Bought a cheap, silver ring with a (lab created, later learned) garnet... even though garnets are rather cheap. This ran me about $75, which is already very expensive for garnet/silver. I asked to have the ring made larger, and he happily obliged. He began, but stopped to say he "Couldn't cut Mexican silver" even though, he had already started to cut the Mexican silver. In less than three months, the silver coating wore off and the already small ring is now abrasive to wear. Maybe this ring was made of a weaker silver than my other rings of similar material, it sure now looks like it.Their higher end stuff looked nice, and they were very kind despite the dud.

I have been in Montclair for over 20 years and always took my watches to a place in Upper Montclair for a new battery until it closed. My wife went to the jewelry store on Bellevue to get a new battery and thankfully asked the price. She was quoted somewhere north of $40 and said no thank you. Montclair Jeweler's did it for $7 right on the spot and couldn't be nicer. There should be a law!

This is a wonderful store with exquisite upper end jewelry. Due to the proprietor presence at all times, you are given the utmost attention and accommodation. The owner, Aaron Kaplan is a master craftsman and can make you a piece of jewelry to your personal specifications while advising you on the practicality of your design. He is a most professional jeweler and very pleasant to work with whether you are buying or browsing. He was recommended to me by a dear friend who was, for many years, in the fine jewelry business. I am so glad she did! i would go no other place for jewelry. When ever a piece comes into the store he thinks i might like, he calls me to let me know and of course I go right to his store and usually purchase the item. You will not find a better jewelry store than Montclair Jewelers.

After I made my first purchase here, I returned every time for myself or a gift for someone. They are experts in jewelry and have the most unique pieces I have seen anywhere. The owners are excellent to deal with. I love this store and hope they are in business for many years.

Aaron has repaired my vintage watches several times. So I asked him if he could design and make an red gold and opal necklace to match some earrings made in Israel. The result was absolutely stunning. My wife was thrilled. Beautiful craftsmanship and excellent customer service!
