Horrible service, I have been going to surf and sand for years I even knew the previous owner. I don't know who owns it now but they need to hire new employee's. When me and my husband got to 12th street around 9:45 we tried to go and rent from surf and sand but no employee's were there. We waited about 15 minutes and still no one showed up (now mind you the tents were open and so they appeared to be open). We ended up renting from Swifts instead but about a half an hour later these boys playing football stopped and went to sit down in front of surf and sand. I mean seriously in stead of working during work hours you're playing football!? Ugh just terrible service!

I used to go to surf and sand for years, I’m not sure what happened but the service went down terribly. The employees made me carry my own chairs when they told me they would set me up themselves. I’d rather carry my own chair and umbrella than go back to surf and sand.

Terrible service, the employees were literal children and set up my umbrella wrong so when the wind came in from the ocean it went flying and we had to chase it down. I do not recommend!

Awesome local staff very helpful and accommodating.They will help with any beach umbrella and also rent their own take it down for you and put it in the sand nice and strudy, they also always have good suggestion for places to eat on and off the island being that they live in the area. The fact that they are local and American is refreshing to being that it is a resort town it's nice to get a local perpecstive on the area. Surf and sand is highly recommended and will not disappoint!

If I could give zero stars I would. The particular employee we just encountered was so rude. We had to wait about 10 minutes so he could take care of the customer before us (no big deal). My sister was getting tired so she sat in the chair and I stood under the umbrella-as he approached I was about to apologize for sitting/standing under the umbrella when he says “you can’t sit in my chair, you need to get up”. At first we thought he was joking, but then he said “I can charge you for sitting there”. Needless to say we were speechless. We told him what we wanted to rent and then again, rudely says, “well i’ll be making two trips”. We could not believe someone would be that rude to a customer, we were so close to not renting but decided to anyway. I understand people have bad days but this was beyond that. Maybe customer service training would be appropriate.
