I’ve been going for 3.5 years and have had nothing but great experiences with all the drs and techs here. I have a dog & 2 cats and they all go; along with cats/kittens I’ve fostered. They are very compassionate and take a lot of time to review diagnosis and answer your questions. Their pricing is fair based on typical veterinary costs. They give clear estimates for procedures. Recommend them 100%!

Ever since the original doctor retired this clinic has turned to garbage. My dog has diarrhea everyday and her stomach growls every 5 minutes. Dr. Shaffer(horrible vet) told us “Well sometimes dogs just have diarrhea??.” What a genius response from a trained professional. Her stomach problems have not gone away and now we have to see another vet. Dr. Shaffer also made us express her anal glands meanwhile the vet before said if we started doing it then we would have to keep doing it and it would become a problem. These vets just want your money. I cannot speak for all of the doctors but I can tell you Dr. Shaffer is a fraud and doesn’t care about your pet. He wants your money.

I have been bringing my canary and shih tzu here for the past 3 years. But if I bring my other dog I have to pay $97 for a new patient???? Does that sound logical? A money grab for people to get more money out of them? So, I will bring my dog to another animal hospital. It’s a shame it doesn’t make any sense to anyone I talk to. I live on a fixed income like they will do some day and I hope they see what’s it’s like for a shake down. So you turn customers away??? It can only be they want more money not that they care for animals, what happened to trust and family atmosphere? Just checkbook?. It’s a shame really. But it shows you their Vet oath means nothing.?.

Middletown animal hospital is wonderful, i’ve brought my late dog, my cats, and my guinea pig and i’ve always had a great experience. I have some very dramatic animals (specifically my torti) and they always handle her well!

We lived in the Middletown area from 2019-2024 and during that time, Middletown Animal Hospital was the only vet we visited with our dog, Apollo. We truly loved this place. The facility was always clean, wait times were minimal and the vets were caring and patient. Apollo has some behavioral issues and we tried various methods for helping him while we lived in the area. After a few different visits and discussions with different vets, at one point my husband received a call from all of the vets at the practice on a conference call to figure out the best way to help Apollo. To me, this is really above and beyond and shows a deep level of care. I would recommend Middletown Animal Hospital to any loving pet parent.

I went into Middletown Animal Hospital stating emphatically that I think my dog is having an addisonian crisis. They took her bloodwork and disagreed, claiming renal failure. They persuaded me to do three days of IV fluids and a multitude of other tests, charging me THOUSANDS! On the LAST day, suddenly, they decided the bloodwork DOES indicate Addison and THEN wanted to charge me for that test and treatment!!! I left immediately and went to Home Vet who tested and saved her life for $500. STAY FAR away from this animal hospital and go to Home Vet! I even called back Middletown to give them the opportunity to admit their mistake and reimburse me, but claimed no fault!

I went into the vet with a very clear statement of what I believed was wrong with my dog. After being told I was not correct, we spent the next three days treating her with IV fluids and running a plethora of tests. On the final day and over $2,000 later, I was told that they believe it is the diagnosis I came in thinking it was. My dog was hours away from death and instead of listening to the client, they almost killed my dog and took my money. I immediately left and went to Home Vet who ran the appropriate test and gave the appropriate treatment for under $500. They admit no fault at all for almost killing my dog. Hours after the correct treatment, she went home completely back to normal. STAY CLEAR!

I should have read the reviews regarding their customer service and the "receptionists" my first visit to this animal hospital and after stopping in to drop off a stool sample I was told it was an additional charge which is understandable HOWEVER not only should I have been told this on the first visit but I assumed with the almost $200 bill I paid on the visit covered it. Thar charge apparently only covered the exam!!!! No blood was taken, no shots were given. Thar is TOO much for a first time puppy visit. Then to have to deal with the receptionists attitude at the front desk??? No thank you. I'll drive the 45mins to our old vet where the front desk people are fabulous and they dont try to rip you off.

Middletown Animal Hospital has provided exceptional care to our pets, ranging from the smallest of reptiles to our large bear-like dogs for 30+ years. Drs.Yurkis and Curro are great at handling patients that are not especially thrilled to find themselves at the vet, but all of the staff is exceptionally good at what they do.

My cat just saw Dr. CURRO Thursday and he always does a thorough exam of the problem and is very honest and knowledgeable. I recommend him as a great vet as well as the other doctors we have seen in the past. The staff up front was super nice as well. Bradley

Not great, but conveniently located. Also, costs have drastically increased. Not sure how they compare with other health providers. The people in the front desk need work.
