DO NOT RENT WITH HOME CORPS!!. this housing company is extremely unprofessional and doesn't respond to you Most of the time. there receptionist massanah is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. i moved into my apartment in April 2022, started to see rats in my apartment in November and i didn't have a maintenance man come take care of it until March of 2023. i made a call to my property manager (Massanah) to tell her about the situation and she proceeded to call me DIRTY multiple times for having rats in my apartment and it took me contacting The health department and having a very heated phone conversation in order for her to take care of the issue. She told multiple people that i'm dirty and my apartment is dirty and also said i'm lying about having rats and im allowing my PET HAMPSTER run around my apartment and refused to send a maintenance man for months. She doesn't not do her job, very disrespectful and unprofessional, i regret moving into this apartment with paper thin walls and a family with 3 young children living above me and of course they think it's a playground running threw the house all day and night long. I would never rent from this company again. Living here is literally Hell.

HOME CORP MONTCLAIR WOULD HAVE A MUCH HIGHER REVIEW IF IT FOCUSED MORE ON MAKING SURE ITS TENANTS WERE TAKING CARE OF AND LESS ON TRYING TO BLOCK THE NUMEROUS 1 STAR REVIEWS THEY WILL CONTINUE TO GET ON EVERY PLATFORM! It simple, if you’re in the business of housing, provide adequate service you can be proud of… or don’t complain. These photos are disgusting, disturbing, and unacceptable!

HOMECorp is a failure to its mission and its tenants. As a former advocate for the organization, I can tell you through my own eyes that I have witnessed the dramatic decline of the organization. It is horrific to see how far they are willing to go to belittle and control tenants. As a young Black Woman, I also feel it particularly disgusting that they continue to bring in Black Women as Property Managers to be used as pawns to handle their "dirty work".It is far too much, and too painful, to describe in this review, so I have added my story in the following images. Please join me in speaking out against injustice and stand for what is right. All we want is to be treated with the respect that we deserve. What is done in the darkness, shall come to the light. An Honest Review of HOMECorp: A Journey Downhill

HOMECorp's mission statement begins with creating, and maintaining housing, however, simply saying that they have failed, doesn't suffice. This company, (if we can even call it that) is not only unethical but furthermore incompetent and manipulative. Their tenants are treated as though they are less than human, and when one dares to speak out against the injustice they are seen as troublesome. Something has to be done, so I urge anyone who has suffered in any way due to the negligence of this company to speak out.

I have lived in the same unit for almost 20 years. I am a first-generation American and first-generation college graduate. I stand firmly against social injustice, and pursue knowledge to ensure that myself and others are receiving the proper treatment that they deserve. That is why, in previous years, I advocated for HOMECorp, volunteered with the organization, received recognition for my academic excellence, and even had the honor to give a speech at the farewell celebration of the incomparable Beverly Riddick. However, as mentioned in a previous review, since 2017, the organization has been on a downward spiral. The management has changed so many times, I don’t know who to speak to anymore. We’ve seen Deidre Malloy, Jessica Almonte, Melody Federico, Tamara Noelus, David Grill, John Keefe, Masanna Johnson, among others. It is like a revolving door there, with each one of them suddenly leaving. What is happening there?? In addition to that, although we have been living in the unit since 2002, after numerous requests (via email and certified mail) they have failed to provide any of our personal documents, including information about our security deposit. I was informed by a previous executive director that, when they transitioned offices from the Woodland Ave location to the 17 Talbot office, several documents were shredded. Until this day, we are still waiting as they “search” for our documents, which has been an ongoing search for years. Instead of providing our documents, they filed a retaliatory eviction. Since the resignation of Ms. Riddick, who I sincerely appreciate as a human being, the quality of management has deteriorated significantly, just like the buildings they own. I am also concerned that a quick Google search listed several of the units on Miller St, which the organization owns, as being in pre-foreclosure. I pray to God that this isn’t true, as this could result in several families facing home insecurity. I definitely recommend that the organization take a look into this if it is untrue, as it is deeply concerning. For an organization that claims to be founded as ecumenical, uniting various religions to establish a service for individuals in need, the staff are harsh, lack understanding of professionalism, and are clearly unfamiliar with the NJ Tenants Code of Rights. In addition to the failing management, they no longer have a maintenance team to keep up with the units. In relation to my family’s unit alone, we have not had any repairs done in over 5 years, even after an exhausting amount of attempts to request help. Now, we are left with cracks in our ceiling, mold, a damaged roof that causes leaking, a broken gutter, gaps within various parts of the unit that allow for a m-o-u-s-e problem (absolutely disgusting as we are not unsanitary people), amongst a multitude of things. I even contacted the Code/Housing Inspector of the Township of Montclair in January 2021, Patrick Ciancitto, who was pleasant in inspecting the unit and found a jaw dropping amount of violations. Due to this, Ciancitto spoke with Ms. Federico, then executive director, who offered us the option, in February 2021, of moving into the home across the street (which was also in need of extensive repairs due to a terrible home fire). Federico stated that due to the extensive repairs needed on our unit, it would not be possible for HOMECorp to make repairs while we are residing in the unit. It was projected to be completed and ready for move-in on May 1st, 2021. Today is December 13, 2021. We have still been living in the unit and waiting, as the renovations on the property offered to us have been entirely halted. Now, two weeks before Christmas, the temporary current management, John Keefe and Masanna Johnson, are suddenly claiming that they are now immediately ready to begin repairs to the unit that we are currently living in, but need to also come in to inspect. Do those statements not contradict? They also completely ignore the agreement made (which we have documented in writing) to fix the other property to allow for our tra

This is a nice social service agency for Montclair NJ. Their main focus is housing, whether rental or ownership. I took a FREE first time homebuyers workshop for Montclair residents. It was from 10-5, included breakfast and lunch and had several informatice speakers on the homebuying process. These workshops usually cost $50. The hostess was very nice. The building is fairly new. I was worried about the hanging tile in the open ceiling. A lady was seated right under it. They should have sectioned that area off. A note: When ordering pizza, order 1 plain. Everybody does not eat pork.
