“Just terrific. A vestige of a bygone age. Incredibly, the store is located in the driveway of a residential house on a quiet, leafy street. (Almost certainly grandfathered in.) Anyway, it's an old-time tennis shop staffed by relatives of the man who founded the place in 1913. Good, high-end racquet selection; good accessories; even has some sneakers and clothes. Super-friendly staff is very accommodating and even generous with pricing and the occasional freebie. I feel good about patronizing this place. I mean, tennis warehouse is great, but do they really need your business?”

“Came in to do a “swap out” of my almost 10-year-old Down Sweater, Kpacu downstairs explained to me how the process works and I was just blown away by how easy it is to swap out gear like this— huge kudos to Patagonia for holding a policy like this.Also should mention that Jeff upstairs was excellent. Jeff artfully explained to me why the Micropuff is what I should get instead of the Down sweater given the reduced downside (if you’ll pardon the pun) with the former when it gets wet vs the latter, and how the weight-to-warmth ratio and pack ability is much better with the Micropuff.Jeff even went to great lengths to place a hold for the Micropuff in the Patagonia Williamsburg location, major props to Jeff for being so helpful and for being so willing to impart his knowledge— I left the store feeling really good, and more informed about, what decision to make regarding Patagonia’s gearing options :)”
“I love this place. I'm there every weekend. It's a lil dated and could use some upgrades to the bowling area. After all it is a bowling alley. They built a new bigger arcade but probably should have fixed alley with some new lighting /painting etc. overall it's a great place that will accommodate regular bowlers with lane requests. They DO have a bar but that's not their main goal of getting to go there like other places. Bolero for example caters to the 20yr old crowd that wants to go out once in awhile. It's more like a bar with a bowling ally. Bowler city is our choice. We've met some cool friends there too. Regulars :). If you go there you like it :)”

“I went there this past Friday, and Donovan and Radical Fencing are amazing!! He was very patient in getting me the equipment I needed (a chest protector for Jianfa, Chinese Swordsmanship) and I was very impressed with Donovan’s level of service and helpfulness. When I told him how I had trouble getting my blade checked through at Heathrow Airport to attend a recent workshop, he told me that fencers should never fly through there, as Heathrow security always makes checking bladed weapons an issue. Also, Radical Fencing has a beautiful selection and range of products, and it’s obvious that this business takes pride in offering items with superior design. They don’t just do it well, they do it with panache! Radical Fencing also repairs bags and equipment of their own design! So this place is a must-go-to stop for fencers and other athletes who train with bladed weapons, like me.”

“I came in today to replace a very cheap backpack I had had for seven years that was falling apart. I am a grad student and building my writing career, and doing lots of commuting in the city like most New Yorkers, so I need a good backpack. I chose this brand and to come to this store because if I was going to spend $80+ on a backpack, it better be heavy duty and sustainable. Anyways, I am not disappointed with my purchase nor experience at Fjallraven at all. Martin, the sales clerk who assisted me, was knowledgeable in the products and helped me to select the right backpack for my needs. I also had a budget and he helped me with that too. He helped me select a color, took care of my purchase with ease, and even allowed me to pack all my stuff in my new backpack I had just purchased. I have used my new backpack for half a day, and love it. Martin recommend the Raven 28, and showed me the port color, which is what I purchased. It is well mad, durable, and feels light even when heavy. Martin had informed me the straps and back of the backpack were re-enforced for heavy duty use-that is no joke. That structure made for ease of use, and didn't make me tired or achy and I went grocery shopping after and needed to put some of my groceries in my new backpack in addition to the totes I brought along. The Raven 28 packs a lot yet remains lightweight for the user, plus it looks great. It was rainy today too when I purchased it, and the backpack did well in the rain and none of items were wet and I carry books and notebooks even when not in class. I highly recommend this shop and their products. I will come again, and recommend to friends. Definitely ask for Martin if he is working that day-I know he helped me so much and went above and beyond in his customer service and represented the brand well. If he helped me out, he will help you out too.”
