We needed some plants for a very marshy part of our yard but were not sure what would take to the soil. Dave was able to help us pick the perfect shrub. He was super knowledgeable and friendly, even helped load everything into the car. Would absolutely recommend Agway over a big box store.

I agree with other reviewers. Some workers are not exactly helpful or welcoming. I went with an open mind, but I see what they mean. This being said, the place has a massive inventory. 90% outdoor plants. But a few collectible house plants and succulents ( my hobby).

Nursery has a good collections, and clearly grouped, making it easy to find and makes shopping a breeze. The variety is impressive.
However, the customer service at this place is severely lacking. The staffs appeared to be working under duress and showed no respect for customers or the work they do. It felt as though they were being forced to work there against their will. The staffs at the checkout don't care whether the customers returns or not.

Trying to make a contractor with a PA business license jump through hoops to get a contractor discount is no way to do business. I get the same discount that you denied me today from all the surrounding nurseries that don't seem to care that my office is based out of PA and not NJ. I won't be back and would recommend other landscapers to go to the contractor friendly local nurseries. And no.... staff did not tell me they were going to reach out to ownership at all while I was there. I was told "It's the owners rule" and the man that was there just walked away. I was there... I know what happened. No need to gaslight.

Huge supporter of places like this and Agway has some great staff of which most are very knowledgeable and nice people. However, I had a mealy bug infestation on my most recent purchase there. So when I called to figure out what it was (I didn’t know about mealy bugs at the time), the lady said she was not sure (despite me describing pretty detailed what the problem was). I was sort of panicking cause my plant was nearly dead. I then brought my plant in and they sold me insecticide. 3 weeks later, mealybugs I believe are gone, but still no recovery despite my best efforts. Kind of a bad experience. Reason for 3 stars is for Agway not doing a better job preventing mealy bugs, or informing customers of mealy bugs.
