Salt Seafood & Oyster Bar
103 Church St, New BrunswickSalt is hands down the best pre-theater dinner in New Brunswick. We totally enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer and 2 entree specials: a red snapper and a seared tuna. Highly recommended! Been there several times and already looking forward to going back.

Friend's Cafe
52 Robinson St, New BrunswickVery cute pet friendly cafe. One of the firsts around in my area. I am so glad there's a place that also caters to our furry friends. Food was good and the drinks here were amazing. Our pups loved their food and the atmosphere. It's so nice to let them just hang out and engage with other furry buddies. I recommend the dragonfruit and açaí lemonade, wayyyy better than Starbucks. I wish I can drink a whole pitcher lol.

Ale 'N 'Wich Pub
246 Hamilton St, New BrunswickThe bartender named Pierce is very rude to customers and refuses to give out water when asked. I recommend the bar overall, but not this specific tender.

Dashen Ethiopian Cuisine
88 Albany St, New BrunswickBest Ethiopian cuisine in New Jersey and one of our favorite restaurants. The food is amazing and we can never get enough. Family-style eating at its best. We especially love the beef and lamb dishes, and the veggies are awesome, especially the collard greens. Highly recommended.

Fritz's
115 Easton Ave, New BrunswickTook a chance on this restaurant passing through on the way to the airport. The burgers were huge and awesome! My husband and I each ordered a side of fries and we definitely could have shared one -- huge amount. Wish the cashier would have let us know when we ordered. We sat outside on the porch and enjoyed one of the first beautiful spring days. Tons of college kids out so it was fun people watching.

Buns N Shakes
112 Church St, New BrunswickThis is a great halal place not too far from the train station. The prices are quite reasonable, especially with the combo deals, and they have a great variety of burgers for people who prefer chicken or beef, or even mac and cheese/cheetos on their burgers! My brother and friend got the beef burger with the mac and cheese on it, and they both loved it. I personally like the classic chicken burger or the Chick Melt with fries and a soda. Their burger sauce is great and their portions are huge. The atmosphere is quite nice as well, with room to sit and eat.Dietary restrictions: This place caters to people who only eat halal.Parking: It's on a very busy road with limited street parking, so I prefer to walk from on campus.

Cambo Box - Southeast Asian Cuisine
342 George St, New BrunswickI’m pretty picky with foods that I like and I’m trying this kind of food for the first time, but I really liked it. I thought the sauce was amazing. The food was great and there was something about it. It did not feel like junk food and I didn’t have much guilt eating it. Definitely coming back for more. And I’m so glad they’re Halal!Dietary restrictions: All their food is Halal.

Diesel and Duke
139 Easton Ave, New BrunswickPreface: atmosphere is pretty negligible because it's purely a takeout place with a (very very small, like 4 standing people) inside. But service is fast and overall it's a good place for a quick burger and fries. The burgers might be lacking a little in terms of juiciness, but overall they have great taste, and I would recommend the Smokeshow. I think the onion ring gets overpowered, though. The Cajun fries didn't taste very Cajun to me, but they were alright. I would compare them to Five Guys fries. The Cajun fries have similar texture but are lacking somewhat in taste. I would recommend the poutine over them, but obviously the poutine is more expensive.Vegetarian options: Has an impossible burger
