If i could rate you a zero that is what I would give this scam company. They will charge you 513.00 dollars to run a covid test that is sent from another facility. Make sure you ask what lab they use and if it is this fraudulent company refuse it! Trust me. Look at all the Covid 19 reviews.. its the same trickery story over and over. And most was from the height of covid. They sent my bill to collections.. and guess what??? I dont care! You will not get a cent from me. I even called tye Urgent Care that swabbed me to see if they still use them and told them what happened and all the reviews of being scammed and they said they no longer use them ! Beware!!!!!

We had the same problem as others with the surprise bill two years later for a Covid test done in 2021, received a bill for $538 which was paid by my insurance company back in 2021. I endorsed the check as per their letter sent to me demanded back in 2021 and sent it to them in the return envelope. I thought that the government was covering these tests through the cares act. I was surprised my insurance company covered the test for over $500 for a nasal swab test. The walk in clinic didn't tell me the test was going to cost over $500 when they did the nasal swab. I was sent there by the company I was working for back then for a Covid test. Had no idea they would charge over $500. That is highway robbery and to bill me again 2 years later after it was paid is HIGHWAY ROBBERY and a scam. My old ins. company sent me a copy of the canceled check endorsed by me 2 years ago and it was deposited into a Chase bank account. This is very shady imo.UPDATE: AFTER SENDING THEM A COPY OF THE CANCELED CHECK THAT WAS ENDORSED BY ME AS PER THEIR LETTER TO ME DEMANDED THEY HAVE NOW SENT ME ANOTHER BILL DEMANDING PAYMENT OF $535 FOR THE NASAL SWAB RAPID COVID TEST WHICH WAS SENT THERE BY THE WALK IN CLINIC I WAS SENT TO BY MY THEN EMPLOYER BACK IN 2021. MY INSURANCE CO. BCBS PAID FOR THIS TEST IN FULL, I ENDORSED THE CHECK AS PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS & MAILED IT TO THEM & THEY CASHED THE INSURANCE CHECK AND NOW I AM GETTING THREATENING LETTERS FROM GENESIS LABS THREATENING ME WITH COLLECTIONS. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. ALSO COVID TESTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED BY THE GOVERNMENT SO I WAS SURPRISED THAT MY INS. CO. PAID FOR THEIR RAPID NASAL SWAB TEST IN FULL. DO NOT USE THIS LAB, THEY ARE A SCAM OUTFIT. THIS LAB IS A SICK JOKE.

The audacity this company has to send a bill 3 years after a covid test conducted when the government was covering the costs of testing. I have received 0 communications from them in 3 years and suddenly I am being told it will be sent to collections if I don't pay up?

I have the same billing issues as everybody else that has left a review. This is ridiculous. Did I ever sign a consent form regarding the payment for a procedure or testing. Because I’d like to see that document. I’ve tried to contact this company already in the billing department and they still have not responded probably because they have so many issues. $500 is an insane amount of money …that’s not something you just spring on to people. I demand a phone call back and I don’t want to have to stress out about calling this company multiple times just so that I don’t get sent to collections. follow up—>obviously I already have contacted you via phone calls, voicemails, and emails. I have not gotten/Received any response and I promise that I am keeping records of every time I am calling and leaving voicemails in addition to multiple emails. I do not need the copy and paste comment about who I should contact. I could honestly go down all the reviews and find it myself with how bad your billing department is …This needs to be dealt with. Clearly you have not fix the problem that’s so many others are having. Just some advice maybe you shouldn’t bill people three years later without any notice.

Like the others I just received a bill for a covid test done in Dec 2020. I will not be paying it, as all I am responsible for is my urgent care copay which I paid that day. Also, wasn't the government paying for covid tests? This company should be reported to the better business bureau!Update - I called and emailed your company last week. NO RESPONSE!!

Same experience as others! Was sent a bill for over $500 for a Covid test back in 2021. After speaking with the billing department and submitting an insurance company provided “explanation of benefits” and a check for what the insurance company provided to me to pay genesis, I was still sent a bill for the difference! This was after being told that Genesis policy was to accept the EOB and designated amount by my insurance company as paid in full! Now threatening collections! Tried calling and emailing with no response! What a scam!Update: Genesis responds to my map review by telling me to call billing. I have called billing, multiple times and left multiple messages for a return call. Genesis has not answered or returned any of my calls.

This lab is conducting fraud. Got billed for a covid test I received on 1/22/23. The claim was approved by my insurance, and paid in full. So tell me why I’m getting billed for $538 and will have my info sent to collections if I don’t pay? Which, go right ahead, because I have the documentation to support it. Unprofessional and scummy.

I don’t know if there is a way I can post this review without any star at all. My brother had Covid test done at AFC urgent care back in 2021 and suddenly yesterday I received bill at our house of $550. This is ridiculous that at the time we did that test we didn’t were told that the test was free. Had I known that the test was $500 dollars we wouldn’t have done that. Because this is the same place we spent $1000 dollars for my father to get tested because he did not have insurance at that time. This is very disappointing.

Back in 2020 I had Covid-19 tests at a nearby walk-in medical center. Genesis Laboratory was the lab who processed the results (I was not aware of this), who apparently happens to be out-of-network. Recently, I received notice from a collections agency that I had unpaid medical bills. Apparently, Genesis has been sending bills to an address that I have not lived at for years nor have they ever called me. The lack of due diligence performed by this company is astonishing.

Don't understand why I just received a $500+ bill today (7/28/2023) for a covid test performed back in November 2020! Never received any notices from this lab or my health insurance provider all these years.

This review comes from a patient who has avoided "routine" blood work for well over a year now after having a not so pleasant experience at LabCorp. Well first I should add that I am (was) a very frightened- moreso squeamish patient (yes I work in the healthcare field ..idk) well anyway YOLANDA is beyond words amazing. Not only did she help me in making sure I came into the office at the right time but she also was the one to draw the blood for me. Some people are just good with people and she is. What more could I say. The experience all in all took literally like two minutes. I feel silly for working myself up so much about this for how at ease she made me feel. Thank you Yolanda you might have changed my life. God bless.

My wife went to an AFC Urgent Care on New Year's day. A couple of months later we received a bill for $497 for tests run on her swab. We were never told the testing would cost close to $500. When I called the woman said it was not there problem and I would have to talk to AFC. The manager I also spoke with said nothing she could do and she would just send us to collections.

Amazing turnaround time. Visited an urgent care to get swabbed for RSV and I got my results back in several hours. Gave me invaluable peace of mind going to bed that same night knowing I was negative. In contrast, a friend went to a different facility where they use Quest. Took two agonizing days to get the results back.
