Scheduled my appointment online for a new pet appointment. I showed up and they said it wasn’t in their system. They tried to offer me a few other times in the following days and unfortunately they did not work for me. But I showed them the confirmation email and phone call transcript that confirmed my appointment and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I know taking my cat to a corporate vet was a bad idea but I figured I would at least give them a shot.

So far, so good. Easy to schedule, knowledgeable staff, clean office. I would rather the entire eval happen in the exam room instead of my pet being escorted out and back but post Covid this seems to be normalized at many vets. I like that the Vet comes in to chat and explain the visit. I also like that I was given options for heart-worm and flea/tick maintenance with cost analysis. Knowing ahead of time and not being rushed I was able to choose right for my pet. The appointments at this location were very personalized for my pet and I and we both left happy. My pets do not hesitate when they return which means they give Banfield Metuchen their “paw stamp” of approval—that’s enough of a recommendation for me!
For one of the visits I had scheduled a drop off pickup appointment because it worked best with our schedules. With traffic and rain I arrived a bit later than I was hoping and ran to the door in a hurry. What I found was a staff member playing catch with my pup (tail wagging and all)…she was calm and happy…what more could I ask for?

Let me start by saying this establishment has gone down hill since Covid, specifically the Watchung Location. They have not fully resume in person visit majority of appointment are drop off only, they dont answer theyre phone and doctors doesn't communicate with the pet parent in regards to your visit. The front desk employess are the one who tell you how the visit went not the actual doctor. To me that's very unprofessional. So I decided to switch location and we found Banfield in Metuchen. This location is fairly new and it not too far from me. My first 2 visit was very pleasant and pleasing. I was able to get an appt immediately for one of my BT Pepper. Not drop off actual in person visit. That's when I met Dr. Walker she was very professional, good listener, thorough and caring. At that moment I thought I found a new pet friendly Hassel free caring hospital for my 2 BT. About 3 weeks ago where I need an appt for 1 of my BT where I was told no appt available but drop off only I agreed because she needed to be seen as per the emegency doctor for follow up. For the 3rd time Dr. Walker came through for my baby girl. She then recommended another follow up. The follow appt I was given is another drop off. I now see a pattern of continously drop off appt. Today i made an appt to see my girls Primary Care Veterinarian since hus back from hus tripis I called Metuchen office early this morning authorizing them to release full July medical records and they failed to do so. When I got the the vet's office at 345 pm I was told that Banfield I Metchen hasn't forwarded to records to them, so I called my self and got the answering service then j was transferred spoke with Gianna asked if I can hold for 15 to 20 minutes and I agreed 35 minutes later still on hold called back from another line place on hold again by Gianna hang up called back again answering svs again at this point I'm frustrated, annoyed and angry. About 45 to 50 minutes of going back and forth they finally fax the medical records. It's very disappointing and embarrassing the way this establishment handle a very simple request. No urgency and very bad communication. I rather drive 45 minutes and pay Doctor visit fee knowing I feel valued and meeting my girls need with urgency. I hope Banfield management re-evaluate how they do business specifically customer satisfaction. Front desk employee needs coaching. These employees are the face of your business. You need to hire employee who like what they do and enjoy what there doing.

I absolutely love this location. I wish there were more Banfield locations as standalone options. Staff is truly fantastic. Such a pleasure each time I go.

The Metuchen Pet Hospital is not as good as the one in the Seacacus. In Seacacus the staff is knowledgeable and courteous. In Metuchen, you get the feeling that they are looking for an opportunity to upsell you. At first, Seacacus wasn't like that but slowly they are joining the upsell community. Either way the doctors are better at Seacacu. My dog loves it there. She gets great medical care.

I recently had a concerning experience with my pet post op . My dog was leaking a lot of fluid from an incision .Upon calling the clinic in a panic, I found the staff to be dismissive. Despite having a wellness plan with them, Dr . Jennifer Evenowski told the receptionist to tell me to go to emergency an emergency clinic really ??Dr. Jennifer Evenowski.,Despite her claims of expertise in tissue and muscle, my dog's condition, a seroma, went misdiagnosed the day before by her. What's more disheartening was her refusal to reevaluate or provide further assistance. The passive-aggressive behavior added to the frustration.I was dismayed by the lack of professionalism, empathy, and veterinary knowledge displayed by all involved . It's disheartening to feel unsupported when seeking help for a beloved pet. I believe there is a need for improvement in customer service and communication at this clinic.I hope this feedback contributes to a better experience for future clients and their pets .I reached out for help regarding my pet's health, only to receive conflicting guidance from different veterinarians within the same clinic. This lack of coherence has left me questioning the professionalism, knowledge and communication within the establishment. In light of these experiences, I plan to escalate my concerns to the corporate level in the hope that they address these issues. Consistency in veterinary advice is crucial for pet owners, and my feedback aims to contribute to the improvement of overall service standardsI trust that bringing this issue to the corporate level will lead to a comprehensive investigation

This has got to be one of the most dysfunctional vet care facilities in NJ. They prescribed a chicken based food which they know my dog is allergic too but did so anyway. When questioned their response was simply “sorry”. They should all go back to school and learn the basics, READ THE FILE BEFOR PRESCRIBING MEDICINE…In addition they made us pay out of pocket for heart worm medics when it’s already covered by the insurance. We were told if we did not purchase it our pet would not have the dental cleaning done. What a bunch of crooks,STAY AWAY FOR HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET !!!
