was there in August 2023 with my family we had terrible experience with customers service especially with the front desk manager, James. When I presented a complaint to him, instead of solving the problem, he made me more upset. When my American Express investigated my complaint, James lied about what actually happened. Not only did he violate the American with Disability Act (ADA) by refusing me the right to bring my service dog, I felt disrespected and discriminated by this manager as an elder, as a woman and as an Asian. Plus, the place is not worth the price we paid over $1,100 a night. The furniture was old, it was dirty, the toilet was not work, and the bed was not comfortable. From the bottom of my heart, I will never recommend this place. Date of stay: August 2023 Trip type: Traveled with family

I've been going for breakfast every year on vacation at this restaurant. Since Covid the quality of food is subpar and the level of service is deplorable. This year I decided to give their high tea a try. Nowhere on the website does it say you have to call over 24 hours in advance. Every time I called I got a voicemail I messaged them on Facebook no reply. There is nowhere to reserve on the website. They finally called me back to let me know I needed to reserve 24 hours in advance. Thanks for ruining my vacation for today. My nephew sister and mother are very disappointed as well.

Location, location, location. What a great spot! Located right in the heart of the boardwalk. Walkable to dozens of restaurants. The staff is super friendly, rooms are very clean, and there's always something to do. You can't get bored here! It is pricey, however, such is the case with the location. Definitely worth paying what we paid for this hotel. It has a lot of history and they certainly make use of the space provided for as old as the building is. We booked last minute and took a shot. It didn't disappoint. I loved the parking situation. We were able to park in the lot that borders the hotel. From here, we could quickly grab our sand toys for the kids, chairs for us, and odds and ends and head up to the beach. I noticed a sign about future luxury condos going there?????? I'm not sure how that would have an affect on parking or where we would park. I'll be curious in finding out. I love how it is now. I'll be disappointed if that convenience of parking changes. The only other negative, is a lack of balconies. Only a few rooms have them. It would be nice while at the beach. Over all, excellent experience!

The hotel was not only in the ideal location, it was exceptionally clean. Every inch of this place was spotless, from the lobby, to the restrooms, to the stairwell, to the hotel suites. It was so lovely having not only a bedroom but a kitchen and living room with dining table. It had old world charm with a super friendly staff. And not to mention the location again, but the location couldn't be better. Wonderful staff. Wonderful stay. Nice heated pool for that rainy day fun. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Although a bit costly and only allow 2 night stay, the service and rooms are always clean.

Attended a Wedding Reception here and can honestly say this was a first class affair. The building is beautiful, well maintained and each room used for the Ceremony and reception was gorgeous. Guest rooms were great and exceeded expectations. Food at the reception was delicious as well as plentiful. All staff we encountered were professional and organized. A special shout out to Joanne who was so helpful and professional in keeping things organized and moving along. She made it look easy.Highly recommended!!

Comfortable beds and sofas, and well equipped kitchens. Personable patient staff that are happy to help! We have been staying there for about twenty years and prefer the Flanders over any other place in OCNJ. Their location is key for food, shopping, and rides.

The rooms are very clean and the kitchens are well stocked. The Staff has always been friendly and very helpful. We have stayed at the Flanders a few times during the Easter weekend and in the summer.

We just finished up a 4 day stay at the Flanders Hotel. From start to finish it was just lovely. Everyone at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, the rooms were clean and cozy. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and there were TV's in both rooms.
It is lovely to be able to make a simple breakfast, head out for the day, and know that you can prepare meals if you wish. The location is the best. The restaurant (Emily's) was open for breakfast and lunch and we had breakfast there one morning. It was good. I believe it is open for dinner during the high season. The lovely looking shops were not open during our stay, which was unfortunate, but I understand how it would be difficult to staff the stores when crowds are low (a great trade-off for us!) One thing I will point out, so you know, is that the two pull out pieces of furniture in the living room cannot be used at the same time. Just in case you're counting on two separate beds in the living room. Or at least in my accommodation - perhaps ask ahead. I would definitely stay here again, during this season of spring. We had a lovely little family vacation.

The room was excellent, front desk was kind and courteous, and the ambiance was amazing. The store association even gave a brief lesson on the history when my daughter asked. The room itself had games for my family.... Such a nice and thoughtful touch.

Great central location right at the boardwalk; friendly accommodating staff; suite was perfect for our needs with full kitchen and living/dining area. Fascinating history complete with resident ghost Emily.

Why is this listed here ? It never shows up as a hotel option in any web site or search engine. I don't think it's a hotel with nightly rentals.

Comfortable, quiet, roomy suite with great view of ocean, beach and roller coasters. Restaurant had a great breakfast. The shops offer women's clothing, shoes, jewelry, gifts and more. A bit crowded but lots of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much, we are going back in August.
