Always good in a pinch....prices are higher than other grocery stores, but it's the convenience.

Barely edible. When you charge those prices, no margin for error. Chopped liver (I’m Jewish) way too salty. Margate Macaroni salad too sweet. Turkey off the bone, a signature item, processed and slimy. Chunky chicken salad—all out of date. Expired. Sorry, whomever is running this market gets an F.

Casel's is legendary. Fresh veggies, seafood, meats. The Nova lox is the best! Bagels, rye, and sticky buns are always on our shopping list there!

A Margate staple, no doubt. A small convenient market, limited items, but they cover most everything. Little pricey on deli etc… but what's not pricey down the shore?

Casel’s is for convenience. Beyond that the store is one of the biggest rip offs I’ve ever visited in my opinion. Their prices often have no relation to reality. You want a cut up large bowl of watermelon? $32. THIRTY TWO DOLLARS. Now look at Cole slaw. Go to any normal supermarket and the retail price for a head of cabbage - the primary ingredient - is a bit over $1 a pound. Naturally, Casel’s sells cole slaw at $8.99 or twice or more what you’d pay in normal market. And they buy their cabbage wholesale!!!! An avocado? $3 each. A normal supermarket - $2 or less. And don’t get me started on their store made rice pudding. I saw a container of it for like $14. 22 oz of nationally sold Kozy shack? $4.99 at acme and even less than half the price per pound at Casel’s itself! Look at their corn on the cob. $5/5 ears. You’ll pay more for two ears if they shuck it for you and put it in a tray with plastic wrap. Some things are not crazy. But generally speaking, I believe most things are cheaper elsewhere. Some, even perhaps many, way cheaper. They remind me of a store that doesn’t just increase their price to cover the nationally known inflation, but uses that inflation to overinflate.Fresh meat and fish? Well, the fish - on a shore community it seems very sub par. But then there is the meat. Some of prices their cuts - even lesser cuts like short ribs - are just absolutely ridiculous.I suspect that once the seasonal people leave, prices may fall. But I’m not confident. What I am confident in is my opinion that this is a rip off store that plays off a long time reputation that no longer applies and people who value convenience at a ridiculous premium.

Great local family owned supermarket in Margate NJ. Has a great deli and bakery section and fresh produce.

Great local food store. A might over priced. Meats could be better. Fresh fish is non existent. A shame. Wish they had better cheeses. Still very good. But not a Star.

Price gouging at its finest! Everything here is at least double any other grocery store. Save for emergencies. Didn’t realize it until I got home but over $17 for a small chicken salad!!! Just one example. Avoid

I’ve shopped at Casels for specialty items since moving full time to OC from NYC. They have a terrific selection of deli items from knowledgeable, fun staff. The best kippered salmon, lox, homemade lean corned beef, roast beef, turkey and much more. Fantastic bagels & other breads. Decent cheese selection but I’d love to see some more interesting offerings. Yummy prepared salads. Sandwiches other foods. Fresh produce selection, though I’d enjoy more offerings from local vendors. Best Thanksgiving offerings in area. I used to rely on them for butcher items but since Covid it’s just been off.Yes, it’s expensive but worth it for the freshness and quality. A luxury to have in this area cuz god knows it’s needed.

I’ve been shopping here for years and today I was very disappointed. First let me point out that a lot of the employees help me today. And are very nice! Everyone was very nice except there were two cashiers at the front one of them I asked can I purchase a shopping bag because we live in New Jersey and there’s no bags and you have to bring them and I forgot mine. I asked her to purchase one and it was like I’m bothering her. Oh excuse me I’m sorry you’re a cashier you’re supposed to provide great customer service. Let me give you some advice. It’s gonna be very long summer for you if you have that kind of attitude because the people that come for the summer will not put up with that especially at Castle’s . Absolutely ridiculous customer service.

I’ve been shopping here for years loyal customer, but I visited today was very disappointed with one employee in particular. Asked one of the two cashiers at the front to purchase a shopping bag and she told me we have them but it was as if I’m bothering her, NEWS FLASH your a cashier and are there to provide customer service and it should be good customer service at that! Everyone else in the store that I asked for help today to find certain grocery items were very helpful she has a major attitude!!! She better get a grip because summer is going to be a very long summer for her lack of customer service skills people skills. Is it that hard to be friendly? She has that attitude with all the customers that come in there during the summer good luck.
