We love that we have a Scouting family, and my husband has been a part of that family since he joined Boy Scouts. Our children are now Cub Scouts. I think it's wonderful that they have a group of friends to learn with and play with outside of school. Respect is their number one takeaway, and caring for others/selflessness is the second. Not sure what we'd do without our scouting family!
