I have a real pair of native American mukluks. I needed to apply a surface to walk around the urban area. Mukluks were really made for soft grounds. He changed the bottom of the ? boots without destroying the native American moccasin design. They are mukluks NOT sneakers.

I ripped through my skate boot at Branch Brook and took here to this cool little Asian guy. Fixed in it in a day at a very good price that I wasn't expecting.

I live close to this place so I wanted to try it out I work in Wall Street, NYC so, I normally bring my shoes to a shoe maker there. I bought three pair of boots to this shoe repair place. Two needed heel repairs and I asked that he shine all 3 pairs. I picked my shoes up a week later and they appeared to be worse then what they were! He attempted to fix a heel on a pair of brown booties, botched it and then painted the heel another color to cover it up. When I asked him if he shined any of the boots (because they didn't appear to be shined to me) he said yes. My shoes were not shined. He demonstrated this by taking my boot and putting it up against some type of buffing machine he had on the wall. YOU BUFFED MY SHOES?!? No shoe polish, no water, no elbow grease! $54 is what I was charged for a job I considered to be $8 or LESS! When I stated that I was unhappy the merchant immediately got upset and ignorant and told me that he didn't care if I went some place else. 2 pair's of Sam Edelman booties and some very expensive Vince Camuto boots that I've had for years, RUINED. Without one care from the merchant. I expected more but, wasn't surprised considering the location. I'll continue to take me shoes to Minas shoe repair on Wall Street! He treats his customers with respect and he doesn't "buff " your shoes, he shines them! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR SHOES!!!! What a joke!.

More than satisfied with this little shoe repair shop. $64 total for a half-sole and heel replacement that's nearly indistinguishable (from the side) from the original sole. Shine was solid, though not overpowering. Owner of the shop was friendly without being too talkative. Location is right downtown next to Military Park. And store closes after 5 so that I can stop in on my way home from work. I'll be using this shop whenever necessary for the foreseeable future. It's a shoe repair shop that did a great job for a decent price (at least by Manhattan standards). What's not to like?

Once upon a time, I sold industrial supplies. I was in business casual and wore work boots. Now, I wear dress shoes even with business casual. I really can't believe the wear these shoes have seen in the last few months. So why four stars? -I needed the shoes in 48 hours, before I had a chance to ask he told me the shoes will be ready the next day. -they accept credit cards -The repairs were top notch, although I feel that the shoe shine could have been a little better. So I'll be back before long.
