Montclair Pet Grooming
322 Orange Rd, MontclairHad a great experience on my first visit and will definitely be back. Collette was fantastic with our pups. Was there to have one dog groomed and the other just to have nails clipped. She not only clipped his nails, she also trimmed the hair on his feet and near his eyes at no additional cost and my Sheltie girl looked and smelled beautiful. Prices were reasonable and it was a pleasure to chat with the owner and learn how much she loves all her pets and helps so many others.

Pups @ Play Montclair
85A Walnut St, MontclairWe have been going to Pups at Play for years and it’s been okay. This review is a result of the most incredible experience I had last night with Michelle and Howard. This is for them!!
Enroute to come pick up my sweet girl, I was caught in massive, massive traffic due to a terrible accident on route 80 in PA. This left me in bumper to bumper traffic for 3 hours, going far past the closing time of daycare. Since my sweet girl has very strict medication, leaving her for an impromptu overnight is just not an option. Michelle was incredible to work with helped me find a solution, as well as navigating traffic from the maps she could see on her desktop!!! Howard stayed late for me and welcomed me in to scoop my girl close to 9pm. So incredibly understanding as I was a wreck and never had been in this situation before. I cannot thank them enough. They are the BEST and it’s employees like them that will keep us coming back to Pups at Play. MICHELLE AND HOWARD FOR THE WIN!!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
La Fontaine Cafe
12 N Willow St, MontclairI think I’m addicted to La Fontaine. I don’t know if it’s the cute, homey feel or the delicious sandwiches and crepes made with love, but I keep finding myself wanting to go back. I definitely recommend the chicken chipotle and sucuk sandwich or the spinach and cheese crepe (or any of the sweet crepes if that’s your thing) aaaand the pistachio latte which is my absolute favorite. I love it so much that I crave it all the time.

Stuff by SJ
342 Bloomfield Ave, MontclairSJ and her husband are the dream team! I stumbled upon them in trying to find a place who can make vintage style wedding cakes, regular and gluten free, in the Montclair area. Once I spoke with them, they easily accommodated everything I asked for and for a very great price. Not only did we get a chance to go in to try all the cakes, frostings and fillings, included in the total, but we also got to meet them and their family, who are so sweet, welcoming and down to earth people (really making it worth the $$$ in helping and supporting small businesses/their family). SJ also makes all the cakes, icings and filings from scratch-delicious!! On the day of my wedding, the cakes were just ask expected and beyond our expectations!!! Highly recommend them not only just for weddings but any cakes for any special occasion!!!!

Paper Plane Coffee Co.
61 N Fullerton Ave, MontclairAmazing coffee!!!! We ordered a couple coffees togo as well as a bag pf beans to make at home because we head great things about this place and we were very impressed. We came on a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty busy but the shop is beautifully decorated with the most fun "paper plane" them and the vibes were perfect. Our coffees came out so smooth and creamy, not overly sweet or bitter at all. The beans we took home have been heavenly. Can't wait to pick up another bag.

Just Jake's
30 Park St, MontclairWanted to grab just a drink but there was a $8 cover charge wasn’t worth. Seemed like a busy place so probably there is something good about it, not for someone who just wants a drink or 2.

Raymond's
28 Church St, MontclairTerrific and nostalgic fare. Got Turkey club for my meal with their delicious French fries. The sandwich was good enough to conquer my hunger and I only ate half. Took home the leftovers. My husband had the classic burger with French fries and it was huge and cooked to perfection. He said it was juicy and full of flavor with all the toppings. We both liked that the French fries came in a metal cup container because it kept the temperature longer which allowed us to eat them warm. I chose the green tea iced tea and thought it was perfectly not too sweet. Hubby got plain iced tea and it was unsweetened and terrific too. Prices are comparable to the area with tip just under $60.

Brookdale Dog Park
W Circuit Dr, MontclairSmall dog park I don't mind with my new dog but when I had a big husky, the big dog park is kinda in my opinion like a prison yard, fights, unsocialized dogs and owners that are more on their cell phones than watching their dogs. That's just my experience and opinion. My husky was hurt and had to take to vet ER.

Montclair Township Animal Shelter
77 N Willow St, MontclairLiz Morgan is one of the most caring and professional Shelter Directors that I know. Her mission is to place the shelter animals with compatible families. She understands the behavior and personalities of the animals, and knows the best match between the animals and the families.
When I came to the shelter, my intention was to volunteer just to keep in contact with dogs, because my two sibling dogs of 15 years had passed. However, after discussing my loss with Ms. Morgan, she knew she had the right dog for me to help ease my sorrow. She was absolutely right and matched me with the perfect dog.
As a volunteer, and a woman of color, I have observed how Ms. Morgan manages the shelter. She is friendly to everyone that enters the shelter, and is very knowledgeable about how to manage a shelter. She treats her staff, the volunteers, and everyone that comes to the shelter with professionalism and respect. Since Montclair is a diversified town, Ms. Morgan promotes diversity and treats everyone equally.
I think all of the shelter animals and Montclair Township is very fortunate to have Liz Morgan as their Shelter Director.
