Sharing my experience and hoping that there are changes made to the receptionist/front desk in terms of compassion, professionalism and accountability. We are new to the area and we’re looking for a new veterinarian for our dog. He’s 14 years old & the sweetest pup. ♥️We saw Dr. Angela, very compassionate and sweet veterinarian, she recommended we have extensive testing done on our dog to check his heart (ECHO) and abdomen (Ultrasound) which we did.She heard a high-grade heart murmur when she auscultated his heart and strongly encouraged us to get an echocardiogram done and that’s exactly what we did.We spent over $600 out of pocket and got the testing done within a week of his visit. After the testing was done, I reached out to the front desk 6 times within a 3 day time frame to get the results. Each time I called I was quickly brushed off the phone & told things such as “Don’t worry, the doctor will call you. She’s busy, she will call you when she can. It’s not my job to pull the doctor by the arm to call you.”One of them even “huffed and puffed” as I asked her questions.I expressed every time I called that I was concerned & to please ensure I am called by the doctor. When I was able to speak to the veterinarian, she told me she did not receive any messages from the front desk staff that I had called. Not ONE time did they tell her I called. The Level of unprofessionalism, arrogance, complete disregard for my concerns, and the inability for them to relay any of my messages to the doctor is something I have never experienced with our previous veterinarian clinic in the 14 years that I’ve had my dog.The front desk staff at 4 Paws should be ashamed of themselves for speaking to a concerned dog owner in this way.I work very closely with the public as a pediatric nurse for almost 20 years.I am very aware of how a clinic should operate & how a concerned “mother” should be treated.4 paws is best suited for healthy dogs with no chronic/ongoing medical issues. If you want compassionate and professional customer service from the front desk staff-this office is NOT the place for that.

I'd like to send a Shout Out to 4 Paws Animal Hospital especially Dr. Darren Wasserstein. I'm not sure if everyone understands the devotion and love one can have for their fur babies. They really become members of the family and are part of your life during good times and bad. Unfortunately, a senior dog begins to need more medical care to keep them healthy and even then, there can be setbacks. Our dog, Ryder began to have heart issues, some seizures and the development of a cough. Nothing has been life threatening, but it has become a trying task to stabilize him. We have been using Dr. Weisenstein for over 30 years. First in Freehold and now at Four Paws as one of the owners. His communication with me has been ongoing; touching base with me on how his day has been. He has been calling me at least two times a week and returning my calls even on his days off. If not for Dr. Weisenstein, we would be scurrying around in a maze not knowing which ailment to approach as the culprit for the day. Right now, Ryder is on a cocktail of meds; tweaking here and there. These tweaks are due to the communication skills this wonderful vet has created with us, the devoted owners. Ryder has no idea how the compassion and skill of his doctor has given him more life to live, and for us to continue to share our lives with him. I highly recommend Dr. Weisenstein at Four Paws.

Our family unfortunately lost our beloved 18 year old dachshund tootsie today as she passed right as we were bringing her in to their facility. The entire staff at Four Paws COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE COMPASSIONATE AND EMPATHETIC during what was such a difficult and painful moment for our family. We were treated with such care and respect and we could not be more appreciative. Our family has used Four Paws for many years and will continue to do so.THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! YOU ARE ALL SUCH PROFESSIONALS!The Braisted Family.

Was waiting over 40 minutes with an appointment. And also witnessed a dog foaming out of the mouth who could barely breathe, the owner stressed about how their dog needed to be seen, yet no one cared. There was foam all over the floor and the only thing the doctor said was “do you need a napkin” NEVER GO HERE EVER

Wonderful place for treatment of your pets. Even though for us it was not so wonderful cause our dog was not strong enough to continue but the staff was wonderful and caring. Thank you all for your help and kindness during our time of sadness.

Been going to this Vet for the past 6-7 years, use to love them; not feeling the love anymore. Had my cat there for a check up, got check over, Med filled (allergies , eye drops), got a lecture about Rabies vaccine is the law, so I had the Vet administer that. Bill was under $70. Then received a call this morning, Vet forgot to bill me for the office visit, I nearly freaked $105! WTH?! I initially paid, $55-$65 when we first went there. Then on top of that like yesterday, they are charging a 2% fee for using a charge card! Always, always one Vet on duty on weekends, and you wait n wait. Doctors you like leave, Dr Rob, Dr Brittany, gone. Ever since they moved into their newer, bigger location I noticed the changes, cleanliness, staff, attitudes. I've spent a fortune here over the years to take care of my cats; not anymore, finding a new Vet in the new year.
