This is nothing against Sephora, I shop there frequently enough to know what I’m looking for when I go. However, this location never feels very welcoming. I had about 7 full sized items in my hand, and was struggling to test out brow pencils. Employees just continued their conversations in the same aisle and didn’t bother to acknowledge me. I walked up to a group (still struggling) — no help. I had to use my foot to flip over a basket I saw on the floor (which they just watched me do, and STILL offered no help). I also walked up to two employees (mid conversation) trying to ask for a full sized O/S spray and they WALKED AWAY (continuing the conversation). I hate to bring race into things, but I watched them greet and offer help to even the young, empty handed tweens who were in there shopping. I’m glad there’s a Jersey gardens location . Anyway, thanks to the woman who helped me get my o/s & the nice girl who was doing the spin the wheel outside — the extra star is for them. The rest of you, as I expressed, are useless. <3

My visit on 5-15 in Short Hills NJ
The employees were not helpful
I asked a question and was answered in a way that I felt I was disturbing their chit chat
Also cashier was rude
I am a rogue customer and expect a little better service than I received
I left store with a bad feeling

So i went into Sephora short hills today, i had no idea what i was looking for since I usually do not wear a lot of makeup. i needed some foundation and basic tips on application and what to buy, especially nervous due to my son’s upcoming wedding The staff was very friendly and offered assistance as i looked lost. Samantha in particular was incredibly confident and welcoming, she immediately took me under her wing and guided me not just with products but showed me how to apply them, she even applied makeup for a complete look! . She gave me exactly what i asked for. . Your staff at this location are gems!

Sephora Short Hills is my favorite in NJ. The store is always crowded and popular regardless of the time of the day you come but, the staff consistently manages to ask if you need help. They carry a large variety of brands that aren’t offered at a lot of the other stores in the state. Today I stopped by searching for a new AM moisturizer and was assisted by Simone. Simone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in various different brands as well as skin care as a whole. She helped me find the perfect moisturizer and serum for my combo skin. Thank you Simone!

I went here during holiday seasons and it was kind of busy, I went there to shade match for foundation. After a very long wait one of their beauty advisors, Ashley, helped me. She was very nice and friendly, knew her stuff and did great job at recommending products I was looking for and helping me with applying the products and making sure I am satisfied with my purchase.

Located in the Short Hills Mall near the Macy's, this makeup and perfume store had a little bit of everything, it seemed, but not everything (no Chanel makeup, just perfume, as an example). Everywhere there were samples, sponges, q-tips and paper so you could try out and smell and taste(?) everything - it made for a bit of mess and a lot of the samples were almost all used up (plus really, sharing makeup with strangers seems.. odd). Sephora branded items are cheaper and probably just as effective as lal the name brand items. Still amazing on how much a little tube of eye cream or lipstick can cost. Yet, still super full, and unsurprisingly, not too many people looking to help me out (I probably stick out like a sore thumb as I was just buying a gift, I clearly don't use makeup). The staffers only paused chatting amongst themselves when I found them upfront sorting through some of the boxes of makeup people had thrown around.

Literally my child accidentally added something to my cart. I didn’t realize and turned back to return it and the manager said I had to join a long line that I literally just stepped out of. I would understand if I was returning from couple hours ago or something but literally under a minute so now I’m returning everything.Be really great for them to get a decent manager.

This place is always busy. Which is no big deal. The cashiers move fast and you get on your way quickly. The problem I have with this location is the beauty advisors are all super aggressive. Within 3 minutes of coming in you get asked about ten times if you need help or a basket. And if you do need help more times than not I’ve found the interactions to be unpleasant. I was color matching a foundation and the advisor told me my skin was dry. Or another advisor told me that the match was too yellow…I hadn’t put any up on yet. I was sitting with bare skin and no product in my hands. It’s like they start with negging and then move on to up selling.

Update: The store manager did call me back and was extremely professional, understanding and quick to rectify the situation. He listened to my concerns and immediately credited back my card for the error and let me know that he would be having follow up conversations with his team. Thank you, Pierre! Your help was much appreciated. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. *BUYER BEWARE: CHECK YOUR BAGS BEFORE YOU LEAVE* It's unfortunate, bc I enjoy shopping at Sephora and the staff have always been very kind and helpful. However, I made a purchase that was just bizarre and has left me wondering what in the world is going on at this location. Something is definitely amiss and the resolution was just as odd. Upon being rung up, I was walking out of the store and just so happened to look inside of my bag. I immediately realized one of the items I just paid for was missing. Thankfully, I noticed this while still in the store. A gentleman that worked there immediately brought me back to the register to see what happened, only to find the item sitting behind the register in-front of the cashier that ran me. Ok. Still not sure how all of my other items made it to the bag except for that one but decided to let it be. The cashier then asked me if I paid for the item. Wouldn't she know? She just rang it up? Trying to cover your tracks much? Yes friend. The item was paid for. What the heck? Fast forward to today, I'm unpacking my bag of items and there are packs of moisturizing wipes in there. At first thought- oh nice! They must have had a give away last night, cool! .......and then, I checked my receipt. NOPE! The cashier charged me for two packs of wipes I didn't buy, were never in the in store shopping bag I gave her, and have zero purchase history of. Great! I called the store and spoke to a manager. She asked for images of my receipt. I emailed them right over, explained the weirdness of the entire experience etc. She looked into the matter and called me back stating what I had already told her- the cashier rang items I wasn't purchasing. Ok.... The resolution: drive back to their store (half an hour away from my home) return the two packs of wipes and they will refund my card. (Cue the head scratch) Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the same as me just buying an item and returning it..... so the cashier kept an item I paid for until I caught it, and then charged my card for things I wasn't buying, and I now need to drive an hour round trip to return two generic packs of Sephora wipes to get my money back for her mistake? Awesome customer service experience all the way around here folks! I've asked for the store manager to call me back. Not sure what to even expect if this is the level of customer service. Truly unfortunate.

There were at least 10 ladies acting like they’re working on the floor, ignoring clients.I wanted to purchase something and this employee, Corinna, left me hanging on the aisle, although I told her I would like the order the product since it was sold out in store. She turned back and went cheat chatting.I decided to leave and I will avoid this store from now.
