We had a wonderful experience stopping by this shop: not only could they restore my vintage chair with such skill and care, but they were so pleasant to work with. I will definitely be back!

After 17 years, the seat cushions on our pair of desk chairs needed a new makeover. We called a handful of upholstery shops that were local to us. I had to clear my ears with a Q-Tip at some of the prices these places were quoting us. "Is that for one chair or two???" Goodness, might as well get new ones. I even ordered two from Amazon. Built one of them and hated how it looked against our home office desks. Took it apart while mumbling )#%&(&% as I put the whole thing back in the cardboard box to return. Yeah, you try doing that, it is no fun. I also watched DIY YouTube vlogs to see if maybe I could do it myself. Nah, better not!! I actually found Ed's Upholstering on Google. Called them up and they gave us a quote that made me repeat the price back twice because I couldn't believe it. On the same day, we took the chairs to the shop. We were greeted immediately with a big hello from Ed's son, Dorsha. We chatted a bit about how long the shop has been around (for my Yelp review writing) and they have been in business since 1978. I got to meet Ed while he was busy sewing. Dorsha says that his dad still does most of the work. You can bring your own fabric, choose one that they have in the shop or order from their swatch books. Dorsha took one look at our torned up seat cushions and showed us a fabric they had that matched the old one. This was at no extra cost. Final product: I am beyond pleased with how they turned out. Thanks, Ed, for making my old chairs brand new again.

The most professional, high quality workmanship! We had 6 chairs reupholstered and the process was painless. Had ample time to look at samples and the chairs were delivered on time as promised. I would highly recommend this business.

Stay away if not..run from this business and especially the owners son Dorsha. Got my settee stained by his worker Jahangere who by the way wrote a review here ,and didn't get the colors i asked. Also, the reupholstered done by Dorsha was that of an amatuer-glued and not stapled. When asked to fix Dorsha refused and ignored my text.

Ed has reupholstered eight chairs for me over the years, and I have nothing but good things to say. He helped me pick out a material within my budget. The work was done expeditiously. Quality work at a fair price. He shop looks like a place from the past. Ed is a nice guy to work with. Quality service all around!

I had two antique chairs reupholstered, for total cost of greater than $1,500. One was done beautifully -- I would give 5 stars for that. The other chair had two serious problems (I would give 0 stars): 1) the large pattern was not centered, though the patterns on the back and the seat were aligned, AND I had specifically asked that they carefully center the fabric's pattern; 2) either they substituted a fabric for the fabric I ordered or they reversed the fabric, with the wrong side out. We had just learned of an serious illness in the family when the second piece was delivered, so in the grand scheme of things I just wanted strangers out of my house. I have other reupholstery work to be done; I will not use this shop again.

This small business has been around for years but you might drive right by it if you did not know what you were looking for. The shop is old and worn in appearance but don't be put off by this! It's owned by Ed Kulkinow and he still does most of the work, sometimes with the help of his son. I have been doing business with him for years and have referred friends and family. I have had Ed upholster new furniture, reupholster old or worn out items and make cushions for indoor and outdoor furniture. He does excellent work, will use your fabric or help you choose something from his large stock (he can also order fabric like Sunbrella if you like) and will make things to your requirements. If you want high-quality craftsmanship, finished seams, welting, invisible zippers, etc. this is the place. It's not cheap, but like they say: you get what you pay for.
