These guys are SO friendly and helpful, and have a ton of materials and expertise. Most of the stuff is geared towards table top gaming, but I make miniatures (dioramas, dollhouse scale objects) and they were able to answer all my technical questions about my own projects. They also have a big table with terrain in the back, ostensibly to host games. They have a lot of Tamiya, green stuff, testors, polystyrene, and citadel supplies. Easily the best hobby shop in the NYC area.

Great shop. Happened by after a walk around south mountain. The shop has all the paint you could want and every possible tabletop war game. They have a huge play area and awesome guys that work there. I could not have been happier about my purchase. I limited myself to three when I would have bought every piece of kit.

Twice a year, Maplewood Hobby hosts an auction that offers amazing bargains for aficionados of military miniatures and war games. On Friday nights, the store stays open late to host groups of Battletech and Warhammer gamers. How do I know all this? I have a husband who grew up with these interests, and now he has shared them with our son. It turns out that all I had to do to get my kid excited about family fencing practice was join a club around the corner from the premier gaming store in New Jersey.

The best selection of hobby and modeling paints and related supplies, especially for wargaming figures. Its for people that are into the hobby and know what they are looking to buy. A unique business with product you will not see very often at the retail level (eg plastic model kits)

Great location for buying craft supplies. They also have a serious tabletop battle reenactment community.

A friendly local game store, good selection. Rich is very helpful if you're new to miniature and board game hobbies. The place is cozy, cluttered, and rustic like an old book store.

Went here as a kid many years ago, and it looks like they haven’t cleaned it since.
