I just want to thank Kevin for helping me with my taxes. I went to another H&R Block in the Newark area and my taxes were completely butchered. After contacting the previous branch with no help, H&R Block customer service sent me to this branch. Kevin was immediately available, he eased my mind and was able to amend my return right away. Not only was Kevin kind, the rest of the staff in the office was so nice and helpful. Thank you again!

Dropped off my taxes paperwork March 31. On tax deadline day i call multiple times to find out when I can come in to sign and submit, turns out my paperwork was assigned to someone on vacation until end of April. Front desk person assured me they’d get someone to do them asap - but no offer to file an extension so at this point I’m already paying late fees x3 (federal, ny & nj). It’s been 3 days and no word from anyone… phone just rings forever and the offices are closed (just walked there to check) - when I was ASSURED they’d be there working all week. Hopefully I can track down all my paper work in the coming weeks so I can have my taxes prepared sometime soon and pay all the late fees the government will surely demand. Overall: this is UNNACCEPTABLE behaviour from any type of business and despicable customer service especially when dealing with people’s financial well being. Extremely disappointed overall, hoping for a resolution in the coming weeks but doubt it’ll be that easy.

Do not waste your time here. You will end up having to pay somewhere else to file your taxes properly. Joyce did my taxes and I should have immediately gone elsewhere because she didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing but it was our first time and I gave the benefit of the doubt. We had to come back twice because there were issues the first time when she tried to file. We paid their fee and thought our taxes were filed back in January. Come to find out almost 2 months later that there is an issue with one of our state returns. If I didn’t call to find out we would have never known. Joyce has not reached out back to me to let me know the issue is fixed and I have been trying to reach a manager for days and all these people do is give you the runaround. I paid for my taxes to be filed so why aren’t they. Best believe I will be reporting H&R block for fraud. You can’t charge for a service and not deliver especially when dealing with peoples taxes.
