“I am a double leg amputee BTK. Three years ago I bought a power scooter, a Phoenix HD4, from Vidacura, an online outfit in Florida that offered me a 5-year warranty as a come-on. A month ago the scooter died on me. Did Vidacura honor their warranty? No, they opted out with a partial refund, but that's another story. The real problem is, what do I do know? Without the scooter, life is very difficult for me. Through a friend I was referred to Family Medical. They picked up the scooter at my home, looked it over and at first, Larry, the mechanic, told me the machine was shot, it would cost me thousands to repair if I could get it to work at all, and the best move is to just throw it away. I told him to junk it. End of story? Nope, far from it. A few days later Larry called me with good news: he FIXED the scooter. No charge. Apparently it was a bad battery connection. I have been happily driving my scooter for 3 days now. Long story short, I am back in business and Family Medical has earned a loyal customer for life.”
“The anesthetics of the store are rather pleasing, open layouts rendering a customer friendly shopping experience. The staff are friendly and diligent. I called about whether they had a particular DME item. They did the most logical thing (i.e. if you are a good retailer) and went out and searched thier inventory. After they confirmed that item was in stock, it politely advised to come before closing time. Which I did do and found the item in store. When I turned up at the register they recognized the item and pulled out the item from behind the counter and said "you're the one that called..." Furthermore, they helped me confirm that it was the right size. All these things are rather small, simple and easy stuff. However, as a pharmacist, I can say that you would be surprised how many organizations can't duplicate that of service.”

What appeared to be the owner was so gracious enough to reopen his store for a small $15 sale… But I definitely encourage supporting local businesses, as I live in Carlstadt . I only try to support people locally that are mom and pop businesses.

“A rare gem to find a owner ran pharmacy. Of course they CAN’T be compared to the big pharmacy stores. You might wait a few minutes on the phone, they might not have less popular medicines in stock but can get the next morning, they aren’t open 24 hours, they don’t open until 10:00 and aren’t open on Sundays, BUT they will know who you are by name, offer delivery and provide personable service and work tirelessly to solve issues with doctors and insurances. That alone cannot be compared to the big boys. At the end of the day I would not want my parents anywhere else and take comfort in the fact that if I’m not available, my parents are in great hands with them and I know who is coming to their door to deliver.
