I brought in a broken IBM Selectric typewriter and got back a beautifully operating machine that types like butter. The owner is pleasant and fair, and the shop is pretty cool, full of old nostalgic typewriters of all colors and retro copy machines that have been in movies! All in all, a great experience.

We took several vintage typewriters to him and were so impressed Rick’s knowledge and skills. His prices are great and as well, his store is so interesting with the many typewriters that he has restored to their original beauty. Definitely a wonderful experience and we highly recommend taking your treasured machines to him! And, not to mention Buddy, his cute little dog!

If you are wondering whether you should check out this shop - stop wondering and just GO. Rick is the nicest, most knowledgeable guy ever. I just went to his shop for the first time today, and wow. His shop is like a museum full of beautiful interesting treasures and each one has a story that he will gladly tell you all about. He and I nerded out for a good while. He treated me like I was a V.I.P. customer and I didn't even buy anything. (Not yet anyway.... I told him that I see a full-size desktop - not a portable - in my near future.)
To illustrate a little bit just how kind and friendly Rick is - I emailed him about a week ago while I was on vacation in Europe. I had found an old Bulgarian made typewriter with Spanish qwerty, and it needed repairs but I loved it, so I emailed Rick with photos to see if it would make sense to carry it home for repairs. He actually responded to me, gave me the exact advice and counsel I needed, and helped me out immensely.
This is the guy I will go to from now on anytime I need my typewriter serviced, or if I acquire an old typewriter that needs refurbishing. I've been to other places but Rick is the real deal.

I am a project manager for a home builder in Willow Grove Pa. We have an ancient IBM Selecric typewriter, that our secretary LOVES to use. When the machine started to give her troubles, we didn't know where to go for service. We found Karl busines machines, and boy are we glad we did! The owner is super nice, but more importantly, his work is superb!
Some of the typewriters he refurbished are beautiful, and look better than new! Our machine looks and works better than it ever did.
As we are a small business, it's nice to do business with small "Mom and Pop" businesses as well. Go here! Take a few minutes to let Rick show you around the shop, while you drop off your machine. You won't be disappointed. It's nice to see businesses like this still exist!

Great business and a great place to go back in time and see different type writers. Rick is always kind and kept me in the loop every step of the way as my typewriter was being refurbished. The typewriter came out perfectly and was reasonably priced to get it fixed. Thanks Rick for everything!
