I've been going here for over 20 years and they are the BEST dry cleaners in central jersey. they have saved me so much money by keeping my clothes in mint new condition and they treat each article of clothing with so much care and respect. the owner and the employees always treat me with kindness and respect and my children love going there just to say hello to the nice owners. their prices are great, especially compared to the expert attention they give to our clothing. i've seen all the other dry cleaners in the area and they don't come close to the great work that matwan cleaners does. Thank you matawan cleaners for being the BEST!!

Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service!!
I have been a loyal customer of this cleaner service for many years, a tradition started by my late father-in-law who was also a dedicated patron. Throughout the years, I’ve always appreciated the courteous and professional service, especially from the female staff member who I believe is the owner's wife. Unfortunately, my recent visit was nothing short of a distressing experience, completely tarnishing my view of this establishment.
I visited the cleaner to drop off a down comforter. The male staff member, possibly the owner, greeted me with a confrontational attitude. He informed me that I had a jacket left since January and demanded immediate payment. As I did not have my debit card with me, I asked if I could drop off the comforter and return later to pay for both items. His response was shockingly rude and aggressive. He flatly refused, insisting that I must pay for both items upfront, showing no flexibility or understanding.Despite explaining my long-standing relationship with their business and my intent to return with payment, he remained unyielding and increasingly irate. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful. He threw the comforter back at me and rushed me out the door, completely disregarding my loyalty as a customer.
This encounter left me feeling hurt and appalled. It’s disheartening to see that years of loyalty mean nothing to this business. The unprofessionalism and lack of basic customer service skills demonstrated by the male staff member are unacceptable. I will no longer be patronizing this cleaner and urge others to reconsider before supporting a business that treats its long-time customers with such contempt.

I needed a suit dry cleaned. the one gentlemen was very helpful and kind. they had it finished by the end of the day. I would highly recommend them. Plus it was very affordable.

and spoke to a rude , nasty and unprofessional elder gentleman who belligerently denied any responsibility. He actually had the nerve to offer to fix them for $7.50 each. I said he was talking to me like an idiot, so he hung up. I called back several times but they refused to answer my call. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST

Just moved here was told this was a great place. Took a simple dress here to be hemmed, I’m short so this happens often. This dress was basic, paid maybe $50 bucks for it, needed 2inches max hemmed, no lining, no lace, sparkle sequin not difficult material just a clean hem and about half inch on spaghetti straps, I was charged $70!! I was floored, I’ve had so many nicer dresses done for maybe $50, unless it was a fancy dress, difficult material or hemline I’ve paid over $100. My dates suite alterations were $75 and they did a full revamp of jacket, vest and slacks and his guy only does alterations. I showed not only the people who did his but brought it to my old seamstress up north both said $40 max! They couldn’t believe I was charged this much, when I called after and explained thinking maybe a mistake they said no $70 flat fee for a any hem…I don’t mind paying for difficult or great work but I can’t justify this price. Everyone who recommended me was shocked, I’m still wondering if a mistake but sadly I won’t be trying again to find out

I've been going to Matawan cleaners for about 10 years now and haven't ever had any issues. Our clothes are well cared for and hung/packaged beautifully. The prices are fair too. The owners are very friendly.

Wally is by far one of if not thee best dry cleaner I have ever met his level of care towards a very expensive suit that had been tarnished in the rain literally put money back in my pocket working with him !! My suit is as good as new !! I’m very satisfied with his customer service great over all atmosphere and quality of workHe even Tailored the pants for me a bit !! Thankyou wally!!!

I left a suit with them to be dry cleaned and a coat to be altered (sewed a button back on). The service was quick, but there was a snowstorm on my pickup day. Still, when I called, I happened to catch the cashier as he was coming in to turn on the boiler, and he stayed an hour so that I could come and pick up my suit! everything was clean, repaired, and well done.That's professionalism AND care for the customer. They get the work done on time, do a great job, and they're looking out for you. What more could you want?Service: Delivery
