The bed was very comfortable, that’s definitely a plus. You can’t beat the proximity to Manhattan- just two stops and 19 minutes away. The bathroom was quite small and difficult to navigate in. The sink was very high. It was awkward. The hot water didn’t stay hot for very longI have lusted over a Doubletree Hotel for the warm chocolate chip cookie. While I did receive a cookie, it wasn’t warm. I think it had been made hours before and it felt like staff was going through the motions. The cookie was over rated.Nearby activities: Choose this hotel for the proximity to NYC. It felt very safe during the day to use the skybridge to connect to Newark Penn Station. There was also a lot more security and police during the day.Safety: I felt safe once inside the hotel. Not so safe out of the hotel.Walkability: It did not feel safe to walk around the hotel. Even in daylightNoteworthy details: The train station is across the street but as a solo female traveler I was leery returning at night. What a difference to enjoy the walkway above that connects the hotel with the train station during the day. It felt dicey at night. Lots of aggressive panhandlers.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Prudential Center since Newark isn’t known for being very safe. The location is great because you can walk along an indoor strip that leads almost all the way to Prudential Center and is also connected to the train station. Staff was nice and gave us a goodie bag upon arrival. All our requests were met within a reasonable time. The hotel room itself is a little bit more on the modern side. I liked how much space there was.My complaints are that the room could’ve been washed more. There were some suspicious stains on the curtains and floor. Also their vending area is a little scammy. The prices aren’t marked for any of the goods and we were told the money would just be charged to the hotel room when we got 2 candy bars from there. The price ended up being $15 which is extremely high and we didn’t think they’d overcharge by that much.

Easy comute across from Newark Penn Station. The room was nice. Asked for Foam pillows in the app but did not remind the front desk when I got there. The room was by the elevator but did not hear that noise, as I heard the noise of the air conditioning unit all night long.

After checking in we had to switch rooms because of a plumbing issue (after reading these reviews I guess that's been an ongoing problem) wished I had read the reviews before booking ?. Front desk was more than happy to find us another room which was fine except now we had no towels (a problem easily fixable with one call to housekeeping and another to the front desk). For some reason it wasn't fixed. Towels never came and I needed up begging the front desk at 2am for towels so my family can shower before our flight at 6am. It was humiliating for the clerk to tell me she could give us 2 towels for my family to share!! I wish I was making this up... as a Hilton Honors member I felt cheated of the experience I'm used to receiving. I never mind paying because I expect a certain quality of service which was not delivered... the hotel wasn't booked up, no convention, no weather storm or flight delays, just poor management of resources.Rooms: Dated.

Location is good with Penn Station next to it, rooms are OK but service in general is not good at all. Staff at front desk feels like they are in hell and don't want to be there. If you call to request anything, it takes hours to do it. Additionally the room was not cleaned for 3 days after the do not disturb sign was removed and only after I called 3 times to have it cleaned.Safety: Area around the hotel at night is not secure. Lots of suspicious individuals hanging out of the station.

We arrived Sunday night at 930, no rooms were available. I got my room at 11 pm but some people who I was with got their room at 11h30 pm. I understand that with flight cancellations, people stayed longer but the hotel management should have called my company to let them know of the issue with room availability so we could get rooms somewhere else. Some people got in maybe 45 minutes after us and walked straight to their rooms after checking in. That's not a way to treat your clients.Very poor management. Housekeeping was still working at midnight to get those rooms ready.Carpets could get a deep clean everywhere, rooms and hallways. Not the cleanest hotel.Location is convenient, right in front of Newark Penn Station. You're arriving at New York Penn Station in about 20 minutes with NJTransit trains.

Hotel a touch dated but not too bad, a clean room, great TV, bathroom was clean too. Check in experience was pleasant, room wasn't ready but I arrived at 12:30, they had a room for me in 15-20, minutes, that's pretty quick. Finding the parking lot is a little tricky, this hotel is like a fortress but once I got into the lot it's fine, a little cramped but not a big deal. Restaurant has good hours, decent food and good services. Super close to Penn Station. If you have to be in Newark it's a good place to stay.

We always stay here when we come to NYC! It's a very nice hotel with good food and the indoor walkway to the train station is finally open again (though it closes at 7pm). So convenient and rooms are nice and comfortable. And you get that signature Hilton chocolate chip cookie at check in. Yeah, you pay for parking, but it's still cheaper than trying to park in the city IMO. Great place and I absolutely will continue to come back.

Biggest pet peeve with this place is that no one told us they validated parking causing us to spend $50 more than necessary. When we finally did find out after our first day (yes we paid 50 for parking in one day) no one offered to make it right in any way. The parking lot is super tight as well. The staff was nice otherwise but its ridiculous that the excuse was the front desk lady was new. Overall Disappointing for a 4 Star hotel. The room was small, and you can hear the heavy doors closing all night long. All in all a mostly meh experience. Book somewhere else. Not what I expected from a Hilton branded hotel. Would not book again.

Very pleasant stay... we were on the 7th floor and the public spaces and our room was extremely clean and well kept. Front desk staff was great, and while the menu selection at the restaurant was on the smaller side - the food was extremely good! Will not hesitate to stay again when in town.

Cleanliness is an issue. The carpet and bathroom floor were dirty, and stained. There was a glass spilled in the hallway the 3 days I was there, nobody picked it up! Location and lobby services is a plus, but I wish they were more clean.

Booked a room because it was near a concert venue for my girlfriend's birthday. Drove over 2 1/2 hours to be told room was not ready. Couldn't shower and dress for birthday dinner before show. After waiting 3 hours we left our luggage and headed to venue. Finally was able to check in At Midnight. Thanks for

Not a Hilton worthy place to stay. Please think twice before you book this location. The bathroom sink was clotted. Requested for fixing from the front desk; it was a no show. We did everything on the bath top. No hair dryer found in the room; hair dryer was delivered after a 25 min call to the front desk and 50 min wait. Basic necessities are not in placed. We checked out this morning and made a point to talk to the manger while waiting for breakfast, which we were promised for a 15$ towards the breakfast at the check in point. The server looked confused. Again, we had to get the manager into the room. It took 35 min. To get our oatmeal, a bagel, and a croissant. We are Hilton Diamond members. Ideal location to be next to the train station and airport. Airport crews don’t even bother to be here. This tells a lot. Our last time here.

Very good location. The rooms were clean and nice. The only bad thing is you have to drag your luggage down a set of stairs then all the way to the hotel and up escalators. Otherwise everything was great.

Stayed here during a weekend visit to NYC. We could conveniently catch a train into the city from Penn Station right across the street so we wouldn't have to worry about driving into the city or finding parking. The only issue we had was our pickup truck wouldn't fit in their garage. Thankfully security let us know before we even checked in and they cleared a spit for us right in front so we had no parking issues.
