I can’t even explain how devastated I am with my experience here. I am not one to complain or review businesses poorly, but for anyone who needs alternations for very special events, I would be incredibly cautious.
I am eloping in Yosemite NP and found a dress that only needed to be hemmed - nothing else. I needed 1-1.5 inches taken off the bottom. I found George’s and gave them a call - the seamstress told me to come at 2pm. I showed up right on the dot. I waited an hour until she showed up. I guess she stepped out and there was a LONG line of us waiting for her to get back. Fine, I get it, things come up..
Then, during the fitting, I expressed multiple times how I did not want the dress to show my shoes (hiking boots). When I went to pick it up today, the dress floats ABOVE the boots. I can’t even imagine how many inches she took off. She told me I was wrong and didn’t show any empathy and kept fighting me on it. I was so upset that she’d take that much off any dress when it’s supposed to be a gown, but especially after I expressed my concern with hiding the boots. She said she would attach fabric to make it better… Unfortunately, it’s still very much showing the boots and does not meet the ground like a gown should. I still had to pay a ton of money for it. I was dumbfounded!
All the time spent searching of trying to find “the one.” All three visits were disappointing and left me with a butchered dress…. Worst experience with a business I’ve ever had.

I got my jeans fitted and the service was excellent. They made sure measurements were taken before working on them, completed the work quickly, and the end result is so good you can’t even tell there are stitches. Fits perfectly too. If I need clothes worked on again I’ll definitely come here.

Went in on a Wednesday morning (knowing I was pushing my luck) because I needed my dress altered by Saturday, so I went in with the intention of being told they couldn't accommodate me because again I know it was very last minute. The seamstress allowed me to try on my dress to see what needed to be altered and pinned it. Now here's my issue, I went into the fitting room to remove my dress but when I came out the seamstress and another coworker (a guy) were talking about me in the sense of how late I came in for an alteration that needed to be done in such little time, and next time they would just tell me - xyz and he had sooo much attitude saying it. (they couldn't see me but i saw and heard them.) when the man finally came around and saw that i was standing there he had nothing to say - that oh shit face. he just handed me my ticket. I asked him if it would be a problem getting my dress done and he "assured " me that if that was the issue she (the seamstress) would have just told me that " - EVEN THOUGH THATS LITERALLY WHAT THEY WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT! I said if there's an issue and it's too last minute it's not a big deal I will just take it back. . he said there wasn't any problem, so still skeptical i gave him the dress and left out but i walked back in two seconds later to get my dress back because i was already uneasy about the situation.

Lovely, lovely man. Took care to mark both pairs of jeans. Not cheap, $70usd for 2 pairs to have waist taken in. Picked up after 2 days. Tried 1 pair but sadly didn't put the 2nd pair on until we left the country and they hadn't been fixes at all. $70usd isn't great value. Check your items before you leave the store!

I went to George’s with a very much last minute rush request for tailoring during an incredibly busy time for them. They were professional, courteous, and extremely accommodating. I was able to pick up my garment a few days after dropping it off and it was absolutely perfect for my important work event. 10/10 Highly recommend for your tailoring and dry care needs.

Call to make sure the tailor is there before you get there, she runs on her own schedule. I took my uniform here and the tailor lady tells me put it on and tells it’s perfect that she doesn’t need to do anything to it. I inform her how I like my uniform to look on and how I’d like it. She proceeds to tell me she really doesn’t need to do anything. Frustrated by my requests she put two pins in the back. When I picked up my uniform I realized she only sewed the liner inside. The tailor ignored my requests and I have the same uniform I came in with. However I would have rated the communication 5 stars.
