I love this Shop Rite. They have good quality items and they always have great deals. The parking lot is huge so I never have any parking issues, and they're opened til midnight. So whenever I want to make late night stops to pick up snacks, its there. I'm glad its close to where I live.

Current mangers treat this place like a playground. No one knows how to get anything done. Many times I've ran in for a few things and don't see anyone working. Mangers chit chatting with the pharmacy ladies or on their phones by the outside doors. Many cashiers don't know what they're doing and have rang my items twice or more than I've purchased. Get your cashiers the training they need before starting to ring up orders on their own.

So, it seems since new management took over, this location is going down hill super fast. This month, I've had to return pre packaged romaine and arugala lettuce because of the wet, wilted , sulphuric stink of a mess they were once the containers were opened. It was as if they were left on a hot truck for a day, then refrigerated. I accidentally bought expired Cracker Barrel Macaroni and cheese this week, since it was on the shelf, and my clementines last month, had bluish mold all over the bottoms in the crate. All returned. Just last night, the computers went down. After an hour of shopping, all customers were told the sore was taking cash only. There was one line set up for customers with no cash, which extended from the registers back to the deli section. Apparently, they had one working credit card machine. There were no apologies to customers. The young man in a grey suit, possibly a manager, was more interested in banter with a female worker than talking with customers on the ridiculous line. To lighten the mood after my one hour wait to use a credit card, I said management should take 20% off for our wait times! The young boy at the register was rather nasty and stated "it's not in our control," to which I replied, "Obviously." There are other options. Stop selling expired produce and instead of walking around in suits talking amongst yourselves, manage your shelves and store. Teach your staff to be polite and to focus on their customers instead of talking to each other, playing around at the registers. The store is no longer what it used to be. The slight remodel job doesn't make up for lack of management.

Just moved to Northvale and for a month I've tried to shop here. I've tried Sunday, Saturday, Tuesday and Friday every time the shelves are bare. The produce department is just terrible and if something is on sale they are out of it. From meat to milk. I am finished getting frustrated I will be shopping elsewhere. I just wonder if someone from upper management has ever tried to shop there? I am surprised they are still in business.

I have an issue with this store because their produce is marked up, while Woo-Ri supermarket sits right behind this store and charges on average a dollar less per pound for their produce. Their fish and meat is also cheaper and fresher. When I spoke to the Shop Rite store manager and told him about the price discrepancy, he basically said sorry, not sorry.

Just went to the bakery and asked if i could just buy 1 cake box for a nine inch cake. I was told, "we can't sell supplies, go to a dollar store." Really?! What's gonna happen? Loss prevention gonna fire you for *selling* a 20 cent box to a local, regular customer? I cant wait till Amazon puts all ShopRites out pf business. You guys have the WORST customer service (not talking about the counter CS btw). Get it together Northvale ShopRite.

I have been coming here for the past 25 years. As of late, I noticed that the prices ring up incorrectly 1 out of every four or five visits to the store. Surpise....Always in favor of the store!!! This almost always happens with my organic purchases. Shame on you Inserra...There are too many other options in the neighborhood to keep coming back.

The hours suit my needs for there are days I get home and find out there isn't a beer nor glass of wine to have. Of course I could then go out but then I have to deal with people. Don't get me wrong, I love people but there are many nights I live to be home and have a glass of wine or beer with dinner. Back to this store, all the guys (and once I saw a woman) are as sweet as can be. Some are quite young and others weathered, but all do their best to help you find whatever you want. Once I broke a beer bottle and felt so bad but the guy that had to clean it up was reassuring that it was no big deal. Oh yeah, the selection is excellent. From affordable to expensive and all price points in between. And convenient cause it's next to two supermarkets I shop at.
