Yasmin the pharmacist was incredibly kind and helpful. My insurance wouldn’t cover my medication and she took the time to find the discount for me on line that was huge savings! Really helped me out!! What a good person!!

Have used this pharmacy for a few years - always professional and process my prescriptions quickly. I like their automated prescription refill SMS text service and can have my prescriptions delivered if I’m really sick and can’t get out to pick them up.

just about every time i pick up a prescription from this cvs pharmacy something is messed up. they don’t pay attention they aren’t focused and they don’t care. it’s embarrassing and rude.

Worst pharmacy ever. I don't know if it's because they are understaffed or just totally incompetent. It takes 20 minutes on hold to get someone from the pharmacy to actually answer the phone and then they are indifferent at best. Going to avoid them at all cost in the future.

I've been visiting this CVS exclusively for over 12 years at this location. I was informed today that they no longer accept anything but prescriptions at the prescription cashier. So to purchase my prescription, and say other items in the store, you now have to wait through 2 (at times long) lines for two transactions. Never more, just limiting my purchases to prescriptions and considering my other options. As noted in the other reviews, I can confirm this store has been consistently going down hill in terms of stock, number of staff and the ability to service customers in a timely manner.

I always come here. Maria, Tristan and Donna are the best!!! They treat you like a family member!! Mona in pharmacy is the loveliest person on the planet!!! Thank you for hiring people who are courteous and kind CVS! Finding a kind person in any service industry is like finding a needle in a hay stack!!!! Kudos to CVS on Valley!!!! Woo hoo

They were out of stock of a common antibiotic for children. Said they’d transfer a prescription to a local pharmacy, and it never happened. But it’s not surprising. It’s CVS. They’re overloaded and only get by on name recognition of their awful monopoly. Would recommend using a “mom and pop” pharmacy! And don’t get me started on the paper wasting coupons!

This review is a reflection of the pharmacy. The store itself is fine, the non-pharmacy employees are nice. I would wholeheartedly recommend Grove Pharmacy, which is admittedly not in walking distance of the Upper Montclair CVS. Maybe the other CVS's in Montclair are better, but this one is utterly abysmal.CVS Pharmacy repeatedly fails to tell me my medication needs prior authorization. This leaves me with no medication the day of, and having to do somebody else's job in figuring out why it wasn't done. This is at least the second time I've asked why wasn't I notified my medication needs prior authorization and I once again was not given a coherent answer. I got a discount coupon offered on Monday; It wasn't until I called on a Saturday to check the status. I then get a follow-up text saying they're contacting my doctor--again, on a Saturday, when my doctor's practice is closed. I don't believe the pharmacist when she says she initially tried to contact the doctor's office Thursday but apparently "resent" this claim on Saturday (Why, then, did I get a text on Saturday saying my prescription needs doctor approval but not on Thursday?). I ended up having to pay the copay and file a reimbursement claim because of it. Stay away.

I go her when I do my banking and I’ve never had a problem with any staff I always use the self checkout and those machines are horrible but a staff member fixes the problem the location at Claremont is not as good as if you are getting a money order they blab the amount where everyone hears your business I actually don’t go here anymore

I've lived a 2 minute walk from here my whole life. I know the employees closely. Maria is a hardworking angel of a mother. Ramona always makes me smile. I could go on and on about the other employees as well. I forget her name sadly, but the beautiful woman who runs the beauty department is so on top of her section. Not only can she recommend anything from hair care to nail polish to makeup and skincare, but she can customize it to how you look. It's obvious she knows her stuff because she always looks flawless. If you ask her where a certain brand went, she knows the exact reasons and timeline. If you ask when something will be restocked, or anything about a new brand they've started carrying, she'll tell you with excitement. She'll help you find good shades for the undertones in your skin, and if you ask her about a product that she knows underperforms, she won't hesitate to recommend something else instead. They've recently hired some newer and younger employees, and they're so sweet and helpful. If they don't know the answer to the question, they confidently and kindly say they'll bring over someone who can answer and will be back shortly. And the pharmacy... Oh that pharmacy. They know how it is, especially for women, with insurance in America. They will spend time calling all over and talking with insurance to get you what you need. I've had my insurance say I can't get a renewal of my birth control for another two weeks, which is wrong, and the woman on the phone overrides it by talking to insurance for me and it's ready the next day. If you aren't sure which first aid item, or vitamin, eye drops etc you should buy, head over to the pharmacist window and she'll help you out immediately. It's truly an amazing store. I will update when I can with the names I'm forgetting!!!

Deeply incompetent. Don't answer the phone or return voicemail. Confirmed 2 scripts were ready then only have 1. Can't properly submit things to insurance. Ultimately gave me the wrong drug for the 1 script they filled and lost the other entirely. Do not entrust your health to these people

The store itself is fine, but don’t bother calling the pharmacy. They will never pick up, even outside of peak hours. If, by some chance, you get to speak with someone, be prepared to repeat yourself over and over. And they won’t remember once you get to the store, so you’ll have to go over it all again and have to wait for them to figure it out. So calling is just not worth it.
