Y’all don’t answer any emails or questions. Nor do you offer a reason for denial or what would be helpful/needed to get approved. Zero communication.

Update: you continue to lie but it is all good. I have screen shots which are attached to my review, you communicate more on your reviews than you did with me. Image is clearly more important than results. If you are a person wanting to adopt please look elsewhere. There are so many shelters with Huskys/dogs who need loving homes, do not waste your time at this shelter, pay the fees, set up home visit wait 3 weeks, to ultimately be rudely told no. We went with another shelter in NJ about 15 minutes down the road from this one. So happy to be rescuing another husky and give my current husky a sibling.
The owner contacted google to remove my review since I posted pictures that showed she was not being truthful in her response.
--The owner at this place is extremely rude. They have dogs on the website that are not up for adoption. You pay the fee, you have a home visit scheduled for 3 weeks and the day before they show up they tell you the dog is not compatible with you. She told us the dog was happy in the foster home they were at and unless i wanted to adopt all the dogs at the foster home (7 plus the one i wanted), I would not be able to be adopt her. Dog is still on their website. My vet and my groomer spoke to the owner and they also have had similar encounters with her. My groomer said they were even denied adoption of a dog (when they have a 5 star review for their groomer business and have been in business for 10+ years). A groomer (someone who spends all day with dogs/pets) was denied.
Please see pictures of previous review, the one that was taken down, as well as pictures of the dog being up for adoption and email clearing us for the go ahead. I took out phone numbers, contact information so hopefully this one won't be removed.

Unfortunately, despite the laudable mission to save animals, this shelter' policies are deceptive. They do not include in either the Intent to Adopt form or Adoption Agreement that they require mandatory tattooing for all animals during spaying and neutering.
Adopters are told AFTER they sign the contract that their pet will be permanently marked with a green line. They say it will be "tiny" but the tattoo is made very visible across the dog's abdomen. They communicate this information in the last line of the surgery scheduling email that arrives weeks after adoption, just a few days before the procedure.
They also require microchipping, and they register the dog in their own name, even though you are the owner.
Be aware of these policies before you travel for the meet and greet where you are on the spot to adopt the dog and sign the contract. This shelter does not allow you to use your own vet for spay/neuter or decide if your dog needs permanent marking.

We have adopted 5 huskies (we have 3 right now) and would never go anywhere else. Lorraine & her staff give 200% of themselves to their dogs.

I am absolutely blown away by the dedication and passion of the team at Husky House! Their tireless efforts to find the perfect forever homes for their rescues is truly inspiring. From the initial application to the adoption process, it's clear that their sole focus is on ensuring the happiness and well-being of these beautiful dogs. If you're thinking of adding a furry friend to your family, look no further than Husky House - you won't find a more committed and caring organization anywhere!" 5/5 stars!

I had applied with these people for Pomeranian Puppy. They did the calls everything, also the house check. They even said it was a plus that my daughter was a vet tech. After a few days I had been approved I was very happy even had a name for her. After being approved didn't hear from Stephanie this was the person I was talking to. so I decided to call couldn't leave a message because it was full so I decided to text Stephanie which I knew she had read my text. and tells me that the puppies been adopted already, but still 2 of the puppies were still on there website and Stephanie told me they were pending.
So why send me a email that I was approved always bought Pomeranians for over 18 years from breeders and this time I decided to adopt. I applied twice with Husky House the first time they told me the puppy had been adopted for 3 month already. And now they come that the puppies where adopted after me being approved and they cant say I'm not fit because I was. I just think they had there own people like they say is all about connection. I only give them a 2 star because of the very nice lady that came to do the house check. If not would not give them no star. Will never apply with Husky House again.

We had such an incredible experience adopting through husky house! We put in an application, and I will say we had to wait a while to hear back, and when we called it was because our other dog had not been neutered yet, which was a requirement that we overlooked, so our bad. Once we had our other dog neutered, the process went smoothly.
When we went to adopt her, they let us do a few sessions so our other dog could meet her and we could see how they'd play and if they'd get along. They even offered to let us foster her for a few months to see if she'd acclimate well to our home / other dog. While we were at HH, we met some of the volunteers and they made us feel like family. The volunteer who did our home visit has followed up even years later, and gave us great starting out tips. The owner, Lorraine, remembers every adoption and puts her heart and soul into this organization. One of the other volunteers even told us about our pups personal quirks & how to best approach. They really make it a point to learn and love on these dogs. They don't just adopt out to adopt out, they really check the potential owners for a good match and I think some people can get frustrated it's not as simple as other rescues. But this isn't about you. This is about the dogs having another chance at a beautiful life. A husky is not a dog for everyone and Lorraine takes this seriously to make sure as few pups are returned as possible.

Last week, I identified another dog ( Benny) we were interested in and I immediately contacted them to meet him.
Just a few short days later, we met the dog this past Saturday. Upon meeting him, we immediately expressed we wanted to adopt him but since we had prior plans that night — I asked if we could come back Sunday for him. I just didn’t think it be a good idea to take him that day to only be home alone for hours his first night. I thought this was a responsible thing to do. As we left there, this woman, Gloria, said she would have to see who could be there tomorrow for us to return and let me know. Right after the visit I also emailed the woman I’ve been communicating with, Stephanie. I shared my commitment to adopting him and that was looking forward to coming tomorrow to get him.
She said: “I would have to see who's available. This is my show weekend at school so I am pretty much booked and I can't ask Gloria to drive all the way from Queens again tomorrow. I'll get back to you.”
We quickly were making preparations for his arrival and headed right to the store where my kids picked out a bed, leash, treats, toys etc. and they were so excited!
About 4 hours later while going to this event, I get an email from Stephanie that read; “I have bad news. We had another approved adopter who came in after you and adopted Benny”….
So many thoughts crossed my mind— couldn’t they have told the other family if it doesn’t work out tomorrow we will call you? Why didn’t someone call me immediately to speak to me about this? Why was the 400 adoption fee (cash only) not requested?
Their expectation of the adopters is to be responsible-it would be great if they could reciprocate please.
***The strangest thing though is the post about Benny from march 23rd has been completely wiped from their Facebook like he didn’t exist and there has been no post on the adopting family for him either— like they do for all other adopted pets. ?????****
I completely understand the urgency in wanting to adopt these pets promptly, but this entire last situation appears to be highly suspicious.
Furthermore, their shelter appeared in a state of disarray and not kept up which raises serious concerns about the well-being of the animals under their care. The outside looks like a junk yard with stuff all over the property. The trees are overgrown you almost miss the building. And the inside in just as unkept. I would love to help clean it up!
It’s my opinion A pet adoption shelter should provide a safe and clean environment for both the animals and potential adopters, and it is alarming to see that the establishment appeared neglected.
I have a 25 year history of adopting animals, I am thought out, careful in decision making, make great effort into preparing my home and provide a safe and comfortable place for my pets for their entire lives.
This feedback highlights the importance of clear communication, respect for potential adopters and their families and the need for shelters to prioritize the welfare and cleanliness of the animals in their care.
Unfortunately the Husky House animals may NEED rescuing from the rescue! I pray these animals find homes!

This is wanting way too much for a dog who fills out an application for a dog and phone interview but the most silly part of it all is a home visit that’s utterly ridiculous i can go to my local pickup and pay whatever price and be done

UPDATE: The response from Husky House proves my point. I'm very clear on their terms—I simply believe their terms, policies, and conditions serves their ego far more than it helps the dogs get homes. Thus, I recommend using other rescues and shelters that are more supportive, and less interested in being almighty gate keepers (that deny you without explaining... so, it is quite likely they could deny you for any reason even not liking your name, we have no idea because they do not value transparency). The fact they we condescending in suggesting I didn't understand their policies is incorrect. Their desire to give us permission to not proceed is also condescending. Seriously, find another rescue. The application is ridiculous, and they don't even let you see the application until you agree to their terms. They definitely seem to want to be gate keepers of who's in and who's out. If they reject your application, they refuse to tell you why so that you can't even address a concern. Just look at these reviews, on one, they were so rude as to even write "the dogs didn't even like you". There are a lot of adoption agencies, go with any of the others.

My family and I filled out an application to adopt a dog from this shelter. We went to the place to check out the condition they keep the dogs and the girl who answered was rude and said we needed an appointment. Which I get the appointment part so I waited, with no response. As a family we felt everyone wants to puppy and we wanted to give some of the elders a chance and fell in love with a dog from this shelter that we could have provided an amazing home to.This place rejected our application without and reasoning of why. I called and emailed and no response. Now reading the rest of reviews I am sad that a place like this stays open when there are loving homes trying to add to their family and they don’t even answer back but can post on Facebook they are “over crowed”. Shame on them for keeping these pups from a finding a good home. They also did not call any of our references before denying us.My daughter had her heart set on saving an older pup from this one and extremely heart broken.I feel bad for the dogs at this shelter. Thankfully there are kinder people and shelters willing to put in the work to find these dogs good homes and that actually put in the work to get to know the people who adopt. Another local shelter close by reached to follow up and actually talk to us about what we were looking for faster and with more heart, super friendly and also called our references.I would not recommend this place and I pray for the dogs that stay there.
