Used to be good auto repair shop but recently had my car towed there changed me money but was told that they don’t have scanner to fix the problem I was able to fix the broken wire without any tools

Came with urgency since my exhaust broke on a Sunday night, they were willing to look and give me enough to bit before doing the work. I thought it was going to be a bigger job but they only replaced what needed to be replaced. I asked if they had time to look at another part of my car, and they were even willing to do that at work. Finally, they found a slightly in a brake line and brought it to my attention, and of course I asked them if they would do that too. I left there feeling I like I had a sound vehicle, even though I know I have to do some maintenance on it, and a piece of mind. Thank you!

This is a very dishonest work shop, into making some quick bucks from innocent and trusting customers. Basically they trap you, fix something else in the car and charge you money without fixing your actual car problem. My car gives some noise when it runs. The guy at the front "inspected and confirmed" it is a belt problem. Charged me 100+ dollars though the problem was not solved. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! The guys at the billing desk have one goal, make money!

We used to go this garage for our cars when it was under the old owner for long long time ago. Tge old owner was a very technical and honest Taiwanese guy. After he sold the business to the new owner several years ( don’t quite remembered) ago. The old owner was there to help the new owner continually the business operation. So we still went there and It was ok for a while. In the past few years, we found that under the new owner they took a lot of short cut and not honesty at all. For example, we just had brake rotors and pads replaced but it wore out sooner than before . (We did not drive as much as we did before). They either used poor quality brakes or only rotate the pads …. the same situation happened on several of our family cars. We are not going back to there any more.

Giving 1 star because google wont let me post without a star. I would never go here again.
I had issue with my car not accelerating as usual and had check engine light on. This place was very near my office so I dropped my car there and asked them to take a look and let me know what the issue is and what’s the financial damage would be to fix it.
Couple of hours later the lady at the garage called me and told me there is engine oil leak and would cost $550 to fix which involves engine oil clean up and replacing a valve.
I thought it’s a lot of dollars and wanted to take a second opinion.
I told her the same and went to pick up the car. I was ready to pay whatever $20-30 they take to look up the check engine light code and tell you what’s wrong and an estimate to fix it.
But as soon as I told her I wanted to take second opinion, she asked me to pay $150 stating there was a lot of engine oil clean up that they had to do and I have to pay for all that if I want to take my car.
I argued that she never gave me a heads up that there is a lot of engine oil leak and they will charge me $150 just to get me the quote on how much it would cost me to fix it.
I thought it was completely random and she recognized that someone else would fix this for much less and I won’t come back to her to get it fixed. It was truly a move to get $$ from a customer she knew is never coming back.
With taxes, I ended up paying $162 for absolutely nothing.
As you would guess, G.F. Auto Repair and Transmission Service in same area fixed the engine oil leak and replaced the valve for almost half the price and in addition checked all other critical aspects of the drive as this would otherwise cause engine overheating and failure.
Stay away from this hungry for money with zero customer care place!

Stay away from this place at all costs! I drove to this location since it was in the next town over. I had to get my car inspected as it is an older model but in good condition and because of NJ winters and recent snow storms. My brakes were better before I handed them my car key. Now I have to step on the brake all the way down. They charged me $40 for the inspection. I asked for my money back but didn't get it. In effect I spent $40 to get my brakes ruined and to have my day wasted. The waiting area had little to no heat. Do yourself a favor and go to a national chain! This should set an example that such places can ruin your car and you can be in danger of an accident because of their bad work.
