Since The Auto Shop transitioned from Ed & Jim, Andre the new owner has maintained their legacy. Andre has handled a variety of repair fixes and routine maintenance for us. Work was done with high quality and in a timely manner. Andre always takes time to understand the issue, explain alternatives and associated cost. He is very trustworthy, knowledgeable and excellent communication skills. Highly recommendable!

They are scamers. They charge me and my husband $150 and refused to give us the key to our car unless you pay the $150 in cash. All they did was look at it and didn't fix our brakes. $150 is a scam when their are other auto shops that look at your car for free or a small fee of $10. Please don't take you car to this place.Edit: This isn't false review the situation really happened. This autoshop is refusing to take accountability and wouldn't refund us. This should be illegal.Services: Auto brake repair

Don't go to this mechanic. I sent my jeep in to be looked at for any problems. They looked at the car and fixed nothing then charged me $150. I got my car looked at for free at a different mechanic. This place is a scam.Edit: Sorry I didn't know a jeep wasn't a car I'm not a mechanic ?. Don't trust them with your vehicles and other transportation devices.Service: Brakes

Do NOT go to these guys! Horror story basically.I don't live in the area and had to go to the closest mechanic here. I disliked the service and when I went to these reviews I was shocked. I didn't expect to see similar reviews to what happened to me. These guys upcharged some other reviewers just like with me!! I'm furious how similar it is. Didn't even bother replacing my brakes when that's what we talked about me needing. They upcharged for reassembly. Why didn't you replace what needed to be replaced then?? That was fine with you before I had left!! So I had to go to another mechanic and guess what, their basic assessment they didn't even charge me. The other mechanic charged me $360 for replacing the brakes, 1 brake pad on my rear was still good! Thank you to my dads friend Jose! Way better!!So this this poor excuse for a mechanic here in Middlesex charged me for "reassembly" I know what that means. You want to be paid for your time. Guess what, you would've been paid in full if you were transparent and let me know you were VERY off in your estimates. So you're either incompetent or profit off of lying to customers.Estimates have a general rate for a reason and you change yours to your convenience like you did with me and so many people in these other reviews apparently?!! Why bother being a mechanic here? You found a way to profit off of upcharging assessments and holding cars hostage without even CHANGING the brake systems.

I went in to have them take a look at my jeep. They made me pay $150 cash to get my car back. And they didn't not fix it. They probably pocket the money. I got my car looked at for free in South Plainfield.

I worked for Andre for three days. Shop was dead. He doesn't show up on time to open his own shop. He owes me three days of pay and hasn't paid me. If your looking to get work on your vehicle don't go to him, he's a shady character. It's funny now he responds. I actually did work there for three day that you andre owe me money for. Don't bring your vehicles here. He can't even be punctional to open his own business. The three days I worked for him he didn't show up until 9:30am when he was suppose to open the shop at 7:30 am. I waited outside each of the three days until 9:30am for him to show up. If your customer of his your definitely getting ripped off.

Best service center in town, I spoke with manager who took his time to help me understand what was happening with my car. Even though this only required a minor fix the integrity and ethics of this gentleman has won my auto services forevermore!!! Awesome, awesome awesome!!Service: Electrical

This is about my fifth year working with what everyone now simply refers to as the joker. I’ll take my business elsewhere he almost got into an altercation with my friends and we were scared. No thank you. And he towed my friends car. On a bright note there’s plenty of parking.

Lived across the road from here for 2 years and had an old ‘99 Corolla. This shop was the best, always explaining the repairs and being honest and upfront. Told me once the fixes got too expensive to be worth it given the age of the car, and what repairs were necessary vs. just convenience. For someone just out of college, that honesty and help was amazing. They reminded me of my family’s favorite trusted mechanic from back home! Amazing people!
