We had a wonderful experience with Maria for my son's 1st haircut at 17 months old. She made him look so cute and he was relaxed and happy in her "chair" (truck). The certificate you get at the end is ridiculously adorable - makes it feel so special.Service: Kids' cuts

This was a wonderful place to take my 18 month old for his second haircut! The salon was quiet, calming, and very fun! The haircut was fast and done very well, considering my baby was freaking out for most of it (as toddlers do)! Overall, it was a great experience and we will be coming back!

Fabiola cut our son's hair and did a wonderful job making him feel at ease. She worked efficiently and the end result was exactly what we had asked for. The whole environment was very kid friendly, would definitely recommend!Service: Kids' cuts

My daughters having been getting their haircut by Debbie at Cookie Cutters for a few years. This visit (August), we didn’t see her name available and used another stylist. When we arrived, the girls were told they’d receive a lollipop and balloon. They were thrilled! My older daughter went first and received a basic trim. Typically at the end, Debbie would do a hairstyle with a bow which looked cute and the girls loved the experience. They did not receive any hairstyle or bow. They had a brief blowout with a standard middle part. They were both disappointed, as was I. At the end of the visit, they received a balloon, no lollipop. More disappointment. The stylist did not speak to the girls during their cut and my five year old was given a remote and told to pick her show. She was clueless with the tv format and remotes, in general. While these are minor occurrences, they cumulatively have resulted in us looking for a new place to receive haircuts. Debbie’s personality and conversation with the kids, bow selection and hairstyles, and end of cut lollies were missed. It was part of the fun of going to Cookie Cutters.Services: Kids' cuts

Maria is wonderful with my grandson. He is four, on the autism spectrum, and violently objected to a haircut this week. But as soon as Maria had him in the “chair” (little red car), he calmed. She counted the cuts (he loves counting), she told him about each shaving tool (color and “gentleness”) and got him to look forward to lollipops and a balloon. At the end he said, “Hey guys, do you like my new look?” OMG we’re still giggling!Service: Kids' cuts

I never had a problem with cookie cutter expect for today. I usually always had Jodi as my son’s barber but unfortunately she is no longer there. She was very compliant and made sure I was content with his haircut. However, today Maria since she was the only one available. I was telling her how I wanted MY sons hair and she decided to IGNORE my request and tell me no that it has to be that her way. To top it all off she was rushing. I wasn’t happy with his haircut or with her behavior. As the parent I am going to be the one to pick how I want my child’s hair especially since I’m paying for it. Last $25 I spend at this place.Service: Haircut

Maria did a great job with our son’s hair which is long, thick and wavy. We couldn’t be happier with the cut. Also she engaged with him, which he appreciated.Service: Haircut

The lady who cut my son's hair did not know what she was doing. It looked so awful! This was his birthday hair cut.

Quick, easy and effective! My 2yo son enjoyed the Netflix while having his hair cut. He's still haircut phobic so making sure the experience isn't "scary" is a huge part of it being a success. The cookie cutters crew was great & helped make our haircut a win. We'll be back!Service: Kids' cuts

I cannot recommend Jodi highly enough — especially for kiddos that do not do well with haircuts. My 3 year old son is autistic with sensory issues, and haircuts have been very hard for him ( and his parents). Jodi was gentle, patient, sweet, and quick. The haircut was great too — but her reassuring, calm, gentle demeanor was what really helped make the haircut a success. My son loved the little slide there which helped him relax before the haircut. He was able to sit in one of the cool cars ( normally my husband has to hold him ) and watch Cocomelon. Very thankful we found Jodi and she will be our go to person for haircuts moving forward!Service: Kids' cuts

I recently had an experience at a children's haircutting place that left me feeling disappointed and concerned. While I understand that working with young children can be challenging, the behavior of the staff, including the stylist named Jasmine, was unacceptable.Throughout the appointment, it was clear that my son was upset and uncomfortable. On arrival, my son went to play on the slide in the waiting area while myself and my wife checked him in. Once he was checked in, Jasmine came and tried to get him off the slide briefly, but then she went back to her station and kept calling for him from there. It was up to my wife and I to playfully get him from the slide to Jasmine's station. He did not want to sit in the car shaped barber chairs that they had at the facility, so getting him into the chair was difficult and there was lots of crying. Eventually, my son became so distraught he jumped out of the chair. Jasmine did not do anything to calm him down, unfortunately. It would have been nice for her to put on some videos on their TV or distract him with a toy, but she did not help with any sort of distraction. Prior to starting to cut his hair, we suggested that she just use scissors since my son hates the sound of razors even at home, but Jasmine said the razor would be better for him. As soon as he heard the razor sound, my son freaked out and started crying. He wanted to leave immediately. There was still no attempt at distraction from Jasmine or the other stylists at Cookie Cutters. In fact, Jasmine just told my wife to hold him down while she cut his hair. While my wife was holding my son down, I was trying to get something on the TV to distract my son since my son was hysterical at this point and there was really no attempt from anyone other than my wife or myself to help calm him down. Jasmine attempted to cut his hair, but unfortunately, he was crying and struggling throughout the process. I understand that this can be frustrating for a stylist, but I was disappointed that Jasmine did not seem to have any strategies or techniques to help calm him down or make him feel more comfortable.Additionally, I found the behavior of the other staff members to be concerning. While they did not engage in any overtly rude behavior, they seemed to lack training or experience in working with children, especially ones that freak out over a haircut. I believe that a children's haircutting place should have a warm and welcoming environment, with staff members who are trained in child development and child-friendly techniques. None of that was present at Cookie Cutters. My son was left with a very jagged looking haircut with uneven sides at the end of it after Jasmine eventually gave up. I also feel like they weren't willing to give my son the attention he deserved since it was the end of the day. They wanted to take a picture of my son at the end of the session and he wasn't smiling or looking in their direction. I kept hearing comments from the other staff about how my son "was really difficult to photograph" and why a 3 year old should not have been crying during a haircut.Overall, while I appreciate that the staff at the children's haircutting place were doing their best, I do not feel that their behavior met my expectations for a professional and welcoming environment for children. I would recommend that they invest in training for their staff members and consider strategies to create a more child-friendly atmosphere.I will not be bringing my children to Cookie Cutters again and I will not return for their "first haircut" certificate.Services: Kids' cuts

Hair cuts have become somewhat of a traumatic experience for our little one. He has Autism Spectrum Disorder and has sensory issues that make getting a haircut nearly impossible. We went into Cookie Cutters last week to see Jodi and let me tell you, She was absolutely amazing! She was patient and kind and so understanding to our little boys needs. She worked with him with such a good attitude and kindness. She also took the time to listened to all our concerns and we never felt rushed. The manager was also super friendly and accommodating to us and our son’s needs. She booked us at a time that she knew would work best for our situation and I appreciate that very much. In addition the place itself was so cool and entertaining for children. All and all this place gets a 10/10 from us and we will definitely come back.Service: Kids' cuts

Jodi was great with my two girls' first haircut! One daughter has curly hair and Jodi did a great job trimming it so that her hair will curl better. Great experience!
