I bought several tubs of popcorn, took them home, opened one, and it tasted like exhaust, just awful. I checked my receipt and there was nothing that said I couldn't return food, so I took time out before my shift at the place next door to return them. The girl behind the counter was openly rude and condescending. I was shocked. She said it's not "good form" to return something opened. I asked her how would I know that it tastes bad if I don't open it. Then I asked her if she was always this rude and she answered no. So I guess I was just lucky. I told her I work in a store where we would NEVER be allowed to be so openly rude to a customer, ever. Plus I told her there was nothing in the return policy on the receipt that said I can't return food items. The store is always a mess and the people are always unenthusiastic.

My shopping experience at Big Lots goes in both directions depending upon what I'm there for. It used to be a great place to go for Discount Movies but they seem to have gotten rid of 95% of the selection and it no longer makes it worth the trip. I will still go when I require refills on some of my supplements but it's not in my normal rotation anymore.

Purchased a Halloween inflatable. It worked the day I got it, worked for two days and would not turn on any more. Called big lots and was told it is past the 30 day return window and they will not refund my purchase. I purchased it on August 19th and it stopped working today. So I was supposed to know by September 18 (well before the time I would decorate for Halloween) that this product was a piece of garbage and would only last two days. Never shopping at Big Lots again. I shop there quite often. DONE!!
