Inside the building, which is pretty nice. Up the stairs and to the left if entering via the main road

Chase's bank services aren't the issue. Chase funds climate change, more than any bank in the world, with huge investments in the fossil fuel industry. Don't invest in a bank that uses your money to destroy our children's future.

SHOULD BE -5 * RATING. I signed in at 208pm (10/31/19); the whiteboard said approx. 30 minutes wait. The manager came by ~220pm and told everyone waiting it should be about 20 minutes. At 238pm, mgr Abilio Varajao tells me that they are only doing new accounts by appointment today. When I asked him why this was not made known BEFORE I waited 30 minutes, he said he will get someone to help me, it should be 5 minutes. I asked him to open the account - his response, Managers don't open accounts (really?). At 252pm, I asked the Carlos how much longer he will be - he said 'I don't know, maybe another 5 minutes'. By now, it was clear I was dealing with people who had little to no ethical grasp of reality. After waiting almost an hour, and repeatedly asking the manager for assistance - not realizing it was so 'beneath the manager' to assist a new client - I left. Manager's only response was no response - WHY WASN'T I TOLD THEY WERE ONLY OPENING ACCOUNTS BY APPOINTMENT? WHY DOES A CHASE BRANCH MANAGER NOT OPEN ACCOUNTS WHEN THERE ARE CLIENTS WAITING? Guess I might as well be talking to myself.

Just tried calling this POS Chase 18 times...before 5PM No answer...the fact that there's no voicemail or place you on hold is unbelievable. They just want to go home and don't want to deal with customers Closing my account and moving on to a better bank

Not my favorite chase bank. No real parking around and when you finally get in there is usually one teller helping a line full of guests. There are 3 atms in the front , which 2 is them dispense $5s which is very convenient. The staff isn't super friendly but they're also not terrible. Wouldn't hurt to smile on occasion. The security guards they have are ALWAYS terrible. Good luck on your visit! *please vote below if you enjoyed he review*

Ok Chase, this location is in prime Newark. I work a few blocks from here, and only come by here when I am pressed for time or desperate; I usually go to the Montclair location. Came here today..long story short, let's talk about the guards: Being former military, I have a zero tolerance for anyone who wears a uniform regardless of the organization without pride. The guards look HORRIBLE! Is a bank robber to take that bank serious? Wow! Chase, please stop. The guards there are your face and image. As for customer service, it is mediocre. The bank is also not tidy. Please get this location together.

This review is especially for Mark A. Cheatam however all the employees around him seemed equally component and polite. I was told by my Chase bank in Chicago that all I needed to do to raise my withdrawal limit on my debit card was to call the bank and have more in my account than I wanted to raise it by. So I call from the airport hotel getting ready to go over seas for 5 months. They transfer me 6 times and finally tell me I need to go to a branch to get my withdrawal limit raised. I'm in NJ. I don't know how many of you have tried to drive in NJ. If you are not from there it is such a nightmare. So we get a cab thinking this is going to be an in and out process of going into the branch and getting my limit raised, boy was a wrong. My banker was Mark A. Cheatam. The way he handled my case you would think he was the one leaving the country later that day. He stayed on the phone with customer service for 45 minutes and never lost his cool but also never settled for less than what I needed. At the end of our transaction he gave me his email address and told me that if I had any problems to just email him from over seas and he would take care of it. I felt so comforted to know that even from the other side of the world I had a contact to take care of me should things go bad while I was over seas. Thanks Mark!
