Wide selection, considering this is a modestly sized store of its type. Pleasant staff, fair prices-they have a demanding local clientele and they stay on top of the ball.

I was Just in the area today and I remembered I needed to pick up some top soil. I was Going to go to Home Depot but I said Maplewood has to have a nursery in the area. So I googled and found this place literally 2 min away from where I was. I went Right over and the nice gentleman came right over to assist and i got what i needed ( Very Great Quality Top soil). Not the basic stuff they sell in the big box stores. I was In and out in a Breeze! Can't wait till the weather breaks so i can return to buy more plants & herbs

We have been purchasing our Christmas trees from Millstone since we moved to the area about four years ago. Our first year, we had an issue with our tree not taking water. Without us even asking, they offered to drive to our house and swap out our tree for a new one free of charge. Every year since has been quality. This year, our tree started showing the same signs from Year 1 of shedding needles and not taking water so we called to see what they could do to help us as a customer. After being told I was speaking to the manager (which is strange because he told my wife on a separate prior call that he needed to check with his boss) and explaining the situation, I was told that "all Christmas trees are dead" and "that's the risk you take in buying a tree". What? After another 10 minutes or so of rudeness (including his self-proclaimed "extremely generous" offer of me finding a way to get his defective tree back to him for a replacement, rather than driving out to replace like they had only three years ago) and me sharing with him my feedback as a customer that this was terrible customer service, he snapped and spoke over me saying his offer was rescinded, to not bother bringing back his defective tree, and promptly hung up on me. I intend to take him up on his other "generous offer" to not return to Millstone in the future. Definitely encourage supporting local businesses, just not this one until it replaces its "manager" with a competent business owner.

I came here for some lavender and they only had one plant that seemed somewhat neglected. I also came for insecticidal soap for my mom’s Holly bush which was infested with sooty mold and scale bugs. the staff here are friendly and helped me to the best of their abilities, but I think they should expand their inventory in terms of certain plants. It could just be that when I came they were low on plants.

Extremely well-run. Family run local business. Large part of their business is B2B, but they are very well oriented to help the individual. My family and I have been customers for years. Love Christmas tree season!

Very happy with this Garden Place and its why I never go by rating system ( well unless its food lol) I seen two negative reviews were from a "Karen" and some guy that got a free load of top soil that cost $250 but gave one star which was weird. Still don't know if that was a sarcastic title or not but anyway this place was great. We order 5 yards of top soil this beautiful red orange color. It looks beautiful and the price was even better. Thanks for making are new home look even better!Don

Rude and terrible service. A business in decline of their own making. Knowledge base is way below average for a nursery and the inventory had gone down over the years. Years ago this business was wonderful. In addition, I have never been treated so rudely by a local business (or any business by that matter). Long time customer here no more, I cannot in good faith continue to support this place. The straight up rudeness to any customer from a manager or owner is unacceptable. This is not a happy business and it shows. Go elsewhere.

Very lucky to find this place. I got mulch from Home Depot and it was a mistake. Had nails and paper. Look like junk! So someone recommended this place to get mulch to overlap this HD junk mulch. It was a better price and quality. You can't beat that.

Terrible. Poor and cranky service and bad quality. Worst Christmas tree I ever had. DOA. This has gone way downhill.

Nice selection of flowers and herbs. They were very friendly, while keeping a nice social distance. They offered to pay outside. I went on a weekday, afternoon and it was really not crowded. Happy with my purchases! :)

The service here was poor. The proprietor was selective in who he served and chose to ignore my husband and I while he served customers who came after us. He was so obvious with his disregard that the other customers seemed uncomfortable. One apologized. I won’t be going there again. We left our items on the counter and walked out. Never again.

I love Millstone. Connor is a great manager, extremely helpful, well run. Support your local business during this pandemic.
