This place has horrible product...they tell you they have better stuff than home depot but in fact they buy product from home depot take anything home depot off of it then sell it to you at a premium...they sell you spruce saying it's Doug fir...they also treat their employees horrible...the owner constantly yells and screams at the manager and over the radio's...I'm glad I got out of there and will never return even as a customer....I just looked through and half the reviews are from employees...???.. this place is a joke.

I placed an order for 11 doors on 9/29/21 from Dave Bloodgood.The issue arose because the salesperson (Dave) did not clearly explain the measurements included in the order form related to the 11 doors. Specifically, most of the doors required a measurement of 30 inches wide, but he input a measurement of 3 feet in the order form instead, which resulted in an order for 36 inch doors.To remedy the issue, the business asked me to place a new order for doors at the correct size, and a refund would be issued for the original order once those doors were sold through. This agreement was promised in an email sent by Dave on 12/28/21. To date, 2 credits were received on 7/19/22 and 3/25/22 for 2 doors.It has been more than 1 year since I have received any credits for the remaining doors. When reaching out for status, Dave's demeanor has changed over time, and now seems terse and uninterested. I'm not even sure if he is actually confirming the status of the doors when I am able to reach him. I recognize the posting of this complaint relates to a late issue, but for a long time I had trust and patience that the salesperson would settle the issue.Overall--if the business is no longer committed to issuing a credit they should just be honest. If the business is still committed to issuing a refund, but the doors are truly unsold perhaps a more thoughtful update would be appreciated.

This place is incredible. Anthony Jr. is an incredibly nice guy and so knowledgeable about building products. He worked with my contractor to do the windows in my house and they were flawless. I had such a positive experience, I can’t wait to work with them again!Rick Wetmore

I love going to this store Anthony will always take care of me and make sure I get the write things that I'm looking for their prices are lower than home depots and Lowe's and they have a better product so if you're looking for a great store to go to come here and ask for Anthony he will help you out in every way thank you Richard kassay

Tried to order 2x12's and they told me they had 30-40 in stock at the length I was looking for. Called me back telling me they aren't interested in selling them to be because they are "hard to come by" - I literally in shock... I was never even concerned w the price or anything but since they are "hard to come by" they've decided not to sell me any......... crazy

Thieves! Madison Township Lumber's salesperson ordered the wrong size windows for my new construction. He took back the windows and promised to credit my account once they were sold. I had to chase him several times, every time being told that they were on a sales sheet and would be issuing the credit soon. This was over a year ago. That salesperson has since retired and MTL is not taking any responsibility for his actions. They never sold my windows and never gave me a credit either. Avoid using this company or they will steal from you too!

I have worked with their 'travelling' sales man Paul, and he is great. Unfortunately, when i went to the store to match up some chestnut molding which i brought with me, the sales man, Dave pretty much blew me off. He said i should call in the order! When i asked him what type of wood would they order for me, he said they would order chestnut! I'm no expert but American Chestnut has been extinct for close to 100 years! Very disappointing. I went to JH Monteath in Old Bridge and they were matched my requirements on the spot!

Love this place. Very hard to find a old school mom and pop hardware store anymore. They are all gone. I hate being a woman and going to Home Depot. I need to pull teeth to get help. These guys are great. Every time I walk in the door I’m greeted with a friendly hello and a warm welcome. The owner and the boss “ Hos Dad” are so great. Thanks guys and stay strong

This store has a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I would say it is generally more geared to the professional contractor. However, if they can help you out as someone who is a do-it-yourselfer, I think you will get honest information as best as they give you.
