So I have waited to see the end result but after 1000 miles I have to say that the quality of workmanship is beyond reproach. I have a Ford Diesel with 250000 miles and had a catastrophic engine failure. I was recommended to Rays from another mechanic in town because they would not touch the job. I sat down with Ray and he outlined my options and costs along with his recommendations, man this guy knows diesels. After discussion, we decided to change the entire engine which was the best return on investment. Once the engine arrived Ray and Hunter worked the issue and got me back on the road. No issues noted and have 1000 miles I am going strong. Hats off to Christine at the front desk for coordinating the whole thing!! It turned out to be a GREAT first experience with this shop, I think I have found the elusive Honest Mechanic! Thanks Ray and Team!!

They're so busy because they're so good. In this heat wave, they squeezed me into their schedule to fix my AC, and they did. Not only that, but they changed my oil, and checked my tires! I really appreciate the great service and the time they took to explain it. It's really wonderful to find a great mechanic, charging reasonable prices. I lucked out with Ray's Service!

Best service anywhere. Honest. Cares about their patrons. Been bringing my vehicles to them for a quarter century. Even after moving to Ocean County, I take my car forty minutes up the road to be seen by them. Will allow no one else to work on my car.

If you're looking for a local honest mechanic these are your guys!When I lived in Neptune my car died so I had it towed into Rays. As a woman with an old beater for a car I'm always sceptical of mechanics at first. From the moment I met Linda, the wonderful woman at the front desk, I felt a little more at ease. She was honest and real and treated me like a human. It ended up being the alternator and of course because of the placement it was expensive. They were understanding and amazing to work with.Sadly I moved to north jersey and had car issues again. I took it to a local shop up here and they said it was a faulty alternator and explained to me to take it back to the original mechanic - that this can happen and it's not the mechanics fault but it should be under warranty if they were an honest mechanic. With my luck I was nervous but had nothing but a good experience with Ray's.So I called them back and even though they were very busy they got me in the same day and did what they do and came to the same conclusion. Not only was it covered by the warrenty but they took EXCELLENT care of me! I know this took hours of labor and I'm beyond grateful for thier help during an insane time!If I am ever in the area or a friend needs a mechanic I will definitely recommend Ray's!
