A dealer and another repair shop said a new engine was needed on my 2013 Prius V; the latter offered to “dispose” of car at no cost (I suspect they would have repaired and sold it). Extensively researched shops specializing in hybrid engine repairs:

Kyle, Walko Hybrid Technician fixed my car in 2 weeks (after sitting in my driveway, for 1 year). Asked me for car symptoms:
• Check engine light displayed;
• Engine revved, without me pressing on gas;
• Jack hammer or slight fluttering noise, when accelerated from a stop (due to coolant leaking into engine and then drying up); and
• Diagnostic codes from my T-Mobile tool (engine misfires).
He provided details and pricing for me to make needed decisions. After repairs made, my car drives like new, even though it has 226,000 miles:
• Head gasket replaced;
• Water pump replaced;
• Brake master cylinder module replaced; and
• Damaged engine cylinder repaired by machine shop.
Any NJ hybrid owner, who needs car repairs should go to Walko. You won’t regret it!”

“I was recently in Flemington visiting my elderly mother, and I wanted to get her brakes checked before leaving town, as something didn't seem right. I went on YELP and saw 5 star reviews for Auto Oasis, so I called and was connected with George, the owner. I can't say enough great things about this man. He checked my mom's car over immediately, and gave me the good news that her brakes are fine, just an older car. As I was sitting in the waiting room, another regular customer came in and asked how long I've been coming to George for car repairs. I told him the story about checking YELP reviews since I didn't live in Flemington any longer, and I was in search of an honest mechanic in the area. Sam took a look at my car and within minutes he asked me to pull my car next to the garage door. Sam then proceeded to work on the car door and remove the scratches! Talk about service! I went to other dealerships where I felt weary and did not trust what the salespeople were saying to me, but the experience was much different at Ford. We ran into an issue where something very minor had to be tended to within the first few weeks of delivery and the service/sales department made sure I was taken care of, going above and beyond to make sure the issue was resolved. The process was seamless and they even provided a shuttle for me to get home and car delivery so I barely had to adjust my work day. Give him any car he will dissect it up for you whether it's a motorhaul, transmission swap, any other repair, etc. No gimmicks here it is what is honest upfront. I told him I need new Mounts for my Jeep. He said let us have a look at it thouroughly first before moving forward. You can't go wrong with Dave at all.
