Sam has so much fun at day care! He even gets excited when he sees the PPC 'party van' (i.e. the transport van) driving around the neighborhood while we are out on walks. The drivers always honk for him!

Took our dog here years ago and hope this place has improved. The problem is they have so many animals. At 7p they closed for the night and your dog will be locked in a small concrete pen until they open again in the morning. That didn’t sit well with us. Our dog came home stressed, hoarse and aggressive. Think carefully before you board your dog in a facility.

The staff was amazing and very helpful! They definitely helped ease my mind of any worries for my dog's first stay with them. They were also able to answer my questions and even relay personal anecdotes of my dog.

We’re new to the neighborhood and absolutely love preferred pet care! They take great care of our high energy man, Barkley. He’s gone for boarding and daycare and loves it.

We take our dog Roxy to Preferred Pet Care for daycare at least a few times a month. We recommend it highly -- we're 100% confident she's well cared for!

My dog loves it there so much I think I'm jealous. He boards and goes to daycare. He practically jumps over the fence to get in. Very caring staff.

I decide to write this review tonight as it literally happened to our puppy, Boggie today. Boggie is my sister’s puppy. As my sister travels and I need to be in the NYC office today, we need a one-night boarding for Boggie. I recommend the preferred pet care in Maplewood to my sister as my neighbor highly speaks of it and location is convenient for me to pick up.Boggie is a 7-month-old, rescued dog: she has a good temperament, love people and LOVE playing with other dogs: she graduated from puppy class from St. Hubert and continue to take manner classes. She goes to a half day care program in other doggie day care center. I am saying this as nobody can believe Boggie is aggressive by just looking at her.Today, my sister dropped off Boggie for one night boarding for the first time to preferred pet care at 10:30 am, hoping to do trial for meet and greet. (We were told Boggie would do trail during morning). In that way, Boggie can play with dogs during the day. Since my sister was in an airplane, I would like to check how Boggie was doing there. I called preferred pet care from 1:30 PM and finally got through to a staff at around 3:30pm. When I asked about Boggie, the staff mentioned she is in the room alone with staff attention every hour as the person dropped off Boggie mentioned she is aggressive. First, my sister never mentioned Boggie is aggressive and the truth is Boggie is not an aggressive puppy. She is simply lovely. Later, a staff said there was a mix-up with drop-off and unfortunately it happened that way: he called me to asked whether I wanted them to start trial at 4pm! I left worked immediately and arrived at Preferred Pet Care at 5:30pm thinking to pick her up tonight. However, when I arrived, Boggie was playing outside (finally!!!) with other dogs. In addition, I did not want to disturb her playtime and I wanted Boggie to feel a whole vibe with "not sleeping at home". Two staffs mentioned Boggie was having a ball and it is up to me to pick her up. Reality is that my sister and I, we would have occasions to have Boggie boarded as both of us work with travels involved so I decided to leave Boggie there tonight for her boarding experience. I plan to pick her up tomorrow as originally planned. Two staffs I spoke to at 5:30PM were nice though. However, with everything said, I am very much disappointed with what actually happened to Boggie. I feel extremely sad to learn Boggie was isolated from other dogs almost 5 hours (from 10:30am to 4:00pm), almost whole day, although I was told Boggie got 10 mins staff attention every hour. My first experience with preferred pet care was not as pleasant as I would imagine and not sure whether we will leave Boggie there again. Sad night!Today after I picked up Boggie, at 2:35Pm, I got a phone call from the manager saying they did not charge for Boggie Trial of $30 dollars, which i paid immediately on Feb 8th 2023. During my conversation with preferred pet care in the afternoon on Feb 7th, all he said was "unfortunately it happened that way".

Seth and the PPC staff have provided a loving home away from home for our shiba inu, Ghost. The staff are caring and Ghost loves to go to PPC, for both daycare and overnight boarding. The staff manage the dogs well and carefully screen new dogs for temperament. Highly recommend this team of dog lovers to care for your best friend!
