βA shoutout for their buyer, Ashley. She has an exquisite eye, the flowers are so beautiful and stunning, and she is extremely delightful as a professional! Their product is just spectacular!β
βI love this place.
I've been ordering mulch and soil from the yard for years now. The prices are always really good, and the extra charges for stuff like delivery are reasonable. Especially if you're ordering at least a few yards of something.
I've ordered both online and by phone and the process is always easy either way. You usually don't have to make an order more than a day in advance. I've even called up first thing in the morning and gotten deliveries later that day once or twice.
Every driver I've had is excellent. The Yard will call you when they are loading the dump truck so you can put a tarp down or do whatever else you want to do to get ready for your delivery. The truck shows up 30-60 minutes later. I'll tell you, these truck drivers are something else, watching them work is a treat. Whether it's one yard or ten, they know how to dump it out of the truck bed exactly where you want it and nowhere else.
Also, I really like using undyed mulch becuase it's got a natural look, and I've only ever found it at The Yard. Not Home Depot or Lowes.
I think you can go to their address and buy stuff and put it in your own vehicle, but I can't speak to that because I've never done that. I'm not sure I ever would, either. The delivery is just too convenient.
Don't waste your money or time buying bags of mulch at Home Depot and making all those trips back and forth to your house. If you need at least one or two yards to mulch your beds, just call up The Yard and get a delivery. The last few years my neighbors and I have picked a weekend to do all our mulch spreading and we get one big order of 6 or 7 yards of mulch, get it dumped in one of our driveways, and split the delivery cost.
EDIT: Actually, one more thing. I'll show you the math. Right now, in 2024, The Yard is charging $33 per cubic yard for brown or black dyed mulch. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. Bags of Vigoro black or brown mulch at home depot are 2 cubic feet. You'd need 13.5 bags to get a yard. Each bag costs $3.33. So if you go to Home Depot and buy 13.5 bags you'd spend $45 total.
So, if you needed two yards of mulch, you could go to Home Depot and spend $90 to haul 27 bags into your car and bring them home, assuming they'd fit, or, you could spend $66 + delivery, which probably works out to about $90, and get better mulch delivered to you.β
βIβve never been but my uncle John owns this place!!! Heβs an awesome guy, I call him βbig Johnβ heβs like 6β4 and a shoutout to my cousins who I miss very much, Jessica and Abby and my aunt Martha (owners wife) I hope to make it to yβallβs farm one day!!!β

2371 Forest Ave, Staten IslandβFriendly and knowledgeable staff. I've been having some problems getting a persimmon tree to grow in my yard. They've always been helpful and patient with answering my newbie questions.β
βWe've been coming to this farm for years. Not only do they have a wide selection of shrubbery trees and produce, but they also have live animals in the back with the kids can see such as donkeys chickens and rabbits! So this is a great place to bring your kids especially for free. (Currently these are no longer here. Feb 2024)When you come here there is some street parking directly out front, but you can also park in their brick-paved lot to the left of the building. Also by the inside parking, are bricks & pavers that you can purchase. My recommendation if you're going to buy shrubs for privacy here, is to measure the height you want them to be unless you're willing to wait for them to grow to that height, because you can purchase taller ones for a higher price. The next time you want to buy some produce, why not come here and purchase it directly from the farm instead?Between the greenhouses and the barn is a soda machine, however you can also buy some cold drinks like iced tea inside where you make your purchases. in those greenhouses, by the way, is a large selection of flowers and plants you can buy. So feel free to browse them while you're there too!β

291 Main St, BellevilleβI went here over the weekend. The place is beautiful. The owner let us see the greenhouse. It was amazing. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable about the different types of soil to help my plants. He even showed a sample of the new soil he just received. This place is 5 plus stars.β

272 Milltown Rd, SpringfieldβI wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to one of my favorite new local businesses.. I tracked down Cardinal garden center after seeing a delivery of beautiful laurel plants arrive at my neighborβs house while I was out on a walk. I immediately knew I wanted to buy my plants at Cardinal because they were of such obvious high quality. Not only do they have lovely plants, but the staff is helpful, knowledgeable and just basically awesome. Iβm new to the northeast so they spent plenty of time discussing my new yardβs many landscaping needs and walking me through their inventory. They also have an excellent selection of potsβmuch better than the local big box stores. On my first visit they helped me choose two large planters for a pair of enormous Boston ferns along with drainage rocks and top-notch potting soil. I also purchased a gorgeous pair of mums for my front porch and a set of boxwoods to later replace the mums. On a recent visit, I found the most beautiful carving pumpkins and a couple of cute decorative ones. Have you watched the movie ββYouβve Got Mail.β A visit to Cardinal is like stopping by ββThe Shop Around the Corner.β You receive plenty of personalized service from a knowledgeable staff.I stopped by Cardinal this morning and discovered a wonderful selection of Frazier and Balsam Firs. They were very fresh and full. I also picked up a beautiful wreath.β
βHad a hard time finding the right belt for a mower...a stop in this store solved the issue...and at a fairly cheap price compared to online prices and even other common stores. Need a specific part...try this store. Very knowledgeable staff...β
βOrdered some flowers for my mother's birthday. The flowers arrived promptly and my mom called me to tell me that they might have been the prettiest flowers she's ever received.β

1190 Route 23, 1190 Pompton Ave S, Cedar GroveβAs a new homeowner, I am not very handy at all. Was not sure even sure what to do with a snowblower I was given (does this thing even work? how do I turn it on?)From the very first call, this place went above and beyond. Debbie called me at least 5 times to coordinate pickup and drop off (due to my busy travel schedule)- she was super flexible, informative, and understanding of my needs- and she left so much important detail in her messages to me. For example, I had to suddenly go into the city on the scheduled drop off date, and she found a way to get my drop off scheduled for the next day so I could be there for it- and she also coordinated with the delivery tech to make sure he stopped to show me how to actually use the machine. She did this with minimal contact with me as I was in meetings all day.The tech that picked up and dropped off the snowblower gave me extremely detailed instructions on how to use the machine as was well as tips to take care of it and avoid future issues. Either Debbie told him I had no idea what I was doing, or he could just sense it from my questions- but he did a great job of giving me dumbed down instructions without being condescending or making me feel like an idiot. My experience from my first call to payment and receipt of my machine was exceptional and painless. I was listened to, prioritized, and treated with kindness and respect. I will be using them again for any equipment needs, and recommend you do too- especially if you are intimidated by machines/equipment/are not handy.β
βGreat guys in there, always very helpful and excellent display to choose from, inside the store is always neat and clean- i highly recommend them for all your outdoor productsβ
βa bit pricey but well worth it for their high quality shrubs and flowers. Pay the extra cost you will not be disappointed and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.β
βI want to commend an employee name Brenda Mathis, she works in the appliance dept. She was thorough, helpful and personable. Home dept should be proud to have employees like her.β
βIrene is a manager at this store who makes sure everyone is taken care of. Always greets me with a smile too and a nice hello. The ladies in this particular store are the most knowledgeable employees I have ever experienced at any Home Depot franchise. This is my favorite location. They are always so helpful. Colonia is my go to store.β

528 N Michigan Ave, KenilworthβFirst time doing business with this establishment. Ever since the Pandemic I have been very proactive with planning and budgeting home projects. I am in the market for materials and supplies for a retaining wall and also an mini outdoorBBQ Station and kitchen with sink. Jersey Landscape and Gardens only sells the top rated brand of papers in my opinion Cambridge with Armortec. Their prices are fair and reasonable , that I stayed within my forecasted budget. The delivery charge is more than competitive. The staff is very friendly and and go the extra mile to work with your needs. I will definitely be doing business with Jersey Landscape and Gardens in the future ????βΊ?β
βWe were looking around for some plants for our front yard and decided to give this store a try for the first time. I have to say I had low hopes when I walked in and saw only a few teens working there. I was pleasantly surprised because Pete was great. He was very patient and explained everything to us. We left with a whole bunch of great plants. I hope I can keep them alive :-)β
βThe best! I moved to Verona about a year ago and luckily this place is down the street from me. Sometimes I walk there just to see what they have for the season. The flowers I've purchased from here seem to last longer and grow larger than other garden centers. The prices are not outrageous like some other garden centers as well. It feels nice to not only support a local business but also get a product that is better from a large-chain box store as well. They also have a pretty large selection of seasonal produce, such as jersey tomatoes in the summer Honestly the best part is that in the fall they have really cute farm animals that you can visit!β
βFantastic experience working with Mike and everyone at Zo!
We needed an overhaul of our landscaping and front walkway. Really smooth process - from working with us on the design, great crew for the work and affordable pricing on top of great service throughout the project.
Highly recommend!β
