Absolutely the worst mortgage company I have ever had. I am a disabled veteran and my identity was stolen. Bottom line.... Freedom mortgage does not care and reported me to the credit bureau. My family cannot do anything anymore after correcting the mistake. My credit is shot now and freedom mortgage is telling they can't help me. RESPA violators!!!! Don't use them

I have rental homes in three states for 25+ years, and this is one of the most frustrating mortgage servicer companies I've had since Wells Fargo. 1) The amount of products and advice they try to sell their customers is excessive. 2) The forced placed insurance was too quick and our insurance company didnt change, and we had insurance. I'm accustomed to these requests. We got a letter the insurance was canceled, but I don't know if were charged. Obviously we took care of getting our agent to get a copy of the insurance sent to the servicer. I know its their job to make sure we have insurance. But their execution was poor. I'm going to let it go, but I'm not a happy camper. Hence the 3 stars.

Here’s why I don’t recommend freedom mortgage. They don’t have a method to contact you when you payment is due. You will get a ton of spam calls, email and unsolicited regular mail, but never a notice that your payment is due. There’s no option to notify either. I had a situation where I tried to make my payment online but their systems were down. I pay on the same day every month. I had something on my mind and ended up forgetting to sign in and make the payment at a later time. I ended up getting 2 calls from them but they never left a message. I assumed it was one of their begging for a loan call so I didn’t answer. No email, no call, no text message. Nothing at all. Now I have a late payment mark on my credit record which is causing me serious issues. This was one late payment I’m my entire life. I went to from excellent credit to bad credit in one event. They think they are smart with this tactic. They hope you will be late so they can lock you in to their firm. Anyway, keep looking and let this one go.

They are the worst mortgage servicer I have been involved with. They bought my mortgage and I have never hated being with a company more. Their name should be changed. They do not represent AMERICA or FREEDOM. They do not care about the people they service. WILL NOT let me pay mortgage on a weekly or by weekly payment to be able to reduce my interest and payment. If you can steer away from them I'd say do it.

In August 2021, we began the loan modification process with a third party... we were given annoffer on Oct 27 and we began our trial payments. In January we called to make a payment and they told us that they had a new trial payment with an even lower interest rate so we only needed to pay $1453.66 for the next 3 payments for a trial payment. I did that, we never received paperwork but continued to pay the $1453.66. In September they told us that the offer had expired and the new offer was for 1921.13. We made the payment without accepting the offer. On September 22, they sent us documents to sign for the original modification amount of $1453.66. We signed those documents and sent them in but my husband signed in the wrong place, therefore on October 6 they sent the documents for $1453.66 again and gave us 5 days to return them. In that packet we also had to make a final trial payment of $1561, which the customer service representative contacted loss mitigation and verified that they could take that payment over the phone and they did. They received the documents on Oct 10 and on Oct 11, I called to confirm and they assured me the document would be processed within 30 days. Now, I called to make a payment because the documents had not been processed yet and they told me that they denied my offer due to me not making the full payments of 1921, I told them that the new documents that they sent were not for the 1921, and those documents were for $1453.66 which is what I paid since February. I spoke to a supervisor who also said they would not honor the documents they had sent twice and asked to speak to a manager, the supervisor told me that her manager would not give me a different answer, but she would call me in 72 hours. My husband is a veteran and they told us the lender for vA loans was backed up for 6 months, this was why we did not receive the documents before September, the errors are not mine and should be honored. I have uploaded my copy of the agreement.

Had an issue with our homeowners. Freedom sent insurance to the wrong po box. My insurance was on the verge of being cancelled. I had to put out a 2 month payment to the insurance company to have it reinstated. 3 weeks later, issue still not resolved. They made the error, they should fix it. So far I have wasted about 8 hours of phone contacts with numerous people in which one had said I could pay the insurance with my CC....reallly???? That's why you have it in our escrow..Brutal customer service

My friend worked here for close to 3-4 years after a rough back injury and surgery. They let him work remotely which was great for his circumstances. They wouldn't hire him on beyond being a temp because it was cheaper than paying him what he deserved. After 3-4 years of service with this company they started docking and auditing his paychecks for minutes on the hour. I'm talking 2 minutes here, 1 minute there kind of time audit. They refused to send his paychecks because of the time audits. He went without pay for weeks while the company CHARGED him $20 for the time they audited over the course of a month or more. Then they started hiring all Filippino employees and fired him because they would work for pennies on the dollar and for 12+ hour shifts while my friend would not. He's still waiting on his paychecks for the time he did work. This company is disgusting and un-American. Absolutely rotten from the inside out.

If I could leave no stars I would have. They complete compromised my credit score by unreasonable and unnecessary reporting to the credit agencies of \"delinquent\" account. I am a new customer and not by choice as they bought my previous mortgage account and failed to inform me They had sent mail to the incorrect address and did not bother to verify even after the mail was returned to them. The payments were made within the allowed period of time upon learning of the issue and confirmed with their representative that report will not be initiated since the payments were made. In reality they did send report, hence ruining my credit score. If you have choice find other lander.

My Mortgage was recently transferred to Freedom. I received a bunch of notifications reminding me of the transfer but nothing to setup my account and make a payment. I finally received an email to activate my account on 7/21 but needed my Loan Number, which I didn’t have. My Statement came on 7/23. I was able to create my account and was met with a “Past Due” status. If you’re going to buy someone’s mortgage, be a responsible business and send the information in advance of their loan due date; not three weeks past due and claim the client is responsible. I don’t have a choice in who owns my loan, but I will never use Freedom purchasing a home in the future.

They bought out my mortgage. I received notification from my prior company on June 16 of the transfer and nothing until July 7th from Freedom a generic email comes though welcoming me, no info to set up an online account or mail a payment. July 15th comes \\u0026 still nothing from them, I called to get my account number and make sure I'm not going to get any late fees, the not so friendly lady gives me the account number and says by law they can't charge me a late fee.... So welcoming. Monday the 18th a letter with account info arrived, so I paid my bill. Today Thursday the 21st a letter arrives saying I'm late. Really? Freedom Mortgage is late. If interest rates weren't so high I'd refinance.

They were great at first, since Covid, like so many others, customer service is horrible. Hard to find someone that actually understands what you need, they wanna read from scripts. I can never get an answer. I have been locked out if my on line account for over a year, I've done everything but stand on my head. Sent the snail mail paperwork They ask for and then no one can find it. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone

Our mortgage was sold to Freedom and we made our first payment via our bank's bill pay on the 2nd of the month. Freedom admits they weren't set up to take payments until the 5th, but that was never communicated to me. So they "can't find" the payment and have been harassing me for 2 months now. I have provided all the documentation from my bank but they keep asking for a copy of a written check. Terrible treatment of customers who got stuck with them. They refuse to take responsibility for their failures and inability to communicate. Avoid them at all costs, if you have a choice. We didn't have a choice and are suffering for it.

The customer service communication was so non existent Im completely refinancing my home with another company just so i don't have to deal with Freedom Mortgage again. Countless Voicemails and emails to my \\\"customer advocate\\\" along with about 4 other people along the way and inreturn zero turned calls and 2 email reply's one of them being a automatic message referring me to someone else that also didn't reply or return phone calls.

Horrible! The worst ever. People stay away from them. Lost my job during the pandemic and used the forbearance for 6 months. After the 6 months wanted to go back in track with my mortgage and they suggested a revenue/loan modification, putting whatever i didn't pay to the end of the mortgage. Got approved and they said that I would receive some documents through FedEx to sign and notarized. I never received those documents and after a week I received a letter from FM saying notice of intention of foreclosure because I didn't send the documents back. What documents? I never received them. Now after 2 months I'm still at risks of foreclosure because they can't do their job. I had to reapply for the loan modification and still waiting for that. I don't know what's going on, I paid for the month of July and this morning I got a call from them.called back and the lady didn't even know what to say, it looks like my payment wasn't on the system. Now calling my lawyer because I'm sick and tired of this. I want my situation fixed now.
