I’m very excited to write a review about this complex. This is my first time living alone and I must say it’s been amazing and the transition into the apartment has been so smooth. The maintenance crew has very very helpful and responsive. John one of the supers at the complex has been so nice and helpful whenever I call him for any work. He is always available and friendly regardless if he’s working or off since he lives on site. The complex is clean and the neighbors are very friendly. The officer manager is very nice and easy to talk to as well. It’s been a pleasure to live here!

Extremely poor management. Bugs, terrible heating system, and the apartments are poorly refinished before you move in. Lots of spiders, crane flies and mosquitos during the summer time (inside the apartment). The property/office manager is extremely rude and inconsiderate. Management does not tend to emergent needs and does not respond to calls and requests. This was my own personal experience, but I do not recommend that anyone lives here.

It had truly been a great 2 years of living here. The buildings are older but charming. They got beautiful trees in the garden. Friendly neighbors and neighborhood cats. Responsive maintenance crew. Convenient location. It’s not exactly luxury apartment complex. Not sure why so many negative reviews? It’s a great place for young professionals who would like the convenience of being closer to NYC but none of that high rent and loud environment. Thanks Jean, john and the maintenance crew for providing such great experiences

I moved here couple years ago with my family. So far, we have enjoyed our stay. One thing that I really like about this place is that the management/maintenance team. Jean is very understandable and professional property manager. John and his team are very handy and accommodating facility maintenance professionals. We all know that living in apartments may come with some sort of unique challenging problems. It is very important that the landlord takes a proper action to make them more manageable if they cannot be fixed. I have witnessed in several instances that they don’t ignore tenants problem and try their best to resolve the issues in the best way they can. I personally have had several problems and none of them have been ignored or left unaddressed. Jean and her team have tried their best to manage the situation and address the concerns. This is greatly appreciated. Thank you Jean, John and others behind the scenes!

They raised my rent 25% one year so I tried to negotiate a more reasonable rate. They responded with a cease and desist letter and then tried to evict me. Their business model is to squeeze as much money as possible out of existing tenants because it's more profitable to raise rents on occupied units than it is to fill empty units that they don't have to maintain and can claim tax exemptions on.

I lived here for over two years until Jan 2022 and had a good experience. I moved out of state otherwise I wouldn’t have left. Based on the other reviews, maybe I just got lucky with my unit, but I never had any issues with bugs or overly loud neighbors or anything. Maintenance was responsive if I did have a question or issue which was rare. Kitchen and bathroom had been updated as well. I saw other residents have issues with parking, and I will say it is cold in the winter. That was my biggest complaint, they definitely need to turn the heat up. Otherwise overall I had a good experience living here.

Guess what, if you are friends with management or maintenance staff you get better discounts on rent! I was able to get 2 free parking spots as well! Also the annual rent fee increase can be waived if you're friends with management. Normally the rent increase is $100 a year but none of my friends get charged cuz we know the manager. I have 3 pet raccoons and 14 stray cats in my backyard, so if you like pets this is the place for you! Even though it says no smoking on the lease you will smell it if you are put in a smokers building. You're welcome for my review. Hit me up at paidreviews . com

Stay Away. Squirrels, racoons and bugs live in each building. Pet control is out all year. Winter is the only time you might not see pet control on the premises. Winter is also when the heat stops working. Management refuses to keep the building any warmer than 65 degrees and will insult you if you don't like their response. Management give deals to their friends and free parking spots to friends. The entire complex smells rancid. Appliances don't work. Every new manager quits within a year. All the staff are miserable and complain about the upper management's greed. Power, water, heat consistently go out due to poor infrastructure and poor building management. Out of the 7 apartments we've lived in over 30 years my family has never had a more miserable or stressful experience. Beware of paid reviews. Its a shame this place is so close to the high school, easy lure for unsuspecting tenants.

The place was extremely dirty when I moved in, appliences are old and parking is a big problem here. My first parking spot was a 7 min walk from my apartment.Management was misleading in regards to parking and they promised a free garage before I rented. After I signed the contract they backed out and said I would have to pay a monthly fee.My parking space was moved a bit closer to my apartment but many new spaces have opened up right next to my place but they give that spot to new residents (I am already paying so why bother fixing my problem, right?)This place is extremely mismanaged.

I took a tour of this place recently and I must say I was greatly disappointed. The pictures look absolutely nothing like the actual apartment. First thing i saw in the middle of the hallway was a bag of trash that had a terrible smell. The next thing was I smelled cigarettes throughout the hallways, and not to mention loud music playing! I knew right there that this wasn’t the place for me. I would’ve been embarrassed to take a potential tenant and show them that apartment. If they are that careless with preparing a tour then I know for certain they won’t be careful with your documents or needs as a tenant.

I had an appointment to view the apartment however when I arrived there was no one at the leasing office. I knocked, I called the office and waited a good 15-20 minutes and no one showed up. It was not a good first impression for a prospective tenant. It showed utter disrespect of someone’s time as I had to take time off from work to view few apartments in that day. This place is definitely cross off my list.

The entire management team and maintenance crew at SHGA are fantastic. In every single situation, they have been extremely responsive to my needs and concerns. Jean, the property manager, has also responded to my emails immediately and she has worked to address any issues I have had. She is available in the office and she is open to discussing issues with the tenants. In addition, John and the maintenance crew work very hard everyday, and they care about the concerns of the tenants. They, too, are very responsive. I have been a renter my whole life and the team that manages this property are the very best I have experienced as a renter.

Absolute nightmare. BAIT AND SWITCH MANY TIMES! Impossible to start your workday in piece because the leafblower and lawn mower will be making loud noise 4-6 hours during work hours. The previous property manager delayed processing my application for months. The new one constantly provides incorrect information about the terms of my lease and incorrect fees are removed after multiple attempts. There are issues with promptness of maintenance issues and possibly equal housing violation in regards to my application. Please do your due diligence before signing up with a lease or have an attorney review your lease terms.
