“The service is great. The locals flock here. There are some characters who give this place its vibe. A talkative place. Large portions where you don't get away hungry. Eating "right" can be had, no fountain drinks. Great daily specials. Parking is a concern, not much around. The prices are really good and more than fair for what you get. Make to order sandwiches made the you like. The onion rings are top-notch. Kielbasa and kruat is available. a treat that is hard to find in these parts.”

“In the sleepy little town of South River, who knew that you could find a treasure trove of authentic Portuguese restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. Cavaco Supermarket is known in town as the go-to Portuguese deli, grocery, and bakery. The shelves are even stocked with products imported from Portugal. On the front counter, you'll find a variety of fresh baked breads, codfish fritters and turnovers, pastries, as well as of course espresso. In addition, they are a churrasqueria and offer delicious BBQ chicken, served in a giant tray over rice and fries. Their pastries, such as their bola de berlim and pastel de nata I'm not too much of a fan of compared to other spots in town, but their chicken and codfish fritter was delicious and their fries are even fresh cut. Take a look at their various imported goods and merchandise and you'll certainly be surprised!”

“Great clean pleasant nice parking area in the side and back automatic doors to make it easier to get in well regulated store temperature beautiful yummy mostly fleshing takeout open when the store does, Delicious looking tuna wraps and egg salad wraps packaged very appealing with a yummy cucumber etc, keep it up a fan from Lakewood! “Average meat place. I usually get goat meat and chicken. Service is okay but goat meat sometimes good , sometimes okay and sometimes not so good . So they don’t really maintain a standard. else no complain. They do serve cooked food/take out. Chicken Biryani was okay. Chicken grilled was good.”

“UPDATE:I received a call from the owner within 24 hours of this review (on a Sunday). She offered to do whatever she could to make this right. Fortunately, we placed the product in the freezer, so no harm. I will order again for another try based on this response.My customer service experience was very different than others leaving a review. I placed an order in the summer to be shipped. My husband is a Jersey native and I wanted to surprise him. When the order was received, there was some insulation and two ice packs. It was brought right inside the house, but the Texas heat and time in delivery vehicle were unforgiving. The product did not feel cold so we temped it and it was 66 degrees. My husband immediately put it in the freezer and I reached out to the company to find out if it would be considered safe to eat. Some processed meats do not require refrigeration and I wasn’t sure about this one. We received no response, no follow up to multiple emails and no return calls. Completely ghosted!”
