I've been using Wilson Fuel for a few years- and have always been happy with the service. I'm a new mom and have had so much on my mind I forgot to schedule a delivery. We woke up this morning to a freezing cold house, a cold furnace, and no oil. I called Wilson to schedule a delivery- I mentioned that I was home with my baby without heat, and within the hour, a truck was backing down my driveway. Thank you SO much. I am a customer forever because of your kindness.

I stopped ordering oil from these guys over 10 years ago because of the way they did business. This year, I decided to give them another shot. Oil wasn't delivered the day they said, they came later and they gave me less oil than I ordered. No phone call or explanation. I happened to look at the receipt a month later and find out.

I called on Tuesday to order a delivery and we set the delivery day for Saturday because they would be in my area. Today is Saturday and all day long I waited. I saw one of their oil trucks pass my driveway and figured maybe they started at the top at worked their way down. At 5:30 PM my husband calls to see what is going on and where they are. The woman who answered was an employee of sycamore companies emergency answering service and informed me they would forward the message to the on call tech. No one called so my husband called again at 6:30 PM and the woman was short with him and said someone would call...and still no one has called. He called the emergency hotline again to get oil tonight and still no one has called back. I have used Wilson many, many times and never had a problem but this is unacceptable. I have four children in this house, and two of them are infants. She asked my husband how much oil we had in our tank but the question is irrelevant. I called and placed a delivery and was assured it would be here and it is not. We are about to get a storm and freezing temperatures. I am very angry and will no longer be using this company. And if you are in an emergency situation and need oil do not call this company because they do not call you back.

As I am aware that Wilson Fuel has changed ownership, I am unable to locate a facebook page for SterlingOil who I believe is the new owner, So therefore I am posting on this page. On 9/6/17 we had an oil delivery. The next morning there was no hot water. Called my furnace repair person who responded immediately, he removed 23 gallons of water from the above ground inside oil tank. when I reported this to the manager of Wilson a.k.a. Sterling, the response I received was

My Dad used them for the past 15 years, and also let them use his driveway for filling up his neighbor. When he went to sell his house, they wanted to charge $165 for a tank reading to send to the lawyer (Dad lives literally 2.5 miles from their location). We checked with other oil companies, and they offer that service free to existing customers. WIlson wouldn't budge, and gave phone numbers for "managers" that went to voicemail with no return call. I found out that they were sold from local ownership to Sterling Fuels and Logistics. No joy trying to contact anyone from that company either.

My Dad had to get his oil tank reading done, and have the information sent to the lawyer when he sold his house. This was needed for reimbursement for the oil left in the tank. His supplier, Wilson Fuel in Montague (Pop was a loyal customer for 15 years, and even let Wilson use his driveway to fill his neighbor's tank), wanted to charge him $165 for this service. Our lawyer and real estate agent couldn't believe this, and we checked around and found other companies that did this free of charge for their existing customers. Dad's propane supplier had no problem helping us out with the reading of fuel level in their tank. Wilson wouldn't budge, stating that the home office made the rules, and only offered to provide a phone number to a manager who was never there, and didn't return calls. I also found out that Wilson is no longer locally owned, they are now part of Sterling Fuel and Logistics (equally hard to contact). If you research the parent company and it's other subsidiaries, you will find more complaints. Luckily, we were able to take the reading ourselves, and it was accepted by the buyer.

We have been with Wilson 14 years, sometimes on auto delivery. We ran dry of oil today, and they said they would not deliver for 3 days because auto delivery customers come first! Mind you it is 25 degrees and snowing. Thanks for the warm caring service you bunch of losers.

Was with them for 14 years, sometimes auto service , this time not. Would not deliver oil to me today, even though we have ran dry and it is snowing. Said they take care of auto delivery customers first and can't get to me for 3 days. Keep your oil my Freind's, never again!. By the way my payments are always cash at time of service. There is no excuse for this. Shame on you Wilson fuel oil a small town company with a bad attitude.

Have been using Wilson Fuel for three years. The personnel are very friendly, and very helpful. When I was a new customer, they even delivered with a post dated check (I was new to using heating oil and didn't plan for the need for oil when I first started using it). I have called a couple of times when I was very low and needed to get the delivery right away and they came within 24-48 hours. They have always charged exactly what they quoted over the phone, and their price is consistently the lowest around. The delivery person is always polite and professional, and has taken the time to educate me about heating oil, my tank, etc. Excellent customer service, and great local business. I recommend to everyone I know.

Best price around!! Ran out of oil last night, unexpectedly because the gage said 1/4 full. When I called to place an order, she said the next delivery would be Friday. There is a big snow storm coming in, and I was hesitant to wait that long. Plus, I have 3 kids that need to be warm. She stayed on the phone with me and was able to get a delivery in for TODAY!! I've used them 3 times and haven't had an issue. They often run specials in a Facebook group I belong to.

Under the previous owners, I never had a problem. They were very nice, professional and always delivered on time at the price promised. That has changed. Under the new owners they wanted to charge me a higher price than diesel available down the street. I pointed that out to the lady and she told me she couldn't do anything. I went elsewhere. I would not use them again. For those who do not understand, diesel fuel has road tax and usually costs at least 10-20 cents per gallon more than heating oil which is not taxed that way. That is in addition to the sales tax which I must pay being as I am a business. They lost a loyal customer less than 3 miles away.

No oil delivery company is perfect. I do shop around. Wilson is local to me at about 3 miles away. They usually deliver faster than everyone else and their price is always competitive. If you shop around they will normally match the price. What more do you need?

If I could give them no stars, I would. I placed an order for 150 gallons on oil on Friday 1/24/14 at 10:30 a.m. I was quoted the price of 3.69 a gallon. I gave the woman my Discover Card number and asked her to bill it on there. On Monday, January 27th someone calls and asks my husband if he would like the tank to be filled and he told them okay. On Wednesday, January 29th the guy comes and starts filling up the oil without even knocking on the door. At the end, the bill is for 238 gallons at 3.86 per gallon. I called up to find out why I am not being billed for the price that I was quoted last week. Turns out they did not bill my credit card until Monday, January 27th for the 150 gallons and now the price of oil has gone up from $3.69 to $3.86. I spoke with one of the owners and basically, she said that the reason they billed on Monday the 27th was because they did not have my credit card number until Monday. That is a lie, they had my order and credit card on Friday morning, January 24th. She claimed there is nothing that she can do for me since this week's price is 3.86 per gallon. She offered to give me 10 cents off a gallon on my next order. I told her that this was my first order and will now be my only and last order because of the way they did me wrong. Then she has the audacity to tell me that they haven't heard from me since 1995. Really? I just bought this house in 2013 so it is a little hard to say why they never heard from me since 1995. They screw up and don't bill the 150 gallons right away and then they blame me and basically it is bad enough that they cheat me but they also in not so many words call me a liar. Great way to run a family business. Screw the customer, call them a liar and believe your employee. I should have stuck with Bottini, at least they don't j*** you around like this.
