Has anyone noticed how the owner "Gary" has become a really bitter old man? He used to be so kind, not anymore. He has had a lot of personal problems, maybe. Still no excuse. I know many previous customers who think he has become very surly, and no longer shop at his store

The best cider selection in the area. They have an entire walk in fridge of it, and the owner can tell you about pretty much any one of them. Everyone I’ve encountered working there has been incredibly nice, too.

I love the store but why are they still making mandatory to wear masks when the state has no more mask mandates? They will start losing a lot business for that. People are tired of masks and might choose to go to another store where masks are optional .

The man that runs this store is rude was like this before COVID and is still like this I will never walk into his store again. I thought if give him another chance. Mask mandate is lifted he still has a sign on his door. In the past he's always been rude making remarks about my friend and about me. To many other stores in the area that are much nicer to customers. Will go to them.

Love this store. Gary and his staff are always helpful, and have a good selection of wine, beer and liquor. They will order anything you want that they don't have. They always offer to carry my purchases to the car. Gary is local and his store has been in New Providence for longer than I have (I've been here 26 years) and I like to support local owners.When my kids were in elementary school Gary supplied ice for our big fundraiser and wouldn't take any public credit because he didn't think it would be appropriate for a liquor store to be thanked by an elementary school. That impressed me.

Why is the owner so rude? My mother (89YO) was in his shop to buy a bottle of wine and her mask slipped down below her nose. He asked her to 'put it on!" She did and then it slipped again....again, she is 89. He threatened to kick her out if she doesn't 'Put it on!" My mother apologized not realizing it slipped, did I mention she is 89?? Finally, she approached him and very calmly said "You're not very nice"...His reply? "if you don't like it you can go somewhere else." Gary (I think that is your name) do you or did you have a mother? Is/was she older? How would you like it if someone treated her as nasty as you treated my mother? I will do everything I can to let people know that you are a RUDE, NASTY and DISRESPECTFUL business owner!

The team of people working here are literally the best. Super helpful with 0% attitude. Too many other liquor stores have staff that make you feel inferior when you talk about what you like, these folks just want you to find something you like - not prove how smart they are about beer, wine and liquor or how perfect their palate is against yours. Gerry's team did a curb delivery of 12 different killer IPAs and 2 cases of wine in under 10 mins. This is the local biz to support right now.
